Covid in nice

In Nice, the covid incidence rate is the highest in France.
Are you worried?
And what do you think of the prefect's decision to confine us for the weekend?

  1. I saw few days ago on TV news that Nice had the highest covid incidence rate in France . Sincerely, all these news and the current atmosphere worry me a little bit because I have the impression that the situation is never going to get better and that on the contrary it's getting worse and worse. I think that the decision took by the prefect to confine us for the weekend is quite useless because the other days of the week everything is open and everyone's out .On the one side , they decided to confine us for the weekend because during the week everyone is working and it's on saturday and sunday that most people goes out hanging out with friends or whatever. But I actually don't agry because we work/study during the whole week and when we want to "breathe" a little we can't because of the lockdown and the curfew. Furthermore, for university students it's worse because they study at home the whole week and even the weekend they are forced to stay at home because of the restrictions. On the other side I really don't think that two days per week of lockdown will serve to decrease this highest covid incidence rate in France.(maybe it will, this is just my opinion). To conclude, I really hope that these restrictions will serve in order to get the situation better.

  2. Even if Nice is the city with the highest incidence rate of covid19 in France, I'm not especially afraid because I respect barrier gestures and my relatives as well, but we must remain very vigilant with the new variants of the virus which are more dangerous. I think the prefect's decision is a bit sad because these are the only two days when people who work during the week can go out and rest, but they will have to stay at home from now on because the Prefect took this decision to protect us.

  3. Hello,
Personally, even if I was contaminated a short time ago, I am a bit afraid because I have heard that even my body has developed an immunity against the virus, I could still get the virus and infect people around me. We heard everything and its opposite (on radio, on Internet, on TV...) about the pandemic and it's very annoying.

About the prefect's decision to confine us for the weekend, I think it's inevitably a good idea to decrease the incidence rate in Nice. But obviously, if this measure is only taken in one or two cities of France like Nice, the situation may get worse in other countries, because no supplementary measures were taken there.
I think all of France should be confined the weekend, because all countries are concerned by the pandemic : there is infected people by the virus, and by a variant of the virus in every countries. Also, cases can only increase from day to day if no supplementary measures are taken.

  4. Hello,
Personally, I'm not really scared because I respect barrier gestures to protect myself and my family. Moreover, with the variants I'm even more careful.
In relation to the actions to reduce the incidence rate in Nice, the prefect has taken the decision to lock us up for the weekend. And I hope that this decision will serve to improve the situation in Nice, but personally I don't know if two days of confinement per week can drastically reduce the incidence rate of the highest disease in France.
Moreover, I find it a bit sad because these are days when people who work during the week can go out and have fun during this difficult situation, but as a result of this decision they will now have to stay at home.
To conclude, I really hope that these restrictions will still have a beneficial impact on the incidence rate in Nice.

  5. I think that the prefect's decision to confine us for the weekend might have been a good idea but the way it was made made it, in my opinion, useless, as derogation to go out are too easily obtained, and you are allowed to go for a walk up to 5 km away from your house, on top of all the other reasons you can put on your certificate which there already were during the two other lockdowns. Besides, this lockdown would be slightly more useful if there were more police patrols and if fines were actually given. Finally, I am quite worried about the alarmants contamination rates, but not much more than before, because no matter how high the rate is, I keep my mask all the time, I respect the sanitary resolutions and never eat with people who don't live with me.

  6. Hello! First of all I'm not worried about it because I already had the covid-19. I know that we can have the virus twice but I feel more comfortable. I mean it reduces the possibility of having it an another time because you we supposed to have antibodies then. Secondly, I think that confining us the weekend is a good thing to do, we should be confining all the week, it could be more efficient. And I'm not surprised at all that Nice is the city which the covid incidence rate the highest in France. Too much people don't know yet how to put correctly the mask or don't know the things to do such as don't touch our face with our dirty hands. For instance, teenagers even see friends without masks all of the day and came back the evening at home. This is irresponsable because they can contaminate their parents. Too much people still don't respect the rules even if thousands of person died and still die. We must teach ourself and respect the others. Because if we don't, the pandemic still will remains with us.
    Thank you!

  7. Hello,
I am not especially worried about the covid incidence rate of Nice. Indeed, I wear a mask and wash my hands often. So I don't risk catching the virus or passing it on to my friends and family.
Speaking for myself, the prefect's decision is useless. Indeed, the population can move around during the week. A lockdown at weekends does not prevent the covid virus from circulating.

    1. I made some mistakes:
      - rate in Nice
      - Prefect's decision

  8. To begin with, I am indeed concerned about the situation we are in today, it is now a year since COVID 19 hit France, and that the rapid contamination and the development of new variants ceases to aggravate the situation.
In my opinion, I think, in fact, that the prefect made a good decision by creating a new lock-down on weekends. However, I'm not sure that is enough to stop the development of the Virus. Although a new lock-down is not very beneficial for everyone, but I think we must first protect our health in order to try to make this virus disappear.

  9. Hello,
The situation in Nice is very worrying so I think it was a good decision to take measures quickly. However, it’s very difficult for people who work because there is also a curfew at 6p.m in the evening so they can’t have a break and go out after work: this is very tiring. Moreover, I’m not sure that a lockdown only the weekend is very efficient, indeed the number of coronavirus cases continues to increase in the city because the virus spreads all days. Consequently, I believe that a short and strict lockdown would be a better decision, actually if we take measures to contain the pandemic, we have chances to be more free next months and reopen cultural spaces because it’s important for our mental health. We also have to be responsible: wear a mask and be careful if we want to improve the sanitary situation.

  10. I'm not especially worried about the Covid incidence rate of Nice. The variants will soon spread throughout the country and we'll still have 2 years to go. I noticed that few police officers were present to enforce the lockdown so I think that this measure is useless and that a total confinement on the whole country would be more effective. Few people want to be vaccinated and this is not surprising when you consider that this vaccine was made so quickly. Even if it seems to be effective on some, it is powerless against new variants and its effects may not last over time.

  11. Personally, I am not that worried about the COVID in Nice since it won't affect my family much. However, I am concerned about others and especially people who are vulnerable to it. Deciding to confine us for the weekend is, first of all, a step in the right direction. Nonetheless, it is still not enough to keep COVID at bay. I believe it is necessary to confine everybody for an extended period, and not only during the weekends. Since people will still go out and potentially spread COVID during the weekdays, being put into lockdown during the weekend is close to useless and won't do much good. It can even backfire and raise people's discontentment even higher.

  12. I'm not particularly worried about myself because I respect the barrier measures and even if I do contract it, I wouldn't risk much. I am more worried about my grandparents who are at risk. As for weekend lockdown, I think it's a good idea and will help limit travel. But unfortunately it's not enough because there will always be people who don't respect it. For me a total lockdown for our department is the best solution to reduce the spread of the virus.

  13. I find that nice is the city with the highest incidence rate is not a surprise.
I think that a lot of people are irresponsible in the face of the pandemic and in particular on the negligence on the wearing of the mask. To give you an example, I went to see the sunset one evening on the Promenade des Anglais, I walked two kilometers while observing the other tourists, more than half of the people I passed did not wear masks. I think that confinement on weekends is not a bad idea to slow down the virus and avoid groups of people in the main places.

  15. In my opinion, the situation in Nice is worrying because the fact that the covid incidence rate is the highest in France means either that the people who live in Nice don't respect the decisions of the government or that these decisions are not effective.
Also, the prefect's decision to confine us for the weekend is useless because there is more travel during the week than the weekend especially because of work and school. Therefore, during the week there is more contact with others than the weekend.
