Day without technology

Nowadays, we can't do without technology that is present in our everyday lives (mobile phone, computer, tablet, TV); especially us young.

  • Would you be able to spend an entire day without using your mobile phone or your computer or your tablet?
If this has happened you can share your feelings.

  1. First of all I have to admit that I personally use very often technological devices like my computer or my mobile phone. It can be at home, when I want to contact some friends or when I have free time to spend on the net. What I prefer above all is watching Youtubes videos and listening to music with my Ipod. But it can also be at school to prepare presentations, find biographical information...

In fact we can notice that these technological devices are becoming to a certain extent more and more usefull : scientists for example have to use computers for algorithmics programm, doctors and nurses in hospitals need also modern technology for equipment or for surgery... Hier we can assert that technology is improving our lives !

On the other hand, most teenagers can't leave for any reason their mobile phone an entire day, even if they don't vitally need them ! As far as I'm concerned, spending an entire day without using technological devices wouldn't be a traumatic event for me ! I actually really appreciate the silence and peace which can be found in mountain, where I can hear the soft noise of the river and the birdsongs, without being disturbed by phone calls ...

So all things considered, I think that even if I can be attracted by technology and even if I frequently use technological devices, I am also able to live without them and enjoy a normal life !

  2. Nowadays technology is our daily days because wherever and whenever we use it.
One can say that it's like a drug for young people but also the adults.
    To answer your question, I can be able to spend an entire day without using Tv or my computer but for the smartphone it's more difficult because it's a small thing which we can transport everywhere and which stays in our pockets but it's possible to stay without it;
it is enough to switch off the Wi-Fi and everything becomes possible.

  3. To start with a personal experience, I have already spent a whole day without touching a phone, a laptop or anything else.
To be honest, it was not hard at all because I was on travel with my parents and my brother in Sri lanka. As a result, there were pretty much more interesting activities to do and discover.
More generally, I think that when you are busy doing something, you don't particularly need your phone because your mind is focused on something else. However, as we are used to using our phone everyday, we can't stop using it from one day to the next.
To sum up, technology improvements are constant and aim for customers' addiction.

  4. According to me, it is possible, of course, to spend one day without using all these technological devices. We are constantly in their presence. As soon as we have to make nothing, we are always ( practically ) using either a mobile phone or a computer. We were born in a generation where these devices develop more and more, so we're used to have them with us. But we have to put ourselves instead of our parents and grandparents, because them, they lived without these technologies. We are used to them but they are not essential.
That already happened to me not to use my mobile phone during a day ( even during one month once ), and sincerely, we can do very well without it ( I'm able of it but each individual is different ). Even if after a while we need it, not to use it allows to open better to the world.

  5. Nowadays, it is true that we can't do without the technology, especially us young. As said Valdet, technology can be collected just like a drug to some people. Personally, I think I could spend a whole day without technology. This is already happen to me not to use my phone one day, but this day I had a picnic with my parents and friends, and instead of being on our phone, had been found in sports just do. I think we can move on our technology at least a whole day; you just have to find something.

  6. It’s true that today, everybody have a contact more or less important with technology. Even my grandparents have their own smartphones!!! Indeed, during the last ten years, technology developed a lot, and take up a space more and more important in our daily life. For us young, we are born with all that technology around us, so we use it easily, we are in all that from an early age. Maybe too early for our brain, now lots of young people are addict of technology and fall sick if they don’t use social network or technology for a long time.
I never experiment to leave my phone or computer away for a whole day, because I use that devices for too many reason. We use it to work, to relax, to talk with someone… even just to know what time it is! That technology is very useful, now we have all we wanted or searching for in one click. Technology has become indispensable to us. So I hope that I could spend a day without using my phone, but I’m not sure. Didn’t you ever had this feeling of terror and distress when you don’t remembered where you put your phone, and you don’t find it! Finally you discover that it was just in your pocket!!! I have sometimes this feeling of panic just because I lose my phone for two minutes, so imagine what it could be for a whole day! As for me if we decide to not use our phone, we can do it, we just have to think to a different thing, we find a solution to busy ourselves. For example we could be able to do sport, or see some friends without using our phone.

