I love music. It's really powerful. It can greatly determine one's mood and subsequently, his actions. Being a christian, I love to listen to gospel. I also love alternative, reggeaton and of late, I have been trying to familiarize myself with French music. I love Zaho. I have her album and I listen to it everyday. Still don't understand most of what she says but it improves my french. Anyway, I'm saying all this to say I need some help to find some more french music like what she does as well as some french gospel music. S'il vous plait! Merci beaucoup en avance :-)
I love and enjoy listening to gospel music, because it allows me to have a closer connection to God and soothes my mind. I believe that gospel music is the best type of music to allow an individual to be calm.
My name is Fiona. Like Yvonne, I love and enjoy gospel music. This is because it is the only music that draws me closer to God, and give me such peace that noone or nothing else can give. Also I love to sing and I can use gospel music to minister to others. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share.
I love several genres of music. I mostly listen to gospel now because I have discovered that it has a calming effect on me when I am stressed out and need to relax. Music is, in my opinion, an excellent way to express emotions in a way that words cannot.
As a christian i love and enjoy listening to gospel music and im a Jamaican so i love my local gospel music. it makes me feel at home and closer to God. i also love smooth gospel, nothing more or less. Gospel music all the way
I listen to Rock music because it's the only music which makes beat my heart and which me fine. My favourite groups are Nirvana, Red hot chili peppers and Pink floyd...
( question 2 ) I don't think that one of the two more important that the other one. abose all it depends on the song. Sometimes the music has a grat impact on me even if I can't understand the lyrics. On the other side some songs could have a considerable impact one me thanks to their words that used in order to defend a thought. In fact through music the singer adresse a message thanks to the music as well as the lyrics.
I love music. I don't listen juste a kind of music, and for me the lyrics are as important as the song and the voice of the singer. In my mind a music isn't good if the lyrics aren't good and it's not better if the lyrics are good but not the song.
I like the music when I make nothing I always have my MP3 in ears. I listen to the music in the bus in the car all the time. To me I have 150 CD.I listen to mostly the french variety but also the song of th 80' which make dance.I also listen to the house techno. I find french songs so beautiful. I like very much Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf..... Later I like very much the song of th 80'because they are dance and they are great for evenings... The techno and house music are very also to dance but I find that it is a little bit répétitive.
I love many kinds of music. I have been playing cello for 10 years but I don't like just the classical music but almost every kind of music. I think that the lyrics and the music of a song are important because,in my opinion, a song with good lyrics and a bad music or a song with bad lyrics and a good music is not a true song and doesn't touch me at all.
Question: What do you think is more important in a song: the lyrics or the music? Explain your answer.
Answer: For me, it depends on what is important for the writer of the song. Some songs are made to bring a message, to react about something, and then the lyrics are very important and the music is not so important. Dear Mr President is some of these songs. P!nk (read Pink) wants to send a message: it is a rebellious song, in which the important thing is not the music, but the lyrics. Some other songs are made only for their music, for the rhythm. It’s the case of the Beatle’s song: who cares about the walrus’ character (I’m the walrus), the submarine (Yellow submarine) or the banker (Penny Lane)? All these songs have everyway became very famous songs, for their music. But that answer introduces another problem: if a text is made for its lyrics, is it really a song? Because I must say that P!nk’s text is not a song for me. But that is another problem. So I’d say that the most important in a song is the music. That is personal advice, react if you want.
I think that the lyrics and the music of a song are important. But I can't say that the music is more important than the lyrics and vice versa : it' depend on a lot of things (the kind of music, the language, if it's the first time that we hear the song,...).For exemple, in rap, the lyrics are more important than the music, because the music is'nt very sophisticated. Techno and house music are good to dance, but there is a lot of repetition in the music and lyrics. And in classic music, the music is more important than the lyrics. I think that it's depend too of the language. For ewemple, when I hear a french song, I can the lyrics understand, so they are important. But when I hear for the first time an english song, music is more important than the lyrics because I can't them understand. So, I think that lyrics and music in a song are important, but once is more important than the other and vice versa in different kind of music, or language.
I hear all kinds of songs , basically , my favourite songs are the ones which make me feel a lot of things , therefore I love some songs without any lyrics and I love some songs without any music too( only the voice ) . For example , before the holidays , when we sang "Silent night " , I found it was quite funny .
But I think that actually , the most important in a song is the lyrics because if an author wants to spill an idea , he has to use definitly some words. Sometimes some singers have such a nice voice that the voice looks like music . And a good shake of lyrics and musics is usually a great song . Michael Jackson will always let my favourite singer !
Hello followers, Wouldn't it be nice, if each of you learn from each other? Avoid making the same mistakes... read over what you write and some of the other comments just to avoid unnecessary mistakes.... ex. "To depend on", "music" without "s", classical music.... Remember the aim is to improve your English. Keep on writing even with your mistakes, you are doing just fine.
P!nk is an american singer. She is 30 years old and this song part of her album « I’m not dead » released in 2006. The fifth song is « Dear Mr President » and it is our subject. P!nk speaks directly to Mr Bush and she attacks him with wonderful and shoking words. The melody is played with a guitar and in her concerts, peoples who hear this song cry very often. This song is an anthem for americans and it switchs to radio everyday. This song is my favorite and I know it by heart. I have loved learn the lyrics because I find them very pretty. They are touching and P!nk does feel this emotion in her vocal. It is a song witch I can listen millions of times. I love it and I feel transported ! I am a P!nk’s fan. I enjoy how she writes. She says always the truth and she does a share between her soul and our hearts.
