Imagination

To what extent does imagination affect our everyday life ?

  1. Hello,
To my mind, imagination does not affect our everyday life much. Indeed, in our everyday life, we are busy with our work or our studies. Only children and artists still use their imagination: some children create stories and artists like painters are creative.

  2. I personaly think that it depends on who you are, firstly because everybody doesn't have the same amount of imagination. Moreover, as everyone has different jobs and does different things every day, we don't all use our imagination as much: an office worker for example will not use it as an engineer would. But if we consider that everyone lets their imagination run free once or twice a day, and that it is this moment that brings joy to our daily lives, we can say that imagination is something very important for each and everyone of us in our daily life.

  3. On one hand imagination is a part of our difference, imagination aloud us to innovate and create like when we are child we play thank to our imagination. On the other hand, when we grow up we lose that imagination and we become more focus on basic stuff like studies and at this point just some people still use their imagination for their job.

  4. Hello,
to my mind imagination could be a way to escape our daily problem. Especially in this period where we are under stress because we have a lot of work and cant hang out with our friends.

  5. Hello ,
I think that imagination affects our daily life in the way we act as we say our imagination can play tricks on us... I think that imagining a scenario can make us change our mind about our basic idea
For example in the choice of clothing, I may be able to change my outfit according to my imagination about the weather.

  6. Hello,
First of all, This subject inspire me a lot. And this is true, I have the impression that imagination is wonderful and so deeply. That's my opinion. Personally my brain working so fast. For example if I have an idea, I write it down instantly and one idea gaves me an another one, again and again until I shut my eyes, and say to me: "Liouba, You have to stop". Sometimes I find that too complicated to handle. I love writing my thoughts and feelings about anything and the imagination which walk in my brain for free, makes me going crazy. I have an another example to tell you. In the morning, when I wake up, I take a paper and write my dreams. Later, I transform this dream (of course, it can be a nightmare too) and try to mix and create a story with my current imagination. And right now, I'm writing and I want to tell so much things. Imagination, thoughts, feeling and even ideas come like flaming arrows. My mind burns out little by little.
    Thank you always!

  7. Hello,

When I read this question, the first thought that came to my mind was the expression of our imagination in reading. Effectively, when we read a book, a text (for instance an history, an essay...), there are many images that come to mind. Our brain associates some ideas, some words to create an image that is related to the text we are reading.
It's very interesting to think about our brain mechanisms, our brain functioning... which allows us to have an imagination.

Also, I think that it's important to take time to read, because it cultivates our imagination, all the more so since we can lose some of it as we get older : that's why children are often an overflowing imagination, whereas adults may lack imagination, because they don't take many time to think, to escape.

  8. Hello,
In my opinion, imagination can be harmful when our imagination doesn’t match with reality. Here, we can be dissapointed. Moreover, imagination leads our actions in everyday life, then it can influence our entire life. Personally I love using my imagination but I’d rather using my reason which allow me to make realistic choices.

  9. Imagination is all about thinking and considering what you can do, and could do at a present time, given your opportunities and possibilities. It is part of our intelligence and is vital to us.
Imagination is a way for us to escape from the real world for a brief moment. You can imagine yourself as anything, doing anything that you like. Imagination is also a way to be creative and can be used as a tool. You can also think, with your imagination, of new ideas, new creations that may or may not be applied or built and that could potentially affect your life in a positive way. Imagination is the source of all new ideas and of ideas that have been made real so far. It is what fuels our creativity and could very well be on what our society has been built upon.

  10. Firstly , imagination affect our everyday life in a certain way . Indeed, imagination can influence everything we do, think about and create. Also, through imagination , we can improve the condition in which we live , only by imagining good things and then realizing them, we can bring some hapiness in our lives . If I think deeply, I realise how much imagination can affect our daily life because it's a creative power and if you want to do anything , as writing a book or designing a dress , you need imagination .Indeed, in the case of material things , essence comes before existence, so in order to design a dress you have to imagine it in your head before creating it and therefore, this creative power is necessary. Furthermore , this notion directly lead me to children, because children have a lot of imagination, and they use it constantly : when they play , they create games thanks to imagination and when you read to them a story , they directly imagine it in their head . On the opposite, adults don't use imagination as much as children do because in the adult life , we are absorbed by daily worries.(there are exceptions of course in the case of professions which need constantly imagination ). To conclude, imagination really affect our life and it can be in a positive way because it allows us to remind our best memories ,to dream about the future and to represent a different and sometimes a better reality.

  11. Personally, I think imagination can highly influence our daily lives no matter who we are. Although some people appeal it more often than others like artists that are required to give free rein to their imagination in the making of a new artwork, I think anyone uses their imagination more regularly than they might think. For example, it is used while resolving problems, exploring the past or imagining the future or even when viewing a situation from different angles. On top of that, imagination can have really positive benefits such as reducing stress and improving mental and physical well-being by allowing us to forget our daily worries in some way. So imagination affects everyone and in many ways however it is important to keep in mind that we must think positively even when imagining things as it would allow to access to the positive aspects of it only.

  12. To my mind, I think that imagination can affect our daily lives because it rhythms our dreams as well as our desires, which can disrupt the concrete actions developed during our life.
I think that imagination is both an advantage, because it allows us to dream and believe in ourselves throughout our lives, however it can be a disadvantage because it punctuates our daily lives on uncertain facts that can disrupt our success in school or in higher education for example.
I think it's important to have imagination but it shouldn't be too important in our lives.

  13. I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to escape into the imaginary and preferring that world to the present one. Imagining a world without sexism, homophobia, racism, grossophobia and so on can help some people to cope with the current world in order to keep hope. Imagination also helps in many other ways, such as waiting to see someone by imagining a reunion, creating a dream house in your head or imagining an incredible design for a project. We are pushed to stop imagining, associating it with childhood and forcing our heads into "reality", forcing us to think rationally, when imagining has never killed anyone.

  15. In my opinion, it affects our daily life in everything we do, whether it is a job we want to do later on and therefore it motivates us to seek information on the job in question, a project we want to implement that will require time, the use of our brain.
It can even give us pleasure (being careful to remain rational and always have backup plans)

  16. We may feel as if imagination is no longer part of our daily life because of the contrast we make between our childhood and our adulthood, but in reality, it is always present. Without imagination we wouldn't be humans. By definition, imagination is the faculty of forming new ideas or concepts of external objects not present to the senses.
We do not need to be artsy or to be a kid to have a great imagination. Our imagination is our essence, it is what makes us unique, what helps us excel at our jobs, what helps us make the most out of our lives.
Without imagination we would have depression. Without it, we wouldnt be able to escape our world for somewhere more peaceful.
So in some way, imagination affects our life in a way that it can help us overcome life’s challenges as well as it can destroy us through delusion.
