In class we are working on a story in which the narrator likes his life in his new country.
What about you ? Would you enjoy living in another country ? If yes, which one ?

  1. Yes I want so to go in another country to live and to explore. This is a quite interesting thing, I think it learn us to other ways of life... I stay seven weeks in Germany for learning german and it was a little bit strange, because they haven't the same lifestyle, but I enjoy also this experience for many reasons... So yes, I want to travel and to live in another country...:)

  2. Hello guys!
First of all, I'd like to live in the United States, especially in New York. Indeed, I really appreciate american culture which is very rich and diverse. I think it would take a lifetime to discover all things that could exist in only this city and that's why I dream of hanging out and enjoy all the beautiful stuff that the city offers.

Morover, I'm looking for English-speaking countries to improve my English, it would be a very good opportunity to communicate with others in English because it helps me to understand better step by step, if I get used to this idiom everyday.

However, I'm a little bit anguish of settling down in another country because I'd feel like a stranger and I will surely find it difficult to integrate into a new society, with different ways of life and new people...

In conclusion, why not living in another country even if France is fine with me too!

    1. Hello, I've made some mistakes: I mean "to discover everything that there is in this" and not "to discover all things that could exist in only this city", "enjoying" and not "enjoy", and "I really appreciate American culture" and not "I really appreciate american culture"

  3. Hi everyone,

I think I would enjoy living in another country for a few years because it would give me opportunities and I could meet new people but I feel like I would get homesick after a while because I’m too attached to Nice since I was born, raised and lived all my life here. If I had to move somewhere, it would be an english speaking country because it could improve my english, which I think is really important since english is a language that is used globally. Even though the USA are one of the most important english speaking countries, I wouldn’t enjoy living there and I would rather move to somewhere such as Australia or the UK.

  4. Hello everyone,

I have lived in France for the passed 14 years of my life, and I do really like this country but I don't see myself living here all my life.
I would like to live in an English speaking country such as England itself or maybe Australia, since my grandparents are Australian, I feel drawn to the country. I also just like to travel in general and discover new places, I think that it would be boring to stay in the same town forever. But France in itself is a beautiful place and has many qualities such as beautiful weather, the sea and therefor the beach, but I could easily live without those things. What I really want is to live in a big town with several cultures and different languages, like London.

    Thank you for reading!

  5. Hello everybody !
As the narrator I would love to live in another country, even though life in the south of France is great.
However, if I had to choose to live in another country (I would choose the United States. Life is so different here. Moving to Los Angeles would be magical and a dream for me. When I say that life is different I speak for example of the lifestyle that is completely different, people are different, more kind to others, more playful too. Everything is more convenient and accessible, take for example buses from everywhere, subway stations at every corner but there are also shops throughout the city. Because the country is so big and the cities huge.
In addition, we can also talk about American culture, the way of life, get up earlier, spend the biggest days. And we can also add that the myth of the American cinema will live in real while taking other proportion …

So to finish, I would very much like to realize one day this dream of being able to live in the United States with my family.

  6. Hello,
Yes I would like to live elsewhere, for me in Australia, on the one hand to be able to improve my English, as well as to discover other facades of the world, new people, new cultures, new places, enrich my knowledge. It would be an incredible and rewarding experience, this makes it possible to break the routine , we see new things.

  7. As a result of globalization, more and more people are moving abroad.

it is true that moving to another country allows you to increase your cultural wealth, improve your language and even start a new life.
However, in most cases, you are far from your family, you find yourself without a sentimental reference point and you can also get homesick, by not integrating the different way of life.

For me, having already done three exchanges in Germany, I think it would be difficult to live abroad or during my studies, and in a country with a lifestyle fairly close to France

  8. Hi everyone !

First, the story we are working on is very interesting as it talks about a man who lives in another country and likes his new life there. I don't think everyone is so pleased when moving in a foreign country. Effectively, some people need to emigrate because of work or for political reasons, indeed they are not always welcomed as expected.

To continue, for my part, I would like to live in another country and especially England for it's a beautiful and active country. If I had to move there, I would stay in London : I've already visited this city twice, therefore I believe I would enjoy spending my life in the English capital. Moreover, I've always been passionated by English culture and I know the language, consequently it would be easy to talk and make new friends. In addition, I would like to mix with the locals and go out, to follow the English customs.
On the other hand, I would still be attached to my home country so I would keep some of my customs (for example the French diet or music).
Nevertheless, I am also attracted by other countries such as Canada or Argentina, because I know a few people who live there. It seems nice and cool, so why not ?

To conclude I wouldn't mind living in another country, but I hope I would be as happy as the man in the story, and I would feel welcomed.