  7. The technologie is really important first for science and then for everyone. It helps to have a direct link with the world, to be more precise, is necessary for some assistance in medicine...
It is true that some studies talk about addiction to technology. And it concerns especially the young population that has known nothing else and is born with the "growth of technological science for everyone".Therefore I think that it's to easy to say that young people are unconscious and addicted.
Moreover to my opinion everyone is abble to spend an entire day without using such technological things. But this experience does not add much except to prove that the people who put others in this addiction to technology criticize their own work but do not take them responsibility.

  8. Hello!
I think that technologies are part of our everyday life, not just for young people...
I see a lot of qualities to new technologies: the phone keeps track of news and prevents our friends or our family if something happens, internet is a huge dictionary, moreover it connects five continents.
Youtube allows us to discover new artists, social networks to communicate with relatives who live far away.
Like all things, we mustn't abuse it: except that becoming addicted is very easy and get rid of a addiction very difficult!
I can do without my phone one day, but after three days it starts to become boring, and after a week very irritating, but if I am deprived of my phone very long time, two years for example,I'll be accustomed!
It's a matter of habit, like stop smoking or become vegetarian.

  9. It is indeed very true that technologies are everywhere around us and that we can't really escape to them. I can't really tell if it's a bad thing or not, because obvioulsy it totally changed our way of life, some things are a lot more easier now, for example just to communicate with someone. Tehcnologies helped reducing distances.
But it also has negative consequences, because we have became dependant of technologies and there are things we couldn't do now without a phone. People often get real life and virtual life mixed up, and are more focused on what they see on the internet than on what they can see outside. And I can't tell I'm not one of these persons, because I am.
I'm not a 100 percent sure I could spend an whole day whithout a mobile phone or a tablet. I guess I could make it, but in this case it should be a very interesting day !

  10. Nothing is impossible! However I don't know if I could forgo my phone an entire day because I'm always afraid of having a problem and not being able to reach someone for help. The day to day technology is not a bad thing. Indeed it is a real time-saver! Nobody likes searching for hours in a book information that can be easily found on the web. It also is a way for us the young generations to keep in touch with our friends. The social networks afford to share our experiences with the people we love as long as we don't share them with the entire world of course! So I wouldn't say the teenagers can't spend a day without phones and laptops. We just move with the times and technology doesn't prevent us from enjoying life and the things around us!

  11. Honesly no beacuse technology has become a big part of our lives . It's only used for having fun but for important stuff like studying ut really saves us time' I'm not saying technology is all good but we have to overcome the disdvantages because we can't live without technology even if we dont admit it

  12. Hi everybody !
First of all , I have already spent a day without any new technology . In fact , I woke up and went to school , as usual . Moreover , I went to a concert and I realized that I had forgotten my phone at home . However , it was better because instead of taking pictures of the concert , I could enjoy the whole concert and see it with my eyes . Nevertheless , most of young people are addict to their phones , Tv , or tablets . They grew up with this kind of technology and that's why they are used to it . Although , I see eye to eye with thomas because young people don't need technological devices and sometimes they should enjoy life without using it .

Finally , as for me I love spending time on my phone ( especially before going to bed ) in order to see the news or to go to the social networks . However , I try not to spend lots of time on my phone .

  13. To my mind, I think that I can totally spend an entire day without screens but only if I am doing something which occupies me all the day (or if there isn't connection at all !!). I've already spend days without using technology, it was in the Salomon Islands and you can imagine that there was not connection (although expected)

  14. Hi everybody.
First, I think it wouldn’t be hard to let my phone down for a day. As for me, it’s quite usual during the holiday. There’s already a day without cell phone on 6th, 7th and 8th of march.
But not using your phone for a day isn’t very useful. It’s like losing decades of innovation.
In my opinion the biggest problem for some people comes from temporary content. I can understand that people don’t want to miss out on something meaning they have to spend all their time on their phones for example and couldn’t let it down for a day.
As far as I am concerned society is organized around cell phones. If I shut down my phone, people will be like « why didn’t you answer my call » and all that.
If I had to call someone (with someone else’s phone for example), I couldn’t because the only phone numbers I know are my parents’ ones and mine.
I didn’t feel the need to memorize other numbers because they are right here in my phone and I think we’re all a bit like this.
A nearly as good method as the usual one could be to use emails or messaging applications on a laptop. However as the subject says « without technology » you can only communicate face to face which is not a bad thing.
    Thanks for reading.

