Of course ! It's a great cheap way to make friends and have a roof over your head, while discovering a new country ! I'm sure it's fun and you'll bring back a lot of memories ! The only disadvantage I see is to stay with complete strangers, but it's always good to meet some new folks !

On the one hand, that can be funny to discover a new country et other cultures around the world. Furthermore, you can get on well with the host, that allow you to make friend everywhere in the world and host can show you around his area .In a financial point of view, this mean to travel is really great because it's not very expensive and you can book at the last minute.
On the other hand, when you see the description of the host on the websit, it can be very different from the reality, so you can be saddle with strange people. Moreover people haven't the same value so that can be very difficult to cohabit.
To conclude, surfing other people's couches is a good idea, including in a financial point of view, but that can become hard if you meet strange people. To my mind that is a good mean to meet people and travel around the world but you must take care to the host.

People from all over the world offers you couches, bathroom, kitchen, meals, guest tips about locals attraction and sometimes they let you use their cars ! Since the creation of the website Couchsurfing.com had registered more than 2 millions of members.
On the one hand, I would like to try couchsurfing because it's a cheap way to travel all around the map. The accommodation is free and you can keep your money to spend it somewhere else. You can discover different cultures, ways of living, people. You can be connected with people all over the world, it's a better way to get involved in a society. Moreover, you don't just learn about the others but about yourself.
On the other hand, it could be rather weird to go to the adventure : you know your host just behind a computer screen, you may not get along with your host...
To sum up, I will say that I would like to surf somebody's couch because it is a new way to discover a country, probably better than staying in a hotel.

Then I would be ready to sleep to people's couches , because you can meet new people and get interested in them cultures. For example your host can cook a local meal and it is very exciting. Finally , I can say that I would love to be a guest for one night because your host can show them around , and this services are not offered in an hotel. But on the other and , it is very scary to sleep on someone's couch which is unknown. This is a risk to take to sleep in strangers house , and it is understandable that some people don't want to try couch surfing. To conclude , I can say that I would be ready to surf other's people couch , for one reason : I'm interested in cultures which are not mines , and couch surfing is the perfect way to knew new ones.
