Nowadays, we suspect that the phenomenon of surrogate mothers will spread. Indeed, this practice is already used in other countries like the United States for example.

A surrogate mother is a woman wHo has deicded to take the child to a couple of "intented parents" who proviced the embryos. Her job is to support the development of an embryo and the birth to give it to intented parents.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I don't agree with this phenomenon because these women are paid to carry children and give birth to the intented parents. So I don't agree with the fact that you can get paid for it. I understand it must be hard for couples unable to have children, but I think it would be better to adopt a child who is in an orphanage than to have a child via a surrogate mother. Knowing that throughout the pregnancy, the child is constantly in contact with the surrogate mother, so I find it's horrible that at birth the child is then given to the parents.
I hope this phenomenon will never come to France, even though we know that some children have Franch nationality born via surrogacy.
This phenomenon is a really controversial subject. However, I think this phenomenon is not a real solution for parents who can't have children. In the same way, in France we have alternative to "surrogate mother"; like adoption or in vitro fertilization to help these parents. To sum up I believe that this phenomenon never will arrived in France because it's not in our culture because we fight against the baby's purchase.

First of all I think that this phenomena is ideally for lots of parents who cannot give birth. I totally agree with this idea because many parents don't like adopting child and prefer a surrogate mother. To my mind ; It's a good compromise because the surrogate mother earn money ( it's her goal ) and parents are sure to have a baby. Moreover I heard on the TV that 60% of French people think that it must be accept in the law, that's why I believe that this practises will arrived also in France.
Finally, give birth is the best things who can happened in the life of a mother and I'm sad for all the women who are sterile.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, a surrogate mother agrees, often for pay, to give birth to a baby, in oder to help a couple to have a child.
To my mind, this phenomenon is not a good solution for the parents who can't have children because the sorrogate mother is paid and give birth is not a business.
However, like Clara, I'm sad for the couples who can't have children, but I think it exists lots of other way for these parents to have a baby : for exemple adoption (which is for me a good idea because it also gives a family to the orphan).
To sum up, I think this subject divides a lot the opinion so we shouldn't extend this practice in France.

First of all, allowing surrogate mothers is very difficult to debate.
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, it allows sterile couple to conceive a child, and according to surveys, french people are not against it... Moreover, some couple do it illegaly anyway in other countries which isn't regulated therefore it might lead to complications.
But on the other hand, I also agree with Eve: orphanages are full of children who wish they had a chance to live in a loving family. I think that raising a child is very important and the family that matters the most is not always someone's biological parents.
To put it all in a nutshell, I think we should have a referendum about this subject and let people choose. I believe in Democratia and I personnaly can't pick a side about this practice.

ReplyDeleteI recently saw a report, where some surrogate mothers were paid a significant amount of money to carry a child of two parents, who where unable to procreate. Personally, I don’t like the idea that some women only do this to earn money and don’t care about the unborn children they carry.
At the same time, I think it’s a good alternative for people, who can’t have children due to infertility.
However, I can understand that when your baby is born you may not look at your child, as if you would have been yourself pregnant of him/her. It must be difficult to know that another woman is pregnant of your child. The bonds of love with your child may not be as strong at the beginning, and will only build up over time.
I am not against the idea to extend this practice in France, if everything is well controlled and regulated.

To my mind, surrogate mothers aren't a bad idea when we see how many couples wish to have children when they can't, mainly because of infertility. I think it's great to have an option for people who truely want to have kids. Paying a woman to have a child for you might be difficult at the beggining but I don't think it is wrong anyway. It seems a bit weird to me that some people use their body to earn money, especially when it is about carrying a human life, which is a big deal in someone's living.
ReplyDeleteI also think that a woman should be free to use her body as she wishes, and particularly when it's to help somebody else, here, who can't fall pregnant for instance. I wouldn't be against bringing this birth method to France because it would give another right to woman : to dispose as she wants of her own body. Of course it has to be safe for the woman and the child, and it should be really well controlled, indeed.

I have several opinions on surrogate mothers. On the one hand it can be a good way for the people sterile to have a children so that can make people happy. Moreover Surrogate mother are a good idea. However on the other hand adoption is also a good alternative for the parents who cannot have children because adoption make happy a child since they can have a better life thanks their new family !

To conclude ,I am not against surrogate mothers still there is others alternative to have a baby juste like adoption. Also I am not against to extend this practice in France.
I do not agree with this practice, I think it's a bit like the child who is manipulating adopt and abandon birth. For surrogate mothers it must be very hard mentally and some parents may resort to other methods that are better in my opinion. But last recourd and if the child receives a lot of love it can also be a good thing for the child and for parents desiring a child, even if they have paid the mother
