  1. Hello,
the identities of a country are numerous and different. However, only few identities are long-lasting. For instance, the history of the country. Indeed, past events like war have a major impact on the country.
The food is another long-lasting identity. It represents a part of the culture and is specific to each country.

  2. Hello,
The identities of a country are relative to a time, a space, a society. That's why it's difficult to find long-lasting identities. For instance, between the seventeenth and eighteenth century, the american identity was in part determined by its link with wildernes, but with its economic, demographic and technological growth, the country has lost this part of its identity.
However, some identities are long-lasting, like the patrimonial identity. It can concern monuments, the gastronomy or a culture preserved through centuries. For instance, the french gastronomy comes from an old tradition preserved through centuries, and it's part of the nation's identity.

  3. In my opinion, long-lasting identities of a country are things like its traditions, what the country brought to the world (that implies its history), and most importantly its language and accent, because this is the very first thing that comes to your mind when you hear a country's name.

  4. A country can have many long-lasting identities. It can be its flag, monuments, or even an individual.
Take for instance ancient Rome. It has a very long history and has many defining architectural designs, as a well as a very iconic man: Julius Caesar who is still remembered even in today's time. Countries can also be remembered for their culture and traditions. Japan has for instance always cherished their famous traditional theather of the kabuki which is still alive and active today, as it was many centuries ago.

  5. Hello,
In my opinion the best exemple of a long-lasting identitie of a country is his language and his variant. Indeed the language is the first thing who create a social identitie for a country. Even if two countries use the same language, most of the time they will be some variations in the way people speak.
Moreover, other long-lasting identities of a country can be found is the food specialties. For food represent a big part of a country's culture.

  6. Hello,
To me what we can define as long-lasting identities of a country is it’s history. Because history is interchangeable I think it tells a lot about a country and is for sure a part of its identity. By paying attention to the history of a country we can see how they acted in different situations, what happened in the past that made them the country that they are today, what was the mentality at different times and what is it today. In history we can also find historical figures, why people looked up to them or not, what they did for the country and what people are thinking of them today.
And last but not least through history we can find different habits and traditions that peoples might still have to this day.
To conclude I think all of those things define a long-lasting identities of a country because every country has an history, and it affect them and their evolution one way or the other.

  7. Every country has long lasting identities . In fact the history of a country, its art, discoveries, natural landscapes , the biodiversity or its monuments can exist for a long time. Even though natural disasters , wars or destructions can ruin this elements, a country can be recognized by its patrimony , belonging to the country as a legacy . Therefore , the language, traditions and habits can’t be considered as long lasting identities of a country because they don’t last for long : firstly because with centuries everything change and if we take the example of the language we can for instance notice that in Italy, a few centuries ago latin was the mother tongue , while now it’s the italian one. Moreover , a tradition can also change , because with time , new ideologies and laws are put on, and evolutions are established for every custom.

  9. Hello,
Perhaps long-lasting identities of a country define it. We could say that language, culture, food, tradition belong to a country. Long-lasting identities could be the signification of a country and the population who lives in it. Maybe we could ask the following question : Long-lasting identities of a country could change over the years? I will answer a "yes" because a country has his own origin and story but it can also changes thanks to or because of the citizenship. I'm sure that the way and conditions of living could bring changement in a society, so could changes a country,long-lasting identities of a country.
