Hello, I really like gardening even if I don't do it. Before when I was little, we had a garden, my father took care of it and I sometimes helped him. I think that gardening has become rarer than before because young people now don't really care. But gardening has many qualities for example when you have your own garden you can plant and grow our own fruits and vegetables and have a healthy diet. It's also a pretty cool activity but I admit that I don't really like touching the earth.
Gardening is one of the most rewarding, entertaining and healthy hobbies. It brings many positives along with it that is why for some, gardening is a way of life, their way to escape from the rest of the world in their own little space.I am lucky to have a garden and I like to take care of it. Even if it can take time and be tiring, I find that it allows us to get some fresh air, to recharge our batteries mentally and physically by being close to nature. This activity also allows me to calm down when I am stressed and to learn more about nature. So I think that from every point of view this activity is enriching.
Hi, I don't have a garden anymore but I had the chance to have a beautiful one surrounding my old house. I really liked spending time relaxing but also gardening with my parents. We would plant flowers, strawberry and raspberry plants but most importantly, my sister and I loved to collect cherries from an old tree. It's quite tiring to maintain a garden pretty but it's definitely worth it in my opinion. Clementine L , 1s3
Actually my grandparents live in a village, near to Nice. In this village, there are not a lot of people but people who live there used to have a garden, so my grandparents have a garden. Because there are too old to garden, my father and I usually do the gardening.
First we determine a place to plant seeds, this is the most difficult part because some vegetables or fruits have special needs in light, water or can not grow in some places. Then we plow the place and we plant seeds. Furthermore, the automatic sprinkler sprinkles the seeds until they grow. Once the good season of the year arrived (some vegetables can be planted at some times of the year) we harvest our vegetables, and then we can eat them.
To conclude, yes I really like gardening because I can spend some time with my father. Then, when you eat the vegetables that you planted, it is very satisfying and you feel very happy to have done something useful. The best moment is when your family eat some vegetables that you made grow and they say that it is good!
I live in a house with a large garden, and as we don't have a gardener, I have to maintain my garden with my family. Although I like to cut trees and bushes or mow the lawn, plant new flowers and make a vegetable garden, there are some things I don't like so much, such as picking up leaves or what I have cut down. I find it boring and really tiring. In short, I like to do gardening sometimes, when the weather is nice but too hot either... but it's not my passion either and I don't do it often. ( that's why my garden hasn't been well maintained) Mathilde Bescond 1S1

Hello, I like gardening, I lived in near Bordeaux for four years, I lived in a house with a spacious garden, my father loves gardening so he taught me how to recognize plants and above all how to select fruit tree, I loved all this moment because I was young and I enjoyed to end my meal climbing in a tree to eat a fresh fruit. Moreover, even if I live, now, in a flat I try to continue to do gardening on my balcony but it is not as in a garden. And I like gardening because it is a very calm and peaceful activity like reading or listen to music. Gardening also remove stress and anguish. Thank you
I am a little taken aback by this question because gardening is something I never actually tried... But I guess I would be awfully impatient to see the flowers open up on the spring season, and I don't think impatience and nature go hand by hand, because it takes time and I am too impulsive for that. So, in my opinion, gardening would be more of an obligation than a real past-time. At last, and what I delay to say, is that I truly don't know if I would like gardening or not, so I can't even begin answering with a yes or a no, just a 'maybe'. Maybe because I don't know what could be the answer, if it is understandable...
Growing my own fruits and vegetables is one of my ambitions. It seems very important to me to consume organic and local products, for our planet - getting fruit or vegetables from places that are far away is an alternative that many people take but it is very harmful to our environment - but also to our body. At a time when Humanity is living more and more in the city, there remains in each of us a deep connection with nature that can be practiced with a practice such as gardening.
Hello everybody, I have never really gardened. But I have always looked my grandfather do it. I learn by looking at him, I find it more exciting. But above all, it is true that gardening is very important for future life. It is passed on from generation to generation. We should not “break” the pace. Gardening is very important because it is a renewable material. It is this know-how that should be developed instead of letting the machines or industries that have taken the place of the men/peasants/farmers do it. Mantero, Manon TS2
I often have the opportunity to do gardening to help my grandmother. And I rather like to do it, especially when it comes to eating the fruits that are planted. However, I find that it requires a lot of work and is quite constraining, especially in summer when it gets really hot. It is still important to know how to do gardening for your personal skills.