To answer the question asked, yes ! I would really like to live in another country, it's my dream to be honest with you...
I would like very much living in the United States as a lot of people I think.. Because it's a very beautiful country with magnificent landscapes but also the culture of the cinema that is interesting, the various some areas etc... It's a very vast country where the life is completely different.
Bali, is also a paradisiac island according to me, in which I would like living very much, its many beaches in the fine sand.. Her culture and its cities seduce me.
I have many other destinations in mind but to conclude, yes I would like to live in another country for the rest of my life.

  10. Hi everyone, I hope you are well :

In my opinion, I would like live in another country and especially Morocco for everything. In this country everything is better. We can see beautiful landscape which change according to our position. Mountains, white sand beaches, plains, forests, waterfalls etc.

We can eat full of variety of food : Dishes typical as “Tajines”, “Couscous” etc. , French food as baguette the French bread, Chinese and Asian food as “sushi” , “nems” etc

We can make everything in Morocco. Go to the beach, ski, make some climbing, make of the quad, make some hike.

So for my part, if I should choose a destination to move shall be that Morocco.

  11. Hi everyone !

We are working with a text who deals with a man who decides to live in a another country where nobody knows him, and he knows nobody neither. The theme is a good introduction for a reflexion about a life abroad.

On one hand, living in another country would be great ! It helps learning to speak a foreign language . The opportunity to discover new lifestyles, new people, new things. All this new things could be great for our self-improvemed.

On the other hand, it can be difficult because to be far away from our family is not always easy, and we miss them, obsiously. To live in another country we need to be ambitious and independant. Living abroad is like starting a new life and this can make us afraid… My mum left her country to marry my father in France, and she says it what very difficult in the beginning : different language, no family, no job, and no friends to go and see.

As far as I’m concerned I would like to live in an other country but only a couple of months of a year. If I need to chose where I would live, I would choose Belgium, because it’s my second homeland, where my mother’s family lives and I would be closer of them, and feel safe . The United kingdom can be a great country to live but there life is very expensive.

To summarize, living in another country is like starting a new life and I thing I’m not yet prepared to leave my family. What about you

  14. Actually, many people (especially teenagers) go abroad for specific reasons.

First, people usually goes abroad for their studies and I really want to too. Sometimes, they choose the country where they'll go to because they have one of the parents who has got origins from. Or then, people choose this place because they just like the way that people there are living, the tradition, culture, or even the language!

Personally,I want to go in an asian country. I really like their way of living, their cultures, their tradition, their language (which I'm learning by myself too) because it make me feel like my orogins way of living, tradition and culture too.

  15. Hi everyone,

Since I was I little girl, I have lived in Nice and I really am thankful to be living there as it is one the prettiest and most attractive places. I have traveled quite a lot and love to discover new places but every time I come back to Nice I always feel extremely happy to be home.
I guess it’s because it’s where I was raised, where I met my friends, where I go to school…

Once I’ve finished in “Lycée” I am considering studying abroad in order to meet new people, learn new cultures and simply get a taste of what life if like in a different country. For me, learning the different ways of living in foreign countries and not just focusing on our own country is really important. That’s why I would like to study abroad.
However, when I am older I would like to come back to France and settle down there, preferably in the south of France. I love so many things about here. The food is great, the scenery is beautiful and I just love the atmosphere. I hope that's what will happen.

  16. Hello everybody!
Effectively we are reading a book where the character lives in an other country than his own.

On the one hand, I think that leaving France to live in an other country is something very brave. To my mind, it takes a lot of courage to decide to quit everything. Moreover leaving France means leaving our whole life, our friends and family.

However, on the other hand, I think living in an other country than France is a great opportunity. Indeed, we can have the chance to learn other culture, other language or even an other way of life.
It could be a very good experience, and I think is something that we keep in mind our whole life. Indeed, it is a way to learn a lot of new things and to know other people.

Personally, I think that I would not enjoy to live my whole life in a foreign country, but I would be glad if I could live during a few years in a other country than France. If is the case, I would like to go to London because I love this city, and its atmosphere. I would also enjoy to live in Spain because I love the Spanish language, and the way of life of this country.

In conclusion, leaving our country and our habits is something that seems to me very brave, but I’m sure is something we can't regret, and that it can bring us a lot.

Then, it is not "I would not enjoy to live" but "I would enjoy living"
Fianlly, I forgot the word "it" in the following sentence "If it the case"

  17. To my mind, I would like to live in another country and especially in Morocco. Why this choice? In my opinion, Morocco is more than a simple country, all my family lives over there. It is a country with wonderful landscapes, symbolic places as “Koutoubia”, a big mosque situated in Marrakech, the Waterfalls of “Ouzoud” etc. It’s a country where we can live with not much way. This country is a part of my origins, and it is a country, which I like so much. In particular the kindness, the generosity of people, their simplicities, their joys of life.

