  5. 1) criticm is the act of expressing a more or less thorough analysis of something (it could be almost anything I guess) in order to make a point about its value

    I guess ?

    2)
    a) a thing of high importance :

    “charmander uses scratch
    critical hit !
    foe Bidoof has fainted”

Aaand now you can’t capture him. Not that you’d want a bidoof anyway. What was the topic again ?

    b) some weird artificially-bred cannabis sub-specie.
I’m not kidding. This is the top result when you type “critical” in the google search bar (with french settings anyway). The Internet is awesome. (Is this even legal ?)

    Don’t do drugs, kids.

    c) the adjective refering to something/someone expressing criticism. Also critically more boring than the two earlier meanings imo.

    3)
a caricature is a representation of an individual or of a group of individuals or a system, which exagerates one or several of his/its characteristics to the pont of absurdity, in order to highlight the fact that these characteristics are already present and important in this person/these persons/this system, while being funny.

    4) irony is the fact of saying exaaactly what you want to express. Nothing implicit AT ALL.
You can sooo rarely use it, and people who will only see first degree in what you say are the BEST people to use irony around.

    5) No, I know no other word that would be of the same “family” (except of course the corresponding adjectiv (ironic), adverb (ironically), etc…)

    6) A litotes is an understatement using a negative form to implicitely exageratewhat you want to say.
Thus, we can say is it also not the most simple of rhetorical figures.

    7) Yes, the word “critique” does exist in English, and refers to either final state of criticism (the review in its fixed, definitive form), or the act of creating such a thing.
I am a bit confused as to what the difference with criticism is, but I guess it is very close anyway.