Mrs.Ricketts asked us to rewrite "No woman no Cry" by Bob Marley. So this is the one Marine and I made up:
No heaven no hell
No heaven no hell (x4)
Said said, Is there really a place where we go after death ? Or do we just lie beneath the earth ? Is there really a place in the sky, Where a god would live looking after us? And what about hell? Where devils were supposed to live....... From the begining. Does a judge decide where we have to go? Or are we able to choose?
No heaven no hell (x2) Oh my little darling, don't worry about it No heaven no hell
Is there really a place where we go after death? Or do we just lie beneath the earth? I am so sure that none of them exists So we all gonna meet again somewhere please don't cry when someone dies Cause you gonna find him again
Even if we all die someday I know it's difficult to lose someone But i gotta say
Everything is gonna be alright (x8)
No heaven no hell (x2) Oh my little darling, don't worry about it No heaven, no hell
No heaven no hell Is there really a place where we go after death? Or do we just lie beneath the earth? I am so sure that none of them exists So we all gonna meet again somewhere please don't cry when someone dies Cause you gonna find him again
Even if we all die someday I know it's difficult to lose someone But i gotta say No heaven no hell, no, no heaven no hell Oh my little darling, Don't worry about it No heaven no hell Little sister, don't worry about it No heaven no hell
So what do you thing about it? Maybe you could try to sing it with the music but it works only on the rythm of the live version. You can find it without any problem on youtube.
I listen principally blues, jazz, rock how like Queen, Ray Charles, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Louis Armstrong, etc, because thier songs and rythms are so good to listen !! Even if I listen an other muiscs, it's this kind I like because now music is totally bad I tkhink..!
I listen of the american rap and the R&b because I love the American singers and the rhythm of these songs .It is musics which have a precise meaning and which also allow to dance in the evening.
Hello everyone ! I like to listen to some Brutal Death Metal. The bands I prefer are "Cannibal Corpse", "Rings of Saturn", "Cytotoxin" and "Animals killing people" (which is more grindcore than brutal death, but it's kind of the same thing). I like this music genre because it helps me relax and work. I listen to Technical Melodic Death Metal or Deathcore too, because of the epic side of the music, and the fact that it's sometime very impressive to listen to because of the speed the musicians are performing. Those music genres are subgenres of Heavy Metal, but with a more aggressive rythm and a particluar singing technique, the "Growl". I personnally think that in a song, the most important part is the music itself but it depends of the music genre that is played. In the music I listen to, the singing part is one of the instrument of the song. We can't understand informations from the other instruments of the song, but it can express feelings, just like the singing part of the song. I listen to some songs in which I can't even understand the lyrics (because it's in another language, or because it's just not understandable at all), and, as a musician that doesn't like singing, I prefer listening to a great musical performance rather than listening to the most beautiful lyrics of all time, but with a simple melody. I think that it depends of the music genre genre that is played. In some rap music for example, the lyrics will be more important than the music itself.
Hello! I listen a lot of french rap because the lyrics have a meaning. The rappers talk about things of th real life. But sometimes their voice are tu much change and i don’t like this. I like also all musics. Thank you for your attention.
Music in general allows me to escape, to express my emotions. When I listen to it, I can choose to leave my problems behind and let myself be transport by the music and its melody that resonates deeply in my ears. A whole story is created in my head, I feel the emotions of the singer, what he wants to say through the lyrics, what he is trying to express.
I mainly listen rock and punk music, like Queen, Green Day, Nirvana, Cigarettes After Sex, Oliver Tree, and many others. I find it's very powerful, very relaxing despite the strong electric guitar chords and drums. People think that rock/punk music is just a few people shouting during all the music, but it's much more than that. It's deep words, a touching story behind the voice that makes us want to cry and scream. And it's precisely this power in the voice that makes our rib cage vibrate, reminds us that we are alive and makes our head spin like a demonic drug.
Listen until the end, with your eyes closed, to "The Drug In Me Is Reimagined" by Falling In Reverse. This song is a wonder, the ending is surprising and makes us want to scream as loud as the singer. My heart beats when I know that this moment is approaching, every time I listen. If you tell yourself while listening to him that he screams too loud, that it is unbearable, then you have not understood anything.
I like to listen pop-music because it’s cool in my opinion, but I am open to all type of music. I like to listen Alan Walker and other famous music creators. Firstly, I listen music to feel myself powerful and energetic. Actually, I am listening to “Frozy – Kompa” as I write this and beats are so good it makes me feel awesome. Also, I adore genre of music called phonk. It gives different vibes, sometimes sad, but sometimes fun and motivational. Commonly I listen phonk when I am siting in the car.
I listen to alternatives because each song has a message to bring across and is not just a mere beat to dance to.
ReplyDeleteI love to listen to Reggaeton because it has a nice beat to groove to and it helps me with Spanish- por eso..creo que es la mejor musica de todas :)
