Dreams

Should we follow our dreams or curtail them according to our situations?

  1. During childhood , dream is in every thought. The success of fairy-tales show it : a child wants to be a prince or a princess. However, when we grow-up there is disillusion : we can't get whatever we want , and can't be what we dreamed of ... But it's not a fatality : the person we wanted to become remains into our minds and eventhough some situations curtail our possibility to succeed , we can try ... We can wonder if following our dreams must be more important than anything else .

One the one hand, following our dreams should obviously be the most important . Firstly , for individual happiness , we ought to emancipate ourself from the society and parents expectations about what we should do or be . Would Harriet, in "the Fifth Child" have managed to go to an art college if she didn't leave his house at the age of eighteen ? Evidently no . She decided to fulfill her dream before what her mother expected her to do .
Secondly, if someone live in the misery , what can he do to improve in his life whether he doesn't have a dream ? Madonna had just ten dollars when she arrived in New-York. Her great expectation to become a celebrity has made the rich and famous person that we nowaday know .

However , some situations restrict our dreams and we have to curtail them. First of all whether our reason is beyond our dreams. For exemple, Harriet decided in spite of his violence, to get back with her fifth child . Indeed, she chose to drop her warmful family-life to look after him .
Last but not least ,how could we do to manage in life if we just have dreams and no money or no ability to reach them ? Madonna worked hardly her technic before hoping the first place ...

Therfore, it is query of consciousness . If the sense of responsability is stronger than dreaming , curtailing our dreams is better . But if dreaming makes us being alive, we ought to keep on doing it ...

  2. "Success shows...... is still in our memories/we still remember who we wanted to be/we haven't forgotten who we wanted to be....... even though ....from parents........go to art college......obviously not....... fulfil...... in spite of what her mother wanted her to do ......someone lives in misery ..... how will he improve his life if he/she hasn't got a dream? Madonna only had $10.......her great willpower........ person that we know today.

Attention! whether/or.......to go for her..... How would we be able to cope in life if we only had dreams and no money..... to fulfil them? Madonna had to work hard on her technique to succeed. responsibility......but if dreaming makes you more lively...

  3. We have to follow our dreams if we are sure that they can be true. Of course everythings are not possible and we have to be lucid but why not believe in our dream ? It is a way of life !

  5. Dreaming always helped humans to improve themselves. For example, how planes would have been created if some people hadn't dreamed of it.
Everybody dreams, it's a fact. Even if I know it's too simplified, I think there are two categories of dreamers: the ones who just dream knowing they will never achieve the aims of their dreams, and the others who sincerely think their dreams can be realised.
All the people who did what they wanted of their lifes composed the second categories of dreamers. Of course, some who are in this category didn't and won't realise their dreams, there was just one Einstein and there always will be. Willing to be Einstein enormously is not enough, some dreams can't be realised. Although I'm not saying that one category of dreamers is good whereas the other is bad, I truly think the ones who have the most of chance to achieve their dreams are the ones who would do anything to make them happening.

To conclude, I would say that where there is a will, there is a way. Steve Jobs wan an orphan, but he founded Apple Company which is one of the most important company in the world nowadays. We should all take him as an exemple and don't curtail our dreams

  8. No mark/grade is better than an average mark/grade when you can get "A/B" , (especially if you could get "A") don't you think so?
