Christmas means too Christmas movies and songs.
Indeed, with Christmas décorations, Christmas movies and songs, can only put us in the atmosphere and spirit of Christmas!
- What are your favorite Christmas movies and songs? If you do not have one, you can tell those you like to listen to and watch when you were little.
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Frank Sinatra is one of my favorite Christmas songs. I feel like nothing beats the warm fuzzy feeling you get from the classic Christmas songs sung by the classic singers. I think it underlines the Christmas spirit which is very strong here. To finish, this song always makes me happy and sad at the same time it has an emotional power over people.

Hi everyone,
ReplyDeleteI do not have a particular favorite Christmas Carol but I really like "All I want for Christmas" from Mariah Carey and it was very nice to learn it in class ! Since then, I am always hearing this song, as well on the radio as in shopping center.
Moreover, the song "Last Christmas" reminds me of my childhood since my family and I used to listen to it for Christmas.
Christmas is coming in very soon and I look forward to spending time with my relatives.

hello,
ReplyDeleteas marie, I really like the song "all I want for christmas" but I prefer the one with justin bieber, I don't know why, I think it's more swinging than the original one.
about to choose a movie for christmas, I will definitely go for "love actually" which is a movie about love but on christmas time and you see a lot of stories that mix and match together. like the main character of one story is the cousin of another main character of the second story, and you go from one to another story, and again to the first one, like that all along the movie. it may sounds difficult to understand but it's very easy and it's a really good movie, with great actors.
Hello everybody !!!
ReplyDeleteTo begin with, as for me, Christmas is a very important period and I like it very much ! During this time of the year, the first thing I do, is to listen to some Christmas’ carols. Indeed, I like to listen to quite popular Christmas songs that you can always hear during the Christmas holidays in shops and in a lot of public places. Those are, for instance, « Jingle Bell » and « Jingle Bell Rock », or « We wich you a Merry Christmas ». However, my favorite one will still be « All I want for Christmas is you » from Mariah Carey. Indeed, I usually listen to it all day long during the Christmas holidays with some friends and sometimes my family.
Moreover, when I was young, I liked to watch Christmas movies. By the way, I remember that I watched « The Grinch » a lot. I also liked to see « The Nutcracker » and « Mickey’s Christmas Carol » because I liked Disney movies very much. Now, I still watch this kind of movie. I usually watch it with some friends or with my family while drinking a very nice hot chocolate.

As I said earlier, the song "Last Christmas"-Wham makes me laugh a lot because in my opinion it's far too romantic to be taken seriously but I must admit that strangely,I like it and when we listen this song during Christmas day , it stays in my head and it doesn't bother me anymore... before the Cambridge exam I didn't listen "All I want for Christmas" by Mariah Carey but now it will make me think of Christmas and good moments in high school... Regarding movies, I loved when I was young "the express pole":to sum up, it's a young boy who runs away in a magical train (like the Poudlard Express) to see Santa Claus in the Nord Pole, it happens a lot of things on its way ... I like also "The Nine Lives of Christmas ", which is a Christmas film not very original for the script but very funny!

ReplyDeleteThen, I don’t look at movie or I don’t listen to particular music at Christmas. But I have already seen the movie ‘’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas’’ of Ron Howard. This movie is laughable but I don’t look forcing during the parties Christmas. However, this movie has beautiful morality. It takes place a character (his name is Grinch) who doesn’t love the Christmas Day. Indeed, he lives a difficult childhood. He wanted to live like as everybody. But his physical difference makes that these classmates rejects him. He doesn’t like seeing happy people because he doesn’t have was happy and suffered from it. He lives only just with his dog which is called Max. Furthermore he hasn’t friends. But at the end he is going to help people and their offer even gifts. Thanks to a girl of Cindy Lou’s name who is going to try to know this character so different and she is going to reason with it.
Then as everybody I listen to the song of little dad Christmas. If no when I was a child I looked at many of cartoon. It are broadcast at the approach of the parties. For example, on Monday on TF1 there is the cartoon ‘’Raiponce’’ (I like this cartoon with this princess with these long hairs) On it cross of good parties!!!

