Are you worried about the new virus discovered in China or not at all ? Why ?

  1. Hello everyone,

I am worried about the coronavirus which was first discovered in China and that has now spread to France since a Chinese lady who was infected by the virus travelled to Paris.
It is spreading extremely fast because it is very contagious, several people in Paris and Bordeaux are infected. What makes me really worried is that the authorities and the government aren’t doing much to prevent people who are infected by the virus from travelling around the place. If we just breathe the same air as someone who is infected we can catch the virus, I find that concept very scary since the virus is deadly. It’s in moments like this that we understand how fragile life is.

  2. Hi,
I'm not really afraid of the new virus because in our time scientifics who work for everyone's healths will hard work and find out a solution to this problem. I think that we should take care of what we eat in order not to get sick.
Besides, I'm more afraid of the fact that many disasters appear out of nowhere at the same time. For exemple, we have the terrible situation in Australia, we have this virus and the earthquake in Turkey.

  3. Yes, I am quite worried about this virus. First of all, because in France there are already three cases and this virus deploys very quickly without being seen because it has the same symptoms as a flu. In China, more than 1300 people are already affected by this virus and 41 people have died from it. However, other viruses are more serious than this. That's why I think that if you want to avoid catching the "corronavirus" you must above all protect yourself well by starting to disinfect your hands often.

  4. Hello,
Of course, I am worried about the coronavirus because in just a few weeks, this deadly virus began to spread throughout Asia before reaching the United States and Australia. And it is now present in Europe in France where we have discovered for the moment 3 cases. French Minister of Health Agnès Buzyn expects the number of cases to increase in the coming days and weeks. We must treat this epidemic as we treat a fire, quickly to locate the source and contain it as quickly as possible because we do not know exactly how quickly it spreads. This virus is similar to the H1N1 flu virus from 2010: we did not know how dangerous the virus was, so many people were vaccinated. The World Health Organization has stopped calling it a global health emergency. We must therefore take precautions. An epidemic can be devastating and fearful. We are currently saying that the end of humanity on earth could happen due to climate change, but it could also happen with a new unknown virus or a new disease.

  5. Hello,

I am quite divided on this subject. I am worried because every day new cases are discovered and the virus has already killed a hundred people.
But on the other hand, many people in the scientific community are looking for a vaccine. I hope that the virus will not spread even more and that a vaccine will be found quickly.
I also saw in an article that Europeans living in China want to be repatriated. I hope that their wish will not be granted because it could spread the virus in many countries not yet reached.

  6. Hello everyone,
the corona virus appeared in China, scaring the whole world because scientists have still not found a vaccine, and the number of deaths, the number of infects as well as the number of countries where the virus is spreading is increasing. However, I don’t think we should worry too much about this virus because in China, next to the city of Wuhan, a hospital of a thousand beds, exclusively dedicated to the reception of coronavirus patients began to be built on January 24 and should be finished on February 3. Important steps were therefore taken to find a way to cure infected people and prevent the spread of the virus.

  7. Hello, this virus discovered in China appeared because of a snake sold at a market in Wuhan that ate a bat which had the virus. There is currently around 200 persons who died from it in China and there is 6 persons hospitalised in France. Also, it is true that a lot of people fear the virus because it spreads quite quickly all over the world, but personally I am not really worried about this new virus. Indeed, it appeared in China, which is the most polluting and crowded country in the worlds with more than 3 billion inhabitants. Moreover, we all know that our planet is overpopulated and human beings are seriously harmful for the preservation of ecosystems and biodiversity. Otherwise there are still very influente people who think that climate change doesn't exist like president Trump, which is really alarming. Indeed it is probably that the nature takes back its rights and I also think that this virus is probably related to a sort of natural selection because everytime that there was an epidemy on Earth, this one was overcrowded.

  8. Hi,
This new virus dicovered in China is actually called the "Coronavirus", it's a virus that has flu-like symptoms, it causes respiratory problems among other things, but what is concerning is the number of deaths, indeed until this date more than 300 people died from it.
But surprisingly I'm not scared because in my opinion to be paranoid would be doing a terrible disservice to the medical staff which works hard to find a cure. Plus, if we distrust each other and doubt every second that we're going to get the virus, I think we'd be more likely to get a case of hypochondria than actual symptoms, causing hospital overload.
Eventually, because the virus spreads pretty fast we should accept the possibility that it could enter our city. At this moment, the best thing to do is to prevent the symptoms by following the advice of professionals, but unfortunately for the moment there is nothing more we can do about it and we do not have the ability nor the means to eradicate this virus, so panicking seems useless to me.

  9. First of all,
I would say that I am worried about what it’s going on in China.
In fact, if the virus proliferate it could do more and more death like in 2003: the sras virus that did 623 deaths.
But at this point the population who might have this virus is in quarantine and a hospital has been built I ten days. Moreover, the flight of Brithish airways and Air France from China has been cancelled.
Therefore, we can be reassured because there is no contaminated person in France and it surely will not have any.
Finally, if the European politicians take measures about the proliferation of this virus it might stopped before it comes to France.

  10. Hi everyone,
I think that the new virus in China is quite concerning like any virus. I don’t know how to react to this anxiety. The flu kills some people every year and nobody is scared... But I admit that I am kind of hypochondriac and I am really frightened easily. I think we all have to respect security rules, like washing our hands and disinfect them a lot.

  11. Hey,
I'm not particularly afraid of this virus. I have many other problems in my life, and I don't think I will ever do anything to directly affect anything like this virus. Therefore, why should I worry about it? It does seem pretty terrible how big an effect it is having, and how many people it is killing, but especially in tumultuous times of life, it is more important to focus on what one can do, than what isn't being done, in my opinion.

  12. hello everyone,
I am worried about the coronavirus because it seems to be very infectious and has spread to many countries in a matter of weeks even with the amount of precautions taken by countries around the world. And even though science nowadays is very advanced and we have found cures and vaccines against numerous viruses and diseases we still haven't found a cure for AIDS that comes from HIV which is a virus. I have a lot of faith in science and our capacities to overcome these diseases and viruses I am scared that they could kill us before we find the cure.
Also, I just wanted to add that since this virus has come about, a lot of people have labelled it as "an Asian disease" which has cause racial discrimination towards Chinese, Japanese and Koreans which is disgraceful! For example, a man in America who was born in america, whose parents were Chinese and who had never stepped foot in China chocked to death in the streets because everyone refused to give him CPR due to the fact that "he might have the coronavirus" which is absurd! So i think that we should address this problem in order to prevent these things from happening again.

  13. Hello,

Although we don't have a lot of information about this virus currently, I am not too scared about it yet. Indeed, it seems that even if this virus can infect anyone, it only has a real effect on old people or people who suffer from a bad health. Of course, I am concerned that it may infect my grandparents, for instance, but I am not afraid about catching it myself, as I am young and would probably survive. So I'm not scared to die because of this virus, but it is needless to say that I will do anything I can in order not to catch it, because even if it is not necessarily very dangerous, having this disease must be very painful, and on top of that if one catches the virus, one can transmit to other people without even being aware of it, and I don't want to endanger my relatives and schoolmates. I strongly believe everyone has a responsability to try not to catch this virus, in order to protect the elderly and the most vulnerable people in our society. But I also think that some people exaggerate and have disproportionate reactions about this virus. As far as I am cocerned, I want to keep on to live as I usually do, except I wash my hands more often and try to avoid crowds and public transportation.