  15. Hello everyone !
To strat with, I'd like to say that nowadays technology is everywhere and that it makes our life easier and funnier.
Though, in my opinion I could live one full day without technology such as computer, tablet or TV but certainly not without my mobile phone.
First of all, I couldn't stand not being in contact with my friends. Moreover, I appreciate being informed of that is happening in the world thanks to the notifications my smartphone gives me. Finally, anytime I want to find out about something, I look for it in my mobile phone and I get wide information about it.
I experimated a day without my phone in the mountain because there wasn't any network due to bad weather conditions. As for me, I felt very excluded and just wanted to go back to nice.
To conclude, in my mind, mobile phones are always with us because they are small and we can take them everywhere, then it seems very difficult to live without them.

  16. Hi everyone !
I think technology is very important nowadays, it's the biggest revolution of the 21st century, mobile phones, computers, tablets are now EVERYWHERE.
Leaving my phone for one day would of course be complicated but I could do that. But leaving all the technology would be impossible. I would stress the whole day without knowing where my family is, where my friends are. It would drive me crazy ! Even for my everyday homework at school I need to do reaserch, to get informed.
But most importantly not going on the social media durring one day would be terrible ! There could be fires, earthquakes and I will not hear about it ! And snapchat ! It is so important to go to snapchat everyday because I have to keep my fires, it means that I have to send everyday one snapchat to all my friends to have a high score, if I don't do this everyday, I will never be able to keep my fires, for example my highest score is with Anais, we have 280 fires it means we are sending snachats to each other every day for 280 days! Imagine if we lost it ! I would be terrible !
To conclued, I think techbology is important for entertainment and to get informed, without it we will be back in the 15th century !

  17. Nowadays technology is a part of our life we use it everyday. More and more everyday objects become technological and enter in our daily lives.
It's true that it's touch especially the young because we are born with it but it's touch the adults and the old too.
To be hontes I can spend an entire day without technology but I need to hang out like a travel or a day with my friends.
But I never experiment it, maybe one day ?

  18. Hello !
To start with technology is very important nowadays because thanks to it, we can comunicate with our friends or family all around the world. So, on one hand, it will be difficult for me to spend a day without my phone. But, on the other hand, we often use technology in order to go to facebook or other social networks so technology becomes a waste of time for most of people.
To conclude, I think I would be able to spend an entire day without my phone or computer. Moreover, I already did it during my summer camp, and it was very easy because I had other things really more interesting to do !

  19. To my mind, in our life, technology has an important place. As we can see, around us, everyone has a technologic object as a smartphone, a television, a computer, a tablet ... These technologies can give nearly everyone access to both knowledge and communication. And they occupe a very important place because we face to these technologies more earlier : we can see some kids of 3 years old know how to use a smartphone. But I think, it's possible to live without technology but nowadays it's difficult. For example, I can't live without my phone because it follows me everywhere and I need it for communicate with my family, my friends and also for school and work.

  20. Hello! While i never actually tried to spend a day without using any devices, i do believe that it's possible to do that. Even though it became so important during these past decades, it surely isn't essential for living. Everyone knows how phones are useful now, like for example, having a phone lets you talk with anyone at any time and because of that, it becomes necessary really fast. It's hard to live without one in today's society. You can schedule appointments, find out when the next bus is arriving, and much more.
But it's not that hard, i mean people have lived for centuries without this convenience, so why shouldn't we?

  22. Hello !

To begin with, technology is like a drug for lots of person in the world and it comports some great or terrible consequences.

