Death penalty

What do you think about the death penalty ?

  1. I’m totally against death penalty for multiple reasons.

Firstly, there are a lot of innocent people judged wrongly. Just in France, eight people were judged innocent after being proved guilty and they’re just the lucky ones, some never went out of prison because of a crime they didn’t do. It’s why I don’t think death penalty is a good thing because too much innocent are sentenced to prison and could be sentenced to the death penalty if it existed in France.

Secondly, it’s too much of a burden for the judge. He actually kills someone with just his voice. And I know that in South Korea where death penalty exist, a lot of judges stop their job after sentencing someone to it.

Thirdly, I don’t think justice has to lower himself and do the same as the criminals : to kill.

And to finish, death is too simple for someone who killed or raped many people. He has to stay in prison and remember again and again what he did. It’s way crueler for someone like that to be forced to stay forty years in prison than just to die like that.

  2. I think that death penalty, is illogical because we can’t judge if someone deserve to live or die. It’s against ethics and human rights ! Indeed, killing people is against the law and it will be stupid to do something that we punish. I also think that, death penalty is too easy because these criminals won’t suffer anymore, they will die without any pain. If they have done something horrible they deserve to think about it over and over. To conclude I don’t agree with it because justice can be wrong and kill innocent people sadly and destroy their lives and their family’s one. Tatiana Labady

  3. I think the death penalty is the ultimate and irrevocable punishment: the risk of executing an innocent person will always exist. Moreover, it is quite horrible to ask a human to execute another human However, some crimes are simply unforgivable. Some humans should not be considered as such and do not deserve to be treated as humans.

  4. I'm personally against and I believe that the death penalty is a highly debated topic. Some argue that it serves as a deterrent and brings justice for the most heinous crimes, while others argue that it goes against human rights and carries the risk of wrongful convictions. It's a complex and sensitive issue, and it's important to consider different perspectives and weigh the arguments on both sides.

  5. The death penalty is a serious topic. Some people believe it's right for terrible crimes like murder or terrorism because it feels like justice. They think it can dissuade others from doing bad things.

But there are problems with it. Mistakes can happen in courts, and innocent people might get punished. That's really bad because there's no going back once someone is executed. Also, some say it doesn't really stop crime. People might still do bad things even if they know about the death penalty.

It's hard because if horrible crimes need punishment, the death penalty might not be the best way. Maybe other ways like life in prison without parole could work better. This way, justice is served, but if there's a mistake, it's easier to fix than taking someone's life. Finally I think we can use the death penalty only if we are 100% sure that the accused person has committed a very serious crime and that this has happened multiple times

  6. The death penalty is a hard topic to talk about.Personally,I am totally against it because for me, on a religiously point of view, nobody should decide when somebody's life is gone to end.I prefer a life sentence to a death penalty because a death penalty it's not long compared to a life sentence when on the contrary you have to spend the rest of your life between four walls and think about what you did.And to finish,we all know that the legal system makes mistakes and these mistakes can lead an innocent person to death.

  7. Death penalty is really a personnal topic.
In my opinion death penalty shouldn’t be re established.
First of all, for me no one can judge if someone deserve to die or not. I mean who we are to condemn someone. We are not god to decide if someone is allowed to live or not
Moreover, they could be mistake. For example a person could be condemn to death penalty for a crime he didn’t commit and he will die for no reason
And finally, I think for serial killer, rapist… death is to easy. Because many crazy people are not afraid of death so it’s not a punishment for them it could be a delivery.
