Should government spend more money on improving roads and highways, or should government spend more money on improving public transportation (buses, trains, subway) ? Why?
Hello, to answer this question I want to say that the government is here to improove the situation of his citizens (generally). So, it must improove all the aspects of the society. But if we have to choose between the roads, highways andpublic transportation I'd choose the first thing, because if we have a lot of transports but bad roads we can not use them (transports) or we can but badly. In fact, we can first build roads and highways and after spend money on improving public transportation but wr can't first build transports and after build roads, it is illogical and useless. To my mind, it’s obvious that government must to dispense more money to improving public transport. First, I think that publics transports are very useful, they allow to move from the youngest age. For example, kids can go to school with the tramways instead of the car with his parents. When we don’t have the driver’s license, we can move everywhere. Then, it less pollutes less that car, there are too much car in the city while we can build other public transports. It’s a good way to move for old people or handicap people. To conclude, I think that publics transports are the future way of transport.
The question is dealling with the fact that person have to choose between public transportation as bus or private as car. If the governement is improving private transportation, people will drive more by theirselves and we will have more car on roads, obviously cause a lot of pollution. Also it will decrease the number of driver so the number of dead by accident. However, improving the public one will decrease the pollution by reducing the number of car and will provide a better relationship to the users of the public transportation like the subway.

Hello everyone, In my opinion the government should spend more money improving public transportation because if everyone was to drive to work everyday the pollution would increase enormously, and I think that these days one should think about the nature and the environment therefor spending money on roads and highways might not be the best idea. Moreover the government should encourage people to take the train or tramway to get to work/ school instead of using their car and a good way of doing so is creating a clean and well functioning public transport. To conclude the government should invest in public transportation for our well being and the well being of the nature.
I think the government need to improve the situation of citizens in towns, like the public transportation for those who doesn't have a car so they will be at the same level than people with cars. We don't need too much highways or roads because there is already to much of them in the cities and abroad. In fact, the pollution could be at lesser levels if drivers were less on the roads... I don't really think it is a good idea to have more roads, it could be really confusing and I don't know... Maybe more dangerous for those who are walking in the streets. So yeah, more improvement on public transportation than for creating roads.

It is quite clear that traffic congestion is a serious problem in many big cities. If a city has a very good transportation system, people would be willing to use the public transportation. In this situation it will reduce the number of cars entering the road, relieve the traffic jam, and increase the traffic efficiency. From my point of view, I think it would be better for the government to spend money on streetcars, subways and trains. First, these three modes of transport do not use oil and also allow a large number of people to be transported at the same time, so these modes of transport are more environmentally friendly and, at the same time, sustainable. Moreover, if, over time, cars were replaced by these three modes of transport as well as by bicycles, skates and others, cities would become pedestrian, quieter and more pleasant to live in. It would also reduce accidents, allow people to be physically active and even allow most people to become punctual.
Personally, I think the government should spend more money to improve roads and highways because population growth continues to increase,the automotive market is still active, there are more and more new drivers. Hi , As everybody has said, I think that the governement should spend more money on improving public transportation because riding public transport is cheaper than riding in your own car : a bus or a tram ticket costs 1.50 whereas buying a car and the fuel costs a lot more than 1.50. Then when you use your car, you are polluting the atmosphere with all the gas that the car emits. We all know that France is in a crisis, the crisis of the yellow jackets, and in my opinion, developing public transports could help to get out of that crisis.
In one hand, people use road the most. So renovate them wouldn't be a bad idea. On the other hand, improving public transportation is better for environment, and it would encourage people to use them instead of taking the car.
This question is actually hard to answer because we should spend more money on both.
First of all, roads and highways are always under construction and it beget trafic jam. Moreover, we know that highways are in really bad condition in some area of the country. People are complaining and do not always agree with the gouvernment’s choices.
To my mind, gouvernment should spend more money on public transportation like buses, trains or subways because pollution is increasing. By improving public transportation people won’t need to use their car for small distance and it would make a change. Indeed if people start using more public transportation, there will be less trafic jam and pollution will be reduced. As a result, roads will be less damaged and gourvernment won’t have to spend money on repair.

I really think that the government should spend more money to improve public transports. Firstly, it is really cheaper, and it is also better environment. But it is also a good way to reduce noise and visual pollution. If less people were using public transport, air we breathe would probably be cleaner. Moreover, car is less ecological than Subway or buses because, even if they use electricity for subway or fuel for buses, they can carry more users than personal car. Also, highway or road are not good construction because they are not nice and they caused problem with water drain. Finally because road are made with sand and this is a endangered resource. I think the government should spend more money to improve public transportation. Not everyone would like that, but I think it would force people to take public transportation rather than the car, which is individual.
It is an ecological issue, because the world is currently going to a disastrous end. Everyone is too selfish to make an effort. Each individual, companies or governments, everyone think only of money or their comfort but who thinks of the comfort of their children and the world they leave them? It's too easy to have fun and let others clean up for later.
Government has a lot of areas to improve to give people a better life condition.

Transports like bus and metro have to be fast because if we spend a lot of time in it we lost precious time in fact when buses or train are really fast we can be more productive.In addition for the environment public transports are a better option , car use pollute more than public transports and for the environmental protection it’s important to minimize greenhouse gas emissions.