Like everybody said nowadays technology is a real part of the society, for our generation we are born with that around us so we use it easily. To my mind, I able to spend an entire day without using my mobile phone but it is easier when I am busy to don't think about that indeed when I am alone it is difficult to resist. Moreover we can think about all the population who haven't internet and they live very well without it.

Finally, as for me I love spending time on my phone in order to see the news or go to social networks but I know when I must stop that and it's very important to have some limits.

  23. Well, yes I would be able to do it. Indeed , when I am traveling in a very wild place it is much more difficult to enjoy your computer or your phone because you won't be able to charge it. The fact is that nowadays it's almost imposible to think of not using new technology for many people. Moreover it is much more difficult in big towns not to use your devices as you are always connected. For example , you play video games because the Wi-Fi is easily available however some countries don't have the internet. As for me if I was in a good windsurfing spot , I will enjoy the luck and just practice windsurf. So I won't be bored and I won't feel the need to use phone or computers.

  24. Hey!
In my mind this question is very interesting but anyone can answer yes because technology isn't a vital need.
But this question is more about feelings than needs so in my mind I would say that yes I could spend a day without technology but it would be a very stressful day.
First because I don't like to be ignorant. When I wake up the morning I check the news in my phone, when I'm back to school I check the news in my computer and the evening I check the news in Tv. So yes it's not a vital thing, but technology can give anyone news and for me, it's very important.
Then technology give us a daily comfort, If you want to know when the bus will arrive, where is your friend, or if you have to take an umbrella. Yes they're very negligible things but sometimes they make life better.
So yes I could spend a day without technology, but I would prefer not.
Now if we look at technology in a bigger scale, like tecnology in prison, in police, for people who look for earthquake ext... It is way more important everyday. Our world is now based on it and it would be a disaster if all the earth would be private of technology for just a day.

  25. Nowadays new technologies are everywhere, we use them for a lot of things. They are used in medicine, in social networks, in our daily life, for example if you want to search an information or to order something you will use the web.
Each day the technology is more and more attractive and suggest us to buy products and to use it.
It is getting difficult to live without new technologies, especially if you live in an modern country.
As for me, I can't spend a day without my phone or my computer in normal conditions because I need it for several reasons. I have to do my homework and I want to see news through the TV. If I want to know the weather or to talk with a friend I need to use new technologies. However if I am on holyday and I go to my grandparents'futur house which is not completely achieved I can't get connected to the Internet or charge my phone battery so I spend entire days without my phone or my computer. But I don't feel stressed or sad because on one hand I can't be bored with all the things I could do like cooking, reading or playing with my family and on the other hand I can relaxed and spend my time differently. Moreover this house is surrounded by a beautiful landscape and I walk peacefully when I want.

  26. Nowadays, connected screens are all around us. Personally, a deconnexion seems to be possible and necessary sometimes. Indeed, if we are determined, we easily can leave our mobile phone home or turn our TV off for a day or more. Being disconnected allows us to live in the real life and share particular moments directly with people. It brings us more feelings when facing friends or family members than talking through devices.
However, I enjoy having my phone with me and being able to text or share things with my friends for instance. Also, using connected technology makes me feel suited to my generation. Indeed, today we all need internet and its possiblities for any kind of activity, whether it's for hobbies or work (and even for Mrs Ricketts' homeworks).

  27. Hello everyone,

Of course I would be able to spend an entire day without tablets or smartphones or any device of that kind. Why am I so sure ? just because I have experienced it during 5 days in a row during my last hollidays I spent in Brazil. I must confess it was not really my own decision, but that was dictated by the lack of wifi network…
Knowing if we would want or not to spend an entire day without communication device is for me more interesting…
After my technology free session in Brazil I have tried to become less dependant to my mobile (quite hard, I must admit) but it is a difficult fight against myself and all my friends who send me messages and request instantantaneous answers. If you want to be part of the fast moving world, you need to be connected, even in a student environement.
As a student, it may be easier to do without mobile than when you actually work in a company. Today, employers demand that you stay connected almost the entire day.

  29. Developping technology brought a faster way of doing things such as researches. As far as I'm concerned it had allowed me to save time from going down to the library. This connectivity is an unlimited source of information, entertainment. In fact it is a powerfull tool, that is why it may explain why we spend so much time on them.