  18. Hi! Today I am going to talk about my plans for the future, but especially if I imagine myself living in another country.

First, I think France is a beautiful and a safe country. I love French food and culture, the various landscapes, the French language, and all my life is here. But I also want to discover the world, new things and new ways of life, how other people think, beautiful new languages. In my opinion, to go on a trip or to move in another country is necessary to build you a general view of the world, and to me there are so many parts of the planet we have to see!
But secondly, I don't think I'm able to go to living in another country. I already think moving to another part of France is difficult, so to another country is worse. For me, it's brave to move to an another part of the world, so far of your family. Family is very important for me. And even if I like English, Spanish and another languages I love to speak French, my native language. I don't have enough bravery and enough spirit of adventure to leave France. I want to stay near my family, so I can see them very often.

To conclude, even if I don't go to living in another country, I certainly will do as many travels as I can!

  19. Hi everyone here is my point of view !

I guess I would enjoy living in an another country as Australia or England in London more precisely, I've always dreamt of moving for these two countries as far as I can remember, even though they are very different. First of all, because I've only known one country since the beginning of time, so changing my environment could only be positive and would be like a second breath. Then I always loved the idea of starting over from scratch, why not shake up our habits, our style and our way of being to find ourselves in the end. Finally, I appreciate the contrast of the downtown with the nearby landscapes that are breathtaking in Australia and in England, even if both countries are totally different, especially in terms of climate, I also like that these countries are very modern and dynamic. I agree that this is also true about France, but I don't really like the French mentality, which is quite limited.
However, I know that I will come back to my country of origin after a few years for many reasons but for instance it's always more pleasant to be comfortable speaking your mother tongue, which I think, must be a little disturbing even if you are fully fluent, and also because there is my family.

  20. Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. Today I would like to share my point of view about this question.
My dream is to live in the United States . Indeed , I had the chance to travel couple of times to New York as my family lives there. I love visiting my aunts. On top of that, I am passionate about basket and the culture around it. My best memory is when I first went to watch a NBA game in Barclays center which is owned by the Brooklyn Nets.USA is an incredible country where everything seems possible. In fact, the notion of “American Dream” is spread overseas and American is seen as a land of opportunities. Thus, I would really like to build my career there. Additionally, I believe that my “French touch “ would be an added value to succeed .
To conclude, I will make everything possible to reach my objectives and the first step is to study hard the English language. But despite that I think that we are lucky to live in France which is one of the most beautiful country around the world and on top of that our culture is wildly know thus we should be grateful to our country.

  21. Hello everyone !

To my mind, living in another country looks very exciting, you can see a lot of advantages but also many disadvantages.

First, even if we study or work, we always have the impression of being on vacation because we always keep our tourist side. Then, what can be interesting when living abroad, is that we learn new things every day, which arouses our curiosity and allows us to discover new people and new cultures. We see the world differently. We discover new facets of our personality.
Furthermore, living abroad allows us to learn a new language or to improve it.
Living abroad generate some freedom of spirit, indeed we can start all over again in a certain anonymity and according to the country, where we decide to live, we can find a better living condition.

Secondly, Living in another country can be complicated because we can have trouble adapting. For example, not speaking the local language can be a handicap to start discussions, to make friendships…
Also, we are used to our own system so we will not be defended as in our home country. For example, in some parts of Latin America, secularism is established there but encounters strong resistance at the social, cultural or traditional.
However, living abroad for a long time can cause homesickness. Our kinfolks, our habits, or the disconnection with our customs can make us feel a lack. For example in many countries we do not celebrate Christmas, or we don't always eat like the French.

In conclusion, going abroad has advantages and disadvantages, but personally I think we should all try one day. According to the trips I could make, I would really like to live in Dubaï.

  23. Hello everyone,

Living in another country is a really interesting experience because one meets new people, one perhaps learns a new language, and most important one learns a new culture. However it can be scary to leave its own country to go in another.

First, going in another country is kind of scary. Indeed, perhaps one doesn’t know anyone so one has to cope on its own. Or if one doesn’t know the language of the country one is going to live in, it can be hard at first to adapt to life in a new country. Also, one could miss its family in a country far from home.
Nevertheless, it is an experience that is really interesting. One learns or improves a language and learns a new culture, which is very good because speaking several languages is really important in our societies: it means one’s opened to the world and maybe is not narrow-minded. Also, one can meet new people, which is interesting because one can exchange ideas with people that don’t have the same culture.

To my mind, if I were to live in another country I would be scared that I couldn’t adapt to life in a new country and I would miss my family and friends. However I would also be very excited to learn new things like language, culture, eating habits. To sum up I think I would love living in another country.

it is "to leave one's country" instead of "its country" and "on his/her own" not "its own".
Also, it is "to go to" not "to go in".
It is wrong to say "one is opened" here, it is "one is open".
