 Something(in our society) is bothering you, discuss it with a friend or a family member.

  1. Two friends discussing in a park after school about how gullible people are in our society.

    -« I was very surprised to see how people believe everything their read on the internet. Moreover they rely on sources which aren’t always reliable. » I said

    -«  I’m also amazed that some politician use their power to make people believe things which are false. Their power allows them to influence the youngest. » he declares.

    -« Yes, It is sad to see that. In addition, I see that people tend to believe what they want to happen, they follow the opinion of people who say things they like to ear. » I respond. « Plus the internet doesn’t solve the situation ! »

    -«  In fact I saw that with fake news, internet is becoming a platform of disinformation. » he affirms with exasperation

    -« I think it depends on how this technology is used. If they think critically, people won't be trapped by false information. Then they have the possibility of having different sources, which is the advantage of the vastness of the Internet. » I add to his idea.

    -«  I agree with you. As a solution we should do prevention to tell people to pay attention to what they hear or read on the internet or on TV » he concludes.

    They left the park as the night began to come.

  2. Mother and daughter at home discussing people being bullied at school.

    - "Mom, I don't understand how some children can bully others I find it horrible! " I said nervously

    -"Yes I agree with you they are ruthless people who destroy the lives of thousands of children in the world and school is the place where bullying is most widespread." she said

    -"Yes it's sad to see that because school should be a safe and healthy place for all of us and for other students it causes a lot of negative things like school phobia which can have serious consequences like suicide and most stalkers are proud of their actions to the point of suicide which is very tragic." I said clearly

    - "Indeed, these stalkers are irresponsible and they are not aware of the seriousness of their acts. School bullying is one of the worst scourges of our society." she concludes

    At the end of this discussion, they returned to their occupations.

  3. A sister and her brother are seating in the lounge room, watching the news, when the subject of climate change appears.

    -"I can't imagine that an other natural disaster happened again." I said.

    -"Yes, it makes me sick to see that nature is being destroyed !" he replies angrily.

    -"I agree, I don't understand how some people keep being stubborn and stupid by believing that climate change doesn't exist because they can't feel the hit or some such thing." I ask with disbelief.

    -"I think that they are being naïve because they don't want to confront reality, they are to scared." He respond rolling over to look at me.

    -"Indeed, so we should act now to save our planet or else it's going to be too late !" I conclude.

    They continued to watch the news.

    "Have you heard about a woman who was found dead in a bathtub
    at home?" I suddenly asked
    "Oh no! It's awful! Do you know what happened," Lucy enquired
    anxiously.
    "We don't know yet but the victim's partner, a police officer, is
    actively sought" I said nervously
    "Why did the police suspect him? Lucy asked abruptly.
    "Because on the morning, he contacted his service to say that he
    would not come. But then he didn't answer the calls" I explained
    slowly.
    « And do you know if the police officer was known for acts of
    domestic violence"? Lucy wondered.
    "I'm afraid he was. The wanted man had been placed in police
    custody for violence against his previous partner, a couple of years
    ago" I pointed out sadly.
    This conversation made us very sad. We were wondering how such
    dramas could still take place in the 21st century. But the bell rang and
    we had to go to class.

  5. My friend Emma and I were going home by bus when it suddenly stopped. We heard crowd shouts from outside and the driver announced that it was a demonstration against the prohibition of abortion in some European countries.
    -"Do you know where it is still forbidden in Europe?", I asked curiously to Emma;
    -"Last summer, I discovered that it was in Malta, when I went there for a few days."Emma answered thoughtfully;
    -"I didn't know it! That's really unbelievable that there are still countries that prohibit abortion nowadays, especially in Europe." I said shocked;
    -"I was upset too when I heard about it. It seems impossible! it's our right, as women, to decide if we want to have children or not!", Emma said annoyed;
    -"I totally agree with you. Nevertheless, I think that recourse to abortion must remain exceptional and that women and men shouldn't stop protecting themselves as long as they do not want children.", I added convinced;
    -"I see eye to eye with you. However, I think that women often do this for a justified reason because they know that it is a very difficult treatment morally and physically. Moreover, I suppose that if they can't do it legally, they still do it illegally or by themselves and put therefore their life in danger.", Emma answered confidently;
    -"Of course, you're right! We should do something to stop this aberration!", I said with willingness;
    -"Yes! We should participate to this demonstration!", Emma suggested hopefully;
    -"Yes! That's a great idea, let's go!" I added enthusiastic.
    We thus asked to the driver to open the doors and joined the crowed excitedly.

  6. My friend and I catching up on a phone call after a long time.

    "Hey ! What's up ?", I asked.
    "Hi ! Nothing much, I have been busy with my mom lately. Actually, she is starting her own organization in order to help the underprivileged.", she responded.
    "That's amazing ! I would love to contribute. We should all try to make a better world for people who can't afford basic necessities.", I added.
    "I know right, let's meet up tomorrow at my house. We'll be making goodies with some vital toiletries and food.", she offered kindly.
    "I am up for it ! In fact, poverty and the difference between the upper and the lower class in our society has been bothering me and I was thinking to start doing more charity. So, we can start with this ! I'll even try to bring some stuff to add in the goodies.", I insisted.
    "Yes, of course ! That will be great !" she answered excitedly.
    "Ok, see you tomorrow, then." I told her.
    "Bye !" she replied.

    I hung up the call and later on went to the grocery store to buy water bottles, pasta, toothbrushes...

  7. My friend and I were sitting in a cafe, when suddenly my friend started to complain about the gender stereotypes that are still normalized in our society.
    -" You know that my mum is a CEO, right ?" She asked calmly.
    -"Yes, I remember that" I answered.
    -"Yesterday my mum received an email, and the first sentence was really interesting." She said ironically.
    -"Why ?" I asked.
    -"Well, because it started with "Hello, Sir" and not "Hello, Ma'am". Can you imagine that ?" She asked angrily.
    -"Maybe this person just made a mistake, I don’t think it’s something serious." I said calmly.
    -"It already happened multiple times, I don't think it's a coincidence" She said angrily.
    -"In that case, it is upsetting. I'm sorry for your mum" I said sighing.
    -"We should be sorry for women in general. I'm so disappointed in our society" She said.
    -"That's true. Why others can't just accept that women can be powerful too and not only men ?" I asked
    -"It is so normalized that only men reach high positions and only them can be successful. Especially in politics and fields related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics." She said.
    -"Right ! Did you know that women earn 16 % less per hour than men ?" I asked her.
    -"Yes, and also 44 % of people in the EU believe the most important role of a woman is to take care of her home and 43 % believe the most important role of a man is to earn money" She said.
    -"We should break those stereotypes, and show everyone what women are capable of" I said excitedly.
    -"I totally agree with you" She said convincingly.
    Then we continued our discussion.