However spending a whole day without touching a computer, a smartphone or what so ever is not so hard. I have already personnaly experiment it, and although I didn't choose to do such a thing, during that day I didn't feel any need of going on social networks or anything else that had to do with technology, I was only enjoying my trip.
My opinion is that if we want to spend the day without technology, we just need to do something to entertain ourselves. I think that the main reason of this new addiction is boredom

  31. Live 24 hours without technology is possible, but only complicates our lives. I think we should distinguish positive technology from negative technology.

The first is what allows us to live a better life than the life of our ancestors lived 2,000 years ago. Just think of all the positive technology can offers, such as reducing the distances to communicate, the ease and time savings due to automatic payments .. the alarm the morning ...

Like any tool, even the technology can be used for malicious and illegal things. This doesn't mean that abolish the technology will solves problems , in fact, just think of the example of the knife .. it can be used to cut bread and cooking but also to commit crimes. Therefore the problem is not the instrument, but the intended use.
Also we shouldn't abuse technology to gain time instead to watch TV or get lost on Facebook, we should do something that will be beneficial to our body and our mind, as sports or read a good book in front of a cup of tea

So technology is important in our lifes but we have to control it and don't spend a big part in . We have to use that for pratic things .

  32. Hi everybody!
To my mind, technologies are a so important part of our lives that it might be extremely difficult for some people to spend an entire day without using their phone, computer or tablet. Furthermore, technologies help us a lot in plenty of cases particularly for the work. That's why I think it's not necessary to spent all day without technologies but it might be helpful to reduce frivolous uses of technologies such as video games or chat. Anyway, if I wanted, I could stop using my electronic devices for one day. Paradoxicaly, we are questionning internet and the connective world though we are currently posting our reflexion on the blog. This is modern life...

  33. I think that a lot of people can't live without technology because it's essential for their work for example and we live in a modern life with a lot of new ideas of technology so a lot of people want the new phone or the new tablet or the new computer this is the communication society but I think that it's possible to live 24 hours without technology or maybe 2 days per week cause I think that we don't need to use this one every day but this is my opinion and not the opinion of everybody of course... One day when I was in Australia for vacation, I remember that I haven't any wifi so I didn't use my phone one day and i'm still alive. For the people who are addicted, I think they can to remove the wifi they will no longer receive notifications or other things like that and they will be less tempted. To conclude, to my mind is possible to live without phone, computer, tablet one day even if we live in a world where technology remains important.

Mostly our generation because we are born in and know it only and she has always lived with. Although for me it’s still complicated, I know I’m capable and I have already done. Indeed, two years ago, I spent three weeks in Canada without internet or any electronic object expect the television that I wasn’t look not often. But today, I use every day my phone, my computer, but I don’t watch TV.

On the one hand, it was not that hard to be honest. I love being on phone but it was during the holidays so I had plenty of things to do!

But on the other hand I missed all the handy applications such as maps, dictionnaries or even Google. I also wanted to communicate with my friends about what I did during the day...

To put it all in a nutshell, we have to take control of technology to simplificate our life but we should not waste so much time to it.

  36. Hello !

Obviously we can live without internet! I made the exprerience for two months, where I was in the countryside with my grandmother. we have more time to enjoy of his family, his friends. Read books, play sports and more. For the last generation this may seem more complicated, they were born during the years when the Internet was the most developed. You can see a 10 year olds boy or girl with a phone that does not surprise anyone. this may be necessary in an emergency but still, I think the last phone brand is not essential. it becomes addictive to the point of not realizing the time you spend on it. this idea of a day without internet seems ideal, this day allows to realize the number of things you can do in one day and enjoy the things or people.

