The 24th December is not the real Christ's date of birth, so, I know what it symbolises but i don't celebrate Christmas for the birth of the Christ.... I wish you a marry christmas (and a lot of gifts..;) =)
For me Chrismas is a magic moment, filled with happiness and with smile.Chrismas allows to gather all the familly. I like Chrismas because we eat wery well, we have presents and we party. But Chrismas it is also the religion. It is the birth of the figure of Christ for Catholic. But for me I think that Chrismas is a day of peace, enjoyment ans generosity. The 24th december is a day where all your family dinner together, sing and celebrate the 25th december, the birth of Jesus. And after that, you must go to sleep for having your presents, because children thinks that the christmas father offers them during this night, and for all families in the world ! Hello, For me ( Guillaume ) Christmas means the Christ birth. We love to celebrate it because this heavenly time means the birth of the Christ , who died to save us, but we love this time for plenty other things as the important family-meals or the opening of the gifts the Father Christmas brought us. Even if Christmas is a religious time, I think we all have to respect it , beacause Jesus was pure respectable and I think we have to celebrate it, because the Christ is as an example of what is good.
So , I wish you an happy Christmas to you and all your family and all your Friends ... to everybody ...
Christmas is time to celebrate a family gathering. But also the idea of merry christmas is a way to wish your friends happiness and peace. It's a time to share what we have in common and feel less lonely.
To my mind , Christmas has lost his real meaning : celebrate the birth of Jesus . Indeed nowaday people don't care about this , they only want to spend more time with their family for example or want to have lot of presents . Therefore thanks to this period firms are made a lot of money . We must not forget this fact ! However it is important to see that in this period people are more generous , and everyone looks happy .
Christmas means a lot to me. It is the particular moment of the year when all the family gathers for the warmest night of the year (although it is already winter). We eat a lot, only the finest food. We laugh a lot and cheers to the end of year and the following one.
Gifts are also very important, no matter the cost, they offer the occasion to make someone happy. Even if I struggle every year to find the best presents, there is nothing as good as a happy face, smiling at a nice present.
In my family we don’t celebrate Christmas at 25 December, but at 31 December we sit around a table full of different tasty dishes cooked by everyone in my family. For me personally Christmas it’s a good event to unite with my family around table and to talk about our life. I think it’s important to do this every year. We do some things that Christians used to do during Christmas like we are decorating the Christmas tree and we put gifts under the tree. I know that Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe is the Son of God.