Hi everyone ! 🎄
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, in my mind, and as Esther said, Christmas songs and movies put us in the atmosphere of Christmas. I have impression that Christmas movies is more an American tradition, because there is a lot. In France, and in Europe I suppose, the songs are more traditional than movies. For example we have many chorales and religious songs. But also recent songs become famous like the album of Tino Rossi and Henri Des.
Personally, I remember when was young I watch many times the movie "The Polar express". I was six years old when I saw for the first time, and I really enjoyed this film. Firstly this film is like an adventure. There is many action and children live a lot of things. The 3d was realistic and the characters were credible in their personalities. Moreover, the morality of end was really good because it gave a lesson.
To conclude I would say that I was more in the mood of Christmas when I was kid because I was watching more movie of Christmas than today ! 🎊🎉

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI've got many Christmas songs that I loved! Because I love all Christmas songs, but in this time I listen "Santa Clause Is coming To Town", this song was very cover by all the famous people.
Otherwise, for the Christmas movie, i'm crazy about all the movie of love who are brodcast on TF1.
When I spend Christmas with my grandparents on my father's side, Christmas songs are really important. My grandmother comes from a typical German family so music has always played a big part in her life. She plays all old Christmas songs at the piano and when I was younger we used to play "silent night" together. This song always reminds Christmas. This is like a symbol which, when I hear it, makes me think about the laughs and the happiness of this event that happens only once a year. From my point of view the movie which represents the best Christmas is "The Gremlins". I watch it every year and this is a family moment that I would never miss!
ReplyDeleteHI EVERYONE !!
ReplyDeleteTo start with, as for me i don’t celebrate Christmas nevertheless it is a very important period and I like it very much ! Because I learnt what was the spirit of Christmas thanks to my English teacher .During this time of the year, the first thing I do even i don’t celebrate it, is to wear my ugly sweatshirt. Indeed, I like listening some Christmas songs that they are in mood of Christmas.
However, even if i'm a negligent girl who don't like Mariah Carey i'm in love with this song« All I want for Christmas is you ».
On top of it, when I was young, I played with my brother to disguise as Santa Claus, that was so funny we had a lot of funny time and actually we still do it.
By the way, I also liked to see « The Christmas Card » this is a romantic movie during this period. Now, I still watch this kind of movie like « Happy Christmas » just films that are newer. I usually watch it with my family while eating popcorn and drinking hot chocolate.

Hello !
ReplyDelete- To begin with, there are lots of christmas movies or songs like "All I want for Christmas " by Mariah Carey, "Last Christmas" by Wham. Moreover when I was young I liked to watch Christmas movies like "Christmas Carol" by Walt Disney.
- But now my favourite song is "Let it snow" by Dean Martin, this song is for an advertising ( the chocolate:kinder ) and every moment when I heard this song on the TV I dance a lot like a crazy girl.
- To finsh, I think that the most important is to be happy during this period, forget your problems and spend good time with your family. So Merry Christmas and Happy new year to everyone !

I totally agree with Camille! It is true that practically all the movies on Christmas are American, it sounds like a tradition. I also find that it is the same with the songs. Most of the Christmas songs we listen to are American. Personally, I tend to listen to Christmas songs rather than movies to put me in the Christmas mood. I have several favorite Christmas songs: All I want for Christmas by Mariah Carey, obviously; Last Christmas by Wham; Let it Snow by Dean Martin; White Christmas by Frank Sinatra; Santa Claus is Coming to town by Bing Crosby and The Andrew Sisters; It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Andy Williams, etc... I don't hide that during this time of the year, I tend to listen several to be in the mood. As for movies, I don't see much. When I was little I liked to watch different movies like Mickey it was once Christmas; Mickey Christmas Under the snow; The buddies celebrate Christmas; and The Mission of Christmas Dog. Sometimes, on the evening of December 24th, my brother and I were watching movies that were on TV when we were with our grandparents. The main movies that were spent were Disney movies. I think these are the best. We liked watching them.
ReplyDeleteHello! I don't really have a favorite Christmas movie but it's necessary to say that I like very much movies comedy such as "the Grinch", "Mom I missed the plane" or still "The Santa Claus is a garbage" which contain quite a lot of black humor what is even more fun I find! The best part is that that finished always well. Furthermore, I have to admit that I like very much also cartoons! Thus for Christmas I don't go without it! :P