  37. In my personal opinion to live 24 hours hour without technology quite easy, all depends on the type of education, psychology and lifestyle .In our time, many activities tied to the use of the Internet or other types of communication of ourdays. The most important thing is not reach the extremity- completely ignore the development of technical progress and refuse to accept it or to live life on the other side of the screen and to communicate only with people on the network. In my personal experience, I can confidently say that the modern teenager can easily live a day without various gadgets we can still do reading today, sports, or just to go out and spend the day with friends

  38. Even if I do depend a lot on my phone or my computer, I could easily spend a day without using them and I already have several times. Especially when you're on vacation and visting a lot of places, you don't really have the need to check your phone, unless you're lost. There were also days where I unintentionally didn't use any electronic devices because either my phone's battery was dead and I didn't have a charger, or there was a blackout.
Although there were times when technology failed me, I still think that it's extremely helpful and that we shouldn't demonise phones. However, like everything else, we shouldn't use them for an extreme amount of time and it could be a great idea to try not to use our phones, computers or tablets for a day a week or a month.

On the other hand , personnally , i spend one day a week without any electronic device and i feel less tired and better because it is kind to get a break in the week.

  42. Nowadays technology take a big part of our life. If I had to spend a day without my phone or my computer it would be very difficult for me if I stay at home with nothing to do however if I spend that day with some friends for example it would be very easy for me because I have something more interesting to do than using my phone.
To conclude I would be able to spend a day without technology but only if I have something to do all the day.

  43. Hi Everybody
I think that technologie it's importante, it's just goes to have easy life, but it's not essential. This happened to me to be deprived of my phone or my computeur during a day or one month sadly:(
At the beginning it was strange , i thought that i would arrived had survival without, but we quickly do it, and it's less and less disturbing of step have them all the time.

  44. Nowadays, it's true that technology is very important and useful.
Of course, I would be able to spend an entire day without my phone, or my computer. It is not very difficult if I do something intersting. For example, if I travel, I prefer discovering the city than using my phone.
I think it would be harder to leave my phone for several days because it is very useful and it has become almost essential.
However, I think we should make break sometimes because it is not very good for us and for our health to be connected all the day.

  45. I think I can get rid of technologic devices for one day but it will be strange for me especially at home because when I arrived I watch films , videos , speak with my friends and even work on my computer but at school I didn't use my phone at all ! Nowadays technological devices are becoming more and more powerful and we become dependent of it and I find it very sad because in my opinion a good life is not when we cannot stop using something, it's like a drog and it can become very harmful for the physical and mental health !

We aren't accustomed to doing research with books because Internet use seems much simpler and "playful". Because the benefit of technologies and mobile it's they are especially fun. This seems essential for young people but also by other generation now with our parents for example.

  48. Speaking for myself, I can manage spending a day without my phone, because I broke my phone during the holidays so I didn't have a smartphone for 3 weeks! At first it felt weird because I was used to taking it out to check the time, or so! but after a few days I got used to it! What was frustrating was each time I wanted to check something on internet like the location of a place or the meaning of a word I had to find other ways of doing that like using a dictionary.. But it wasn't essential! But after a week or so I got used to it! What I missed the most was being able to listen to my music when ever I wanted or to take a picture when I saw something to photograph or to text a friend when needed! But I survived for three weeks! After that I thought of the actual use of these electronic devices but my conclusion was that they are simply only used for their functionalities that can be practical in every days life! But I have to admit that for some people who have a disease it can be vital for them to have a smartphone because there are some apps that remind you when to take your medicines or with smartwatches that can call the emergency number when it senses that you are in danger because they have sensors in them! A phone can also be essential when you are witness of an accident or something similar because it allows you to call the emergency's.

  49. We all leave in a world in need of new technologies but we become too dependent of technologies. Every day, every hours, every minute we are on this little screen which blinded our eyes. But we become addict of it, we need our dose of phone, computer or TV and if we don't have it, it's like : it's the end of world. Even if it is very useful we have to detach and become dependent of our-self. I think we are all able to live without it for on day and more but every thing is technologies now, we don't send letter but email, we don't use paper but Microsoft Office,we don't go to cinema but we have streaming etc. I know, I overstate but it true but it is only a vanity, "Momento Mori" from latin "Remenber you will die one day", technologies are consuming our time before realize we are going to die.

