Poland announced the construction of a wall in December on its border with Belarus to prevent migrants from entering the country. What do you think about it ?
It's not the first time that this type of construction is envisaged. I think that this situation might puts migrants at risk and I don't think the migration crisis will end by this way.
This is not the first time that Belarus has launched provocations against the EU. This time, the president of Belarus, caused a serious migratory crisis at the borders between Belarus and Poland with barbaric use of migrants. Poland, like other European countries (Lithuania, Estonia) does not wish to receive migrants. So Poland tries to build a wall between these borders with Belarus, just like D. Trump tried to build the wall between the US and Mexico. In my opinion, Poland is absolutely right, because it is not responsible for this migration crisis caused by a provocative country. This country is trying to do its best to deal with this migration crisis, having a political crisis already well established.
Migratory pressure continues to grow on the border between Poland and Belarus. The tensions too. Warsaw refuses the entry of potential refugees into its territory and systematically rejects them. As Polish migration policy hardens for populist ends, European Union fails to position itself, and I guess that this dramatic situation illustrates the way in which the European Union views the migration issue.
Maybe just for prevent, this wall can be a good idea but this wall don’t avoid the arrival of migrants who are ready to do all possible to go to Europe.
Nowadays border walls do not always prevent people from crossing a country, as a result it increases illegal immigration and human trafficking. One of the most known examples in history is the Trump’s wall between America and Mexico. In my opinion at some point it might be the only choice for Poland to stop all the illegal and dangerous migrants.
First, this is not the first time we see this situation. In addition to that, i think this act isn’t a good idea because a lot of migrants will arrive to come in Poland because if this is the price of their lives, they will do this. The wall can stop a lot of people but i think it can’t stop all people that they want. Migrants will take a lot of risks but sometime, this is the only solution to have a better life. In my opinion, I think that the construction of this border will not resolve the migratory crisis between the two countries. In addition to being inefficient, this border could be dangerous for migrants
I don’t think the construction of a wall is the best idea, it’s not the first Time this type of construction is created. The question of migration is more complicated to manage. We saw in the past like with the wall between Mexico and United states that migrants keep coming and found another way to cross borders. Moreover the construction of a wall will increase the risk of danger for migrants
One month ago, Poland's Senate approved the construction of a 350 million euros wall along its border with Belarus to prevent migrants from entering illegally in its territory.
On the one hand, if it is efficient and so enables to enforce the enacted laws, to my mind, it is a good idea. If it allows controlling the immigration, it is a good thing as uncontrolled immigration is harmful to both the country which takes charge of the migrants and the migrants themselves.
On the other hand, if it is not efficient, it is just a waste of money and time. It may just raise discontentment. Therefore, it would be a wrong decision.
To conclude, we must consider what will happen before drawing any conclusions.

I think that it might discourage some migrants from entering the country because they will be putting their lives into danger, but it’s not going to decrease the rate of migration into the country.
I believe that it is extremely selfish to take this kind of step against migrants because countries need to understand the suffering and the situation of these people. Instead of stopping them to have a better life, Poland should've helped these helpless people and should've showed some humanity.
Hi, First of all, by building this wall, they hope to stop the migratory flows between European countries. This is not the first time in history that walls have been built to solve a problem. However, in my opinion, I don't think that building a wall really solves the problem, it just divides the population when they should think about the problem together. Moreover, the number of migrants continues to skyrocket every year even with strict measures at the borders. Migrants will find a way to flee their country if it is the only way to save their life. To conclude, I think countries should use their money to help them instead of hiding the problem.
Hello, First, I think that it is important to know how this story began in order to be able to give an objective opinion on this subject. So, 5 months ago, European Union decided to impose restrictive measures on several Belarusian because of violations of human rights and the violent repression on civil society. Since August, the Belarusian president, Alexandre Loukachenko, has been suspected of transporting migrants to the Polish borders in revenge for the Brussels sanctions imposed on his regime. That is why Poland wants to build a wall on its borders with Belarus. On the one hand, I think that this decision is justified and that it is more against Belarus than against the migrants themselves. On the other hand, the polish Prime minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, said that the main purpose of building this wall was to protect the Poles from the migrants. As the articles say, most of these migrants come from the middle east which means that they probably flee lands in conflict. Their aim is therefore to be safe and not to threaten the inhabitants' safety. Moreover, I don't think that a wall is enough to stop them; they will surely find another way (that will be more dangerous for their life) to cross the borders. Finally, I think that migrants should not be actors in this conflict which doesn't concern them.
To my opinion, the construction of a wall serves no purpose. In the past, walls construction refers to painful memories like the wall of Berlin or more recently the Trump’s wall between the United States and Mexico. The walls have only divided and separated the population. Moreover, this decision is very sad and terrible for migrants who are fleeing their homeland because of the war. To conclude, I think building a wall can’t solve a problem of this magnitude. It is necessary that real political measures be taken.
Concerning the situation of the border between Poland and Belarus, I would say that the migrant crisis is embedded in complex political issues. Although it is difficult to find the right solutions, the construction of a wall is not a valid answer to this human tragedy. Indeed the building of walls to protect borders can be associated historically with terrible suffering of populations, for example the famous Berlin Wall, the wall between the USA and Mexico built by President Trump or the Gaza Strip barrier. On one hand Poland has taken an easy and radical option which can be criticized, on the other hand president Loukachenko is instrumentalizing the migrant crisis to put pressure on the EU. Finally I consider that the only way out of this dramatic situation is through political action, diplomacy and humanitarian aid.
Hi. I think that is a bad idea. Building a wall to separate Poland and Belarus will only bring an even worse relationship between those two countries. On one hand, I understand that Poland wants to prevent migrants from coming into its lands, and it's the easier way to do it. But on the other hand, I strongly think it will damage their reputation people will compare it with Trump's wall.
I think this is a very radical method. This method is often used, so it is surely useful. But I can't stop imagining that behind this wall, there are children, families and human beings, who had to leave their country to survive, so it makes me really sad.
Hi ! I think that the arrival of migrants in Europe is not new. Migrants often move because of wars in their countries or crises, I think creating a wall between the two countries is not a good idea. I think there is another idea to do.
The migrants situation is a true problem since a long time in Europe. Since the war in Syria and in Irak a lot of population decided to left their home to go in Europe. Turkey tried to hold migrants and it was a source of conflict between Turkey and Europe. But all of the world have to ask themselves about a question: should we let these people without any help? Because they are not responsible about what happened in their country. So this is why county like Poland decide to build a wall
Building a wall to stop people at the Poland-Belarus border may help protect the country, but it might create problems too. Walls can stop people from coming in, but they might also make it hard for those who need help. Finding ways to keep everyone safe without using walls could be better. It's important to be safe, but we should also be kind to people who need help. There might be other ways to solve this without building a wall. Balancing safety and helping people is important.
It's not the first time that this type of construction is envisaged. I think that this situation might puts migrants at risk and I don't think the migration crisis will end by this way.
