What do you think?

Should country/countries pay for the pain they caused during slavery, war or colonisation?

  1. To begin with, many countries have built their fortunes on the backs of other countries during war, slavery or colonisation and have also caused a lot of damage. That's why some people are asking them to pay for their dees.

Indeed, Germany declared for the first time, a few days ago, that it committed "genocide" against people of Nalmibia, in Africa, during the colonial era. This one would pay the country more than one billion euros.

On the one hand, when states practiced slavery or have colonized other territories without justified reasons, they should pay for they dees and the pain they did. It's therefore understandable that some countries demand reperations.
But on the other hand, when territories and reparations were made during the war, I think that nobody should pay back because almost all countries were at war. So if we had to pay all countries that claim war damage, we would not get out of it.

To conclude, countries should pay for their dees when they can't be justified but also for the pain they caused during slavery and war.

    1. Sorry I made some mistakes: -deeds/for their deeds
      -the pain they caused
      -reperation

  2. It's a complex and delicate issue. Many believe that countries should acknowledge and take responsibility for the pain and suffering caused during these periods.
They could offer a part of their lands in compensation. Reparations, whether financial compensation, educational programs, could help to calm the tensions and ask for forgiveness. It's a topic that involves ethical, legal, and moral considerations, and different perspectives exist on how best to address these historical injustices.

  3. No, countries shouldn't have to pay for the hurt from slavery, wars, or taking over other lands. Asking for money might make people angrier and keep the pain going. It could make fights between countries worse and even create new problems. It will just cause more pain and hate between countries. Instead, we should talk about what happened in the past and try to understand each other better. This can help us heal and make things better for the future. We need to learn from what happened before and work together to make the world a nicer place, without forgetting what happend in the old days.