  57. Hi
In my opinion, there are two sides with the creation of these robots, a good side and a bad side. The good side is the following, it's always a positive thing to distract children so they won't never feel alone, robots have time, they are created for this purpose so they will always have time to play with children. The bad side is that a children needs parents and even if they don't have parents, they should be playing with adults or other children because it's important to keep contact with human people, isolation increase depression and human relationship is a good therapy for these children.

If I were one of these children, it would be awesome to play with one of these robots but it doesn't worth to play with real people.

I think that the technology has taken a big place in our society because everybody have a computer at home and go out with a phone,50 years ago the technology like today weren't the same and the people should find another way to disctrate theirselve, they were games and things like that but not on computers or phone because it didn't exist a this time so i think that if we make an effort we can find solution to ditract ourself. so in conclusion I think that if I make an effort I can find another way to ditract myself or just make an effort to not turn on a computer or a phone

  60. Personally I used to travel in the alps and on a sailing boat without any devices and internet access for more than 1week and it was not that hard,I think at one point technology takes too much importance in our daily lives and activities.Anyways it also depends and how busy was your day and if you were with people and wanted to share a great moment without being bothered. Thus,it can be a good way to retire from social pressure and to reconnect with what really matters in life.Futhermore I think electronic devices began to be an issue, particulary for children and young individuals because they can see themselves in a fictional world and not be aware of the difference between reality and fiction.

  61. Of course I be able to spend an entire day without using my mobile phone but on vacations only. Not on work time ( I really need my phone on this period). It's not too hard If it's just a day or maybe a week, you have to knowing good people: it's an huge help, it's true. With friends, time passed 10 times faster.
The most important is when you are with yours friends you don't need to take any picture because you already have all the pictures that it is possible to have; you don't need to call anybody because the persons you need to call usually are your friends; you don't need to go on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat because yours friends are real, right in front of you. So the cure for technology is friends.

There are a lot of arguments to enjoy technology but it seems to me that technology should not be indispensable, we have to use it reasonably. So, I can be able to spend an entire day without my phone.

  63. At present, new technologies are everywhere and are an integral part of everyday life. They help us in the life of every day and are effective tools. Return to a world without technology would avoid some of the negative excesses but it would also be a regression.

to answer to the question : "Would you be able to spend an entire day without using your mobile phone or your computer or your tablet?" The answer is yes I would be able to spend a day without a phone, computer, TV since I'm not dependent on these objects, but honestly I would find the time long because I'm not accustomed. My generation has always known technologies, they are part of our daily life, a balance. So for my part I don't think I can live without it for a long time unless remove technology became necessary, I would get used to living without.

  64. For sure I would be able to spend a day without any electronic devices because those don't answer a physiological need (just yet), as long as I don't have to do anything special that day, but would I do it just for the sake of trying ? Well, no, I don't feel like it would bring a new sense to my life nor be a learning experience, whereas when I'm spending time on the internet I'm learning things constantly, about people, science, culture and many other things. Being deprived of communication means such as a phone just kinda cuts me from the outside world, which is very paradoxal.

  67. Hi everyone !
First of all, many of us have become very dependent on technology as it plays a very important role in our daily lives. Like everything it has good sides and bad sides however some people class addiction to technology similar to drug cravings. For example, a lot of people could not live without their phones. More and more children would rather stay inside and play video games than go outside to play which is obviously a terrible habit.
As for me, I have already spent an entire day, even longer without using my mobile phone or my computer, etc... I found it easy because I was enjoying myself at the time with friends and family and I was not thinking at all about my phone. As a result, I think we tend to reach for our phones and laptops out of boredom.
All in all, I believe it's just a bad habit that can be easily broken.

  68. Hello everybody !
First of all, I think I would be able to spend a whole day without using my phone because I have done it yet.
To my mind, this is not so difficult as many people believe, in fact if we put aside the phone, there is a lot of things to do which are more interesting than looking everyday a phone's screen.
Besides, this could also be dangerous for our health because by looking at the screen, our eyes get tired faster, so we maybe will have to wear glasses if our view degrades over time.
Moreover, some scientists have shown that using his phone before going bed affects the good functioning of the nervous system and the metabolism.

