Sweden

I really loved the Sweden trip, we did a lot of amazing things, we visited some museums and zoo, we walked in the streets and bought souvenirs, so what did you prefer? It was different from  Ireland because we had a pen friend, can you describe your experience with them? What did you learn about the Swedish culture (words, lifestyle, clothes)?
NB (Fabian, Amaury, Clémence): Which country would you like to visit and why?

  1. Hello !
To begin with, Thank you Mathieu, this subject is really interesting!
To my mind this trip was one of the best of my life, I can't compare it to Ireland because, in Sweden we created links with our pen friend and now I can say that Thea is my friend. This experience was amazing because we learnt about a new culture, we met really kind people...
One of my favourite part of the trip was when on friday night we made Pizzas at Thea's house with Saga and Emilie, this moment was really funny!
Moreover I can say: Jag älskar dig= I love you and I can count up to 6, I also learned swear word!
To finish, Thank you so much Mrs Ricketts for this amazing trip !

  2. Hi everybody !

I think Sweden was very good ! That was one of my favourite trip because I was with my friends and I also created new friendship from another country. I didn't have a pen frend but I was with the teacher Catharina who had 3 lovely girls with who I got along very fast. I also met a bunch of Swedish pen friend from my friends with who I really liked spending time. I even invited them for summer. My favourites moments were the one on the host family, they actually looked like mine. I think their culture is very awesome, they are very welcoming and I think their social piolitic is very honorable.

  3. Hello!
First of all, I have two pen friends: Tilde and Tyra. They are very nice and funny, and we had a great time together ! They were friends with the pen friends of marie, clara and coline so we were often together in the afternoon and in the evening. We keep in touch with them and I think they will probably visit us this summer in Nice!

Concerning the country, I think that Sweden is very beautiful and peaceful. I really like Stockholm, and also Nacka, I would love to live there (but only in summer, because it is too cold in winter!). About the activities, what I liked the most is "ABBA museum".

Finally, I think that swedish people are very nice, open-minded, and welcoming.

  4. Hi everyone,
Like you, I loved the trip. We had the opportunity to discover new places, the Swedish way of life because we had a pen friend but we also improved our english.
Then, to answer you question, we did so many good things and it's hard to decide which one was the best ! However, one of the best moments during the trip was when I went to a lake with Nadia (my pen friend) with some of French students and their pen friends. Indeed, even though the water was extremely cold, we enjoyed the landscape which was wonderful.
Moreover, I loved when we went to their school and we cooked ! It was a funny moment when I could find out more about my pen friend and the Swedish culture. In fact, the French and Swedish cultures are very different. For exemple, their eat very early compared to us (one day we ate the dinner at 4pm !).
To put all in a nutshell, this trip was a very good experience, and Sweden is a beautiful country. Finally, my pen friend became my friend and I still talk to her thanks to social networks.

  5. Hello !

    - As for me, it was my first time in Sweden, and I loved it so much that I would love to go back one day...

    - Like Mathieu said, it was really different than in Ireland because we have a pen-friend and it completely changed the trip because we lived the real swedish life. In fact my pen friend who called Miranda was really nice, her parents and her brother too, they welcomed me very well. I had my own bedroom and bathroom but I never really stayed there, except to sleep because we spent all our time together. Furthermore, I learned many things about swedish culture like lots of people have his sauna or jacuzzi, that every friday, it was a tradition to eat tacos and many people have a big swedish flag in the garden. Moreover all the museum were very interesting but in my opinion the best was ABBA's museum because it was a mix between history and fun indeed we learned lots of things about this group but we also danced and sang a lot. Normally this summer Miranda will come to Nice with friends and I said that she was more than welcome.

    - Finally I would like to thanks Mrs. Ricketts for the organization of the trip and Mrs. Santos too.

  6. Hi everyone!
To begin with I loved the Swedish trio also. It was another type of trip and, as for me, the best. Indeed, the landscapes are wonderful although it would be awesome to see more. Moreover, I really enjoyed the bowling and the nights with my pen-friend because we spoke English and I discovered thanks to her a new culture. Nevertheless, their language is hard to learn for us and that's why I learnt some sentences such as: Jag heter Lena och jag är sjutton år gammal ( hello I'm Lena and I'm 16 years old). On the other side, museums and shopping center were great and we had fun. Moreover their traditions are amazing for instance: they eat tacos on Friday night and they always hug whereas we don't.
As a conclusion the trip was awesome and I would have liked to stay there for months...

