Nope, I made no mistake: you say "fête de la musique" all over the world, since it was initiated by French people.
So, the idea here is not to create a discussion as usual, but rather that you all tell what your favourite musics (/kinds of music/composers/players...) are.
That's a very interesting subject! I absolutly love listening to music and I have to do it at least once a day! And it comes at a very good moment as summer is getting closer! I usually have a summer playlist that will follow me the whole season though some others songs will be added during those months. I mostly listen to every kind of music, at least I appreciate all types, but my preferences would go the pop and electro music because that's where I can the most find myself. I'm actually listening to the new album of the group Maroon 5 (very famous american band), called V, and I found all their songs, without exception, absolutly amazing. It's a band I know since many years and all I can say is that they improve each year their music and I admire them a lot. You should also know about John Legend who is an american pianist and singer I appreciate a lot because each of his songs are full of true emotions, and I can recommand you "Glory" which was the soundtrack of the movie Selma, and also "All of me" which became definitely one of my favourite songs ever. I could also talk about Ed Sheeran indefinitely but he's a very known artist and his success is not recent but I can say at least that he never disappointed me with any of his songs so that means a lot. You should listen to "I see fire", the soundtrack of "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug", and give me your opinion. About another category : I like remix too, it's like they give a new life to some musics which need to be refreshed a bit, so here are some good ones: "Cigarette song" from Raury (Snakehips remix), or "Nobody to love" from Sigma, or "Where are ü now" from Skrillex and Duplo, or "Games" from TCTS, and "Uncover" from Zara Larsson (Extan remix). I hope you will enjoy some of them and don't miss the Fête de la musique on June 21rst which will also be the first day of summer, so make sure you will listen to some music at least this day of the year!
Hey, thanks! I listened to all of this (hum… while working, of course *cough*), and generally found them nice, althought I think only Ed Sheeran (and perhaps John Legend’s “Glory”, but as a “one-hit wonder”) have a chance to make it to the list of my favourite composers, but that’s probably because I’m extremely demanding about music (like… really).
Also, I noticed that you suggested only vocal music. No love for instrumental works?