On the other hand, phone can be seen as a really good thing and represents the technological progress indeed, nowadays everyone uses his phone and a lot of people has got a phone. With our phone we can do many things, sometimes "all", that's why is very important to have a phone in our society : we can work on phone, check the news whenever we want, call our friends, surf on the net and search information of all sorts...

To conclude, the phone has got good and bad sides so everyone can decided to use it or not but in my opinion there is essential and has got more good sides than bad.

Oh, I also forgot to say that today, if you don't have a phone you are kind of "dead" because you can't check the news and you can't be in contact with people so it's like you were shut in, and for me this seems to be so terrible...
But, like I have said yet, sometimes it's very good to let phone for a few days and relax... I already have done it and even though it can be strange at the beginning, then you will feel plenty of energy and this is so pleasing like feel. So I recommend it to everyone !

  69. Hi,
As you know, in a lot of countries, technology is very developed and most of our every day actions revolve around it.
Many jobs, work done in class, activities are made from it, so it would be very complicated to stop using it forever.
But stop using it for a day, that's very possible but some people would think that it is torture and that there is nothing else to do, but really you can actually spend real quality time with the people you love instead of just talking to them through your mobile devices.
Sure if you're all alone, you will be bored but if you're with at least one other person, that day can go buy really fast without you even noticing it.
I actually do this once a week, and you really have time to work, play real games, talk, laugh and enjoy something else than just sitting and watching your movie or your games.
I suggest you guys try it, maybe not every week but at least once in a while, it could really make a big difference not only for you but also for the people that you'll be giving attention to

Like everyone said perfectly, nowadays, we can't do something without technology. This is an addiction , worst than nicotine or drugs.. In my own experience , I can say that it is very difficult to spend an entire day without my phone because my favorite activity is to listen to music and I do that every day , it help me to forget some realities like daily problems .
Moreover , I can't remember the last day whitout using technology but I would like to try this experience one day, it would be interesting to see the world from a different perspective .

According to me,to live a whole day without an electronic device, especially for us, young people, is very difficult. However it is not impossible. Let us take the example of our parents. They grew up without mobile phones, computers.
But you should not forget the fact that we use mobile phones to phone to our family or friends, to watch movies,to listen to the music, consult the weather report and search information on the web.
Personally, I am very dependent on these devices despite their harmful effects.

  72. First and foremost I want to say that I love the new technologies. We can do a lot of things by using a phone or a computer. It allowed us to talk with our friends even if they lived in an other country. We can also “meet” some people thanks to all the networks. By example, if you play an online video game you can write to an other player.
I cannot even imagine to live, during one month, without my phone, which allows me to speak to my best friend, who lives in London.
Despite that, live without our phone during only one day it's easier, it's an excuse to rest, to have a break. These new technologies are omnipresent nowadays and we are used to use them. However we can forget the real life, a video game or a TV show allow us to escape but it should not become a problem.

By adding to it that most of the TV channels are not interesting program.

  75. Technology represents the evolution of human society.
It has become indispensable for different reasons: firstly, it is widely used in different trades where it is the main tool or is part of the indispensable tools.
Outside of work, that is to say in everyday life, it has become our daily life between smartphones, headphones, computers, ... Anyway, without them, we can not do anything anymore because we live with them.
For my part, I already had the opportunity to realize this "digital detox" ... by confiscating my phone during 2 days and here are the consequences: no social networks, no contact with my friends, no information, no entertainment between hours of work ... Nothing! I felt like a caveman! I had never been so bored! And when I got it back, I thought I was resurrecting.
It shows how much man has become a slave to technology !

Technology is in this day and age very important.
However some undeveloped countries don’t have access or can’t finance technology.

I think if I really had to, I could spend a day without using my phone or computer. It does sound quite bad when you say you couldn’t spend a day without these devices but you could be surprised at how often we use then. When I do my homework I use them, when I want to look up something on internet I use them, when I listen to music it’s on my phone, when I watch a film it’s usually on my computer.
Even though it would be quite hard, I think it would be a good idea to spend a day without computers and phones, we would probably enjoy like even more without them.