  7. Hello Mathieu,
I enjoyed our trip very much, just like you.
We indeed did a lot of interesting activities and I spent such good times with my pen friend, Linnea. She was actually very nice and I hope we will keep in touch. Every Swedish were super kind with all of us and we are grateful.
I wish they could come in Nice to see us again.
To be honest, I would have liked to stay longer.
Last but not least, I would like to thank Mrs Ricketts to give us the opportunity to discover different countries. What will be the next destination...?

  8. Hi everyone,
I'm glad Miss Ricketts gave us the opportunity to go to Sweden and have a great time. Indeed, like you said we did a lot of amazing things. We visited many museums but I have to say that I, like many others, preferred the ABBA museum, we also got to discover the wonderful city and most importantly the Swedish lifestyle.
First of all, one of my favourite moments spent in Sweden was with my host Alma, her friend Josefin and Salomé. We went to a Swedish concert in a themed park meaning we got to go on many roller coasters while listening to Swedish songs. It was really fun since neither Salomé nor I understood the lyrics.
Secondly, I didn't go to Ireland last year so I can't compare the trips but I had a great experience with my host family. Swedes are very welcoming and friendly. Alma wasn't my pen friend so it was the first time I met her, at first I was a bit sceptical about staying with a stranger but I ended up getting along with her and really liking her.
Finally, I think Swedes have a very relaxed lifestyle. As for their fashion sense, they wear a lot of clothes from the 80s but in general they wear the same kind of clothes as the rest of the world.
I had a wonderful time in Sweden so it was difficult to pick just one favourite activity. All in all, it's a great souvenir !

  9. Hello Mathieu,

Sweden is a beautiful country and swedish people are very open-minded and welcomming .
First when we met with them at the train station , we got hugs from them and the first time is very weird when we don't use to have this kind of welcome.
During the swedish trip,we did a lot a things but one of my favorite visit was the ABBA Museum where we sang and danced together.
However , I loved spending time with the swedish students , they were so funny and kind with us and I miss them already. I noted that swedish way of life is diferent from french way of life , in school system or the mentality . I learned from my host family that a word exist to say if you feel like a girl or a men ,regardless of the fact that you are the contrary of what you think.
I really loved Sweden and I would like to do a same trip for the next year .^^

  10. Hello !

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for this trip !
The teachers of course, but also my classmates who contributed to give me great memories!
I had so much fun it would be hard chosing a favorite but I liked the 2 hours we spent a Skanssen...
Then, I also have to thank my penfriend Li's family! They were so wonderfull with me all week, and I think they have an amazing way of life. They do not seem to be stressed about school, work or anything in particular. As for the food, we ate simple yet very good dishes (for exemple some tasteful salmon.
In my opinion, it depends of course on people but I do think that swedish people are welcoming.

To conclude, I loved Stockholm and swedish people and it made me even more eager to discover new cultures !!!

  11. hello everyone,
As for me, I loved this trip in Sweden. I had the nicest penfriend I could had. I think that the moments I preferred was those I spend with Thea and her family, we always exchanged about us.Thea and I, had pretty much the same interests, we were like always agreeing with each others thought. And also I loved those times at the Lake with both Swedish and French students.

  12. Hi ,
Like everyone, I loved the trip. We had the opportunity to discover new places, and it was really different and better than the Ireland tript because we had a pen friend but we also improved our english. In fact my pen friend who called Adam was really nice, his parents and his brother too, they welcomed me very well. I had my own bedroom and bathroom but I never really stayed there, except to sleep because we spent all our time together. My house was near Mathieu's one and we went with bike everywhere. It was really nice to go to the lake or the beach together. I also like the shops, the museums and every places we went to. I also liked this trip because swedish girls found me cute.

To conclude, I want to thank Mrs Ricketts to give us the opportunity to discover Sweden and maybe an other country the net year...