Hello every one, In my opinion gardening is a very nice activity that allows us to be in harmony with nature and to think of something else. However, I find it more interesting to grow fruits and vegetables than plants because we can enjoy it. There is nothing more satisfying then planting a seed, watching it grow and eat the rewards while if I was just gardening flowers...they would most likely die. I have to really get a reward for my labour. That being said, as I am doing the harder labour, digging, tilling, it is very rewarding to feel like you worked hard during the day in the sun. Moreover, as most plants and flowers do not grow overnight, one of the most important things you can learn gardening is patience. Gardening can be a great way to learn the value of hard work, patience, determination and caring for others. Finally I think gardening allows to focus on something that will give you a feeling of true achievement and also this helps to keeps fit and lose weight, or simply just stay active. Hello! Well, this is a very funny question! On the one hand, I don't really garden very often because my parents usually do it together and don't need some particular help or because I don't have the time to (even though I am really lazy). However, when it happens I pretty like to do it because it is fun and you can also improve your knowledge in botany. The only drawback is that you can't do it while it is raining or something like that, you have to wait for a sunny day to garden. Furthermore, I think there is actually another drawback (in my opinion) : Gardening takes a lot of time, and the problem is that you won't be in a confortable way for quite long, and so you can hurt your back easily. Thank you for reading, CARLIN Lisa
Since I was little, I’ve always lived in a house with a big garden, so I’ve always been used to seeing my parents doing some gardening during the weekends and the holidays.
When I was younger, we had a big part of our garden which was used for growing and planting fruit and vegetables such as mint, tomatoes, strawberries and herbs that we then used for cooking. I always loved helping my mum do the gardening and picking the strawberries in spring. Moreover, my parents and I used to plant many flowers in our garden which I also loved taking care of. Now that I’m older, I don’t have much time for gardening even though I would quite like to. Sadly, we don’t grow strawberries or mint anymore, but we still plant tomatoes.
To me, gardening is quite fun, and I think it’s a good way to make sure you’re eating healthy fruit and vegetables that aren’t filled with chemicals and pesticides. Nowadays, the fruit and vegetables we buy in supermarkets are filled with chemicals which are harmful not only for the environment but also for our health. My family and I try to buy bio products, but the best would be to grow your own fruit and vegetables whenever you can.
When I was small, I had in my school a little garden. I found the activity of gardenning very "rewarding" because we could see the results of our efforts. Now, I don't make a lot of gardenning, but I still think that it is a great , rewarding activity and that it permits us to let the anxiety, stress and other bad things go, to focus on the present time; it can be very therapeutical!
When I was in primary school, I used to garden in a garden which was near school and I pretty liked it because my friends and I used to come back to school with a basket full of vegetables! So yes, I live gardening.
Hello everyone, Since I live a little far away from the city, I have the chance to have a garden, it is mostly my dad who takes care of it. When I was smaller I dreamed about having my own plants and parts of the garden but it's a dream that never came to life because gardening is a lot of responsibility and you need to know a lot of things about plants and how to take care of them, and I was never capable to grow things by myself. What I really like is the fact that thanks to my dad's talent in gardening I have fresh fruit and vegetables, depending on the season. I saw once some studies about the fact that gardening helps with stress and anxiety but I think that with every single activities that requires some commitment can give you the same effect.
I think gardening is a fun and very relaxing activity. In fact, living in the countryside I sometimes garden, for example by planting flowers or even fruits and vegetables. In my opinion, today, especially teenagers think that gardening is an activity of no particular interest and that it must be practised by adults, but this is not the case, you can garden at any age and thus be more interested in the nature that surrounds you.
Yes, I like gardening because it allows me to spend a moment in the middle of nature. I love the feeling of doing something that will bring something later. But above all I love going to regularly monitor the evolution of my plantations, it is always a pleasure to see them grow! Amélie Asimus 1S3
I like gardening because when I was little I lived in the countryside with my family . And now during the summer holidays we go in Romania because it's my home country . When we get there , there is a lot of work because we have a big garden but it is not a problem because for me gardening is a moment of relaxation and I love it .
Gardening is considered as something that old people do, and some people could think it's rare to see the young ones practicing it. Personally, when I was young I loved to help my grandfather to take care of the garden, grow fruits and vegetables, and eat them later, when they were ripe. I loved planting seeds, and spending time with my grandparents. However, I grew up, and I don't really have the time to do it, espacially because my grandparents live three hours away from home. Furthermore, gardening is a real job, because when we went to Ireland, in my host family, the man worked in gardens, and was planting some plants.
To begin with, let’s talk about gardening. I think it’s a way to relax, to think about something else. it’s also a time to share with friends and family. Moreover it allows us to spend a moment related to nature. it also allows to have a beautiful garden which makes everyone happy. To conclude gardening is a good activity that is soothing.