Nice holidays!
To my mind movies and song are a huge part of Christmas because it intensify the atmosphere and spirit of Christmas my favorite songs are "all I want for Christmas is you " I know it's not really original it might be one of the most listened song "baby it's cold outside"
ReplyDelete"Last Christmas " "winter wonderland " "white christmas " and finally "silent night ". My favorite movies are: "the family stone " then "home alone " a classic which I recommend you if you haven't seen it yet and the bishop's wife and it has nothing to do with it but I'm crazy about the first wives club but basically everything on tv they're all nice to watch alone or with your family course it's not the greatest actors in general but you can feel really comfortable and feel the magic of Christmas
first of all, Christmas is my favorite time of the year. During this period I watch a lot of christmas movies. I don't have a favorite one, I like all the classic christmas movies like "home alone"...
ReplyDeleteI also listen to christmas songs: "all I want for christmas", "last christmas", and "let is snow" are my favorite.
Hello!
ReplyDeleteThere is a movie which I often watch. It is «the Grinch». I watch it almost every year because it reminds me many memories. Indeed, when I was a child, my sister and I had wanted to watch it. We were so afraid of this strange green man, and we also didn't even watch the end. Years later we decided to reattempt the experience because it was on television. We laughed at us. Indeed, this movie is not terrible at all and is even rather funny. Now it is as a tradition, every Christmas my sister and I watch this movie in memory of our girls' worst nightmare.

Before anything, I would like to wish everyone ( teachers or pupils) a merry Christmas. It is the best time of the year to actually take time to enjoy our family! As far as I am concerned, we do not sing quite often but we do listen to songs like "Jingle bells" "White Christmas" or the famous "All I want for Christmas. With my little cousins, we also have every year a Harry Potter or a Star Wars "marathon". Indeed, we manage to see every movie in less than a week.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, "maman j'ai raté l'avion" is by far the better film for Christmas. As the title itself suggests, it talks about a couple with 12 childrens (?) who left home for the christmas holiday and forgot one of their boy at home (who was sleeping). Lonely, this little boy, aged of 8 is very happy to leave his brothers and sisters. However, thieves tries to enter home and stoll everything. With genius and all his stuff, the boy will try to keep the burglars away during the period of Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHello everybody !!!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite christmas movie is the Grinch, when I was younger, I was to afraid by the Grinch to watch this movie without crying. Now, I can't spend christmas holliday without watching it.
My favourite christmas song is "Let it Snow", I think it should be the christmas official anthem ! I could hear this song in summer it will still give me the christmas spirit.

Hello Everybody !
ReplyDeleteTo my mind, It's really important to watch Christmas movies and hear Christmas song to intensify the atmosphere of Christmas.

For my part, there are so much good feelings attached to Christmas music that, every year, I look forward to the Christmas playlist on the radio as soon as december comes ! These songs soak me in the Christmas atmosphere and I can’t help thinking of the Christmas Eve, the delicious meal and then the magic moment when all presents are opened...
ReplyDeleteI started this habit as a child when my mother and I were driving back to my grandparent’s house for Christmas holiday. It was sometimes cold and dark, but in the car, we listened to the beautiful Christmas songs and we feel joyful and relaxed.
For example, when «Jingle Bells» rang, I just thought about Santa Claus and the Christmas bells and wanted to dance with the music ! On the other hand, when I listened to «Silent Night», I always dreamt of a beautiful snowy landscape with a big forest of Christmas trees... Not to mention this dear Rudolph and his cute little red nose ! This song is in fact very peaceful, and for my part it’s one of the best Christmas songs ! Then, with «Winter Wonderland», I dreamt of a great walk throught the glistening snow with my family and friends... And finally, with «Walking in the air», an other of my favourite songs, I just closed my eyes and enjoyed the song !
So, when you sometimes feel down, just put on your favourite Christmas playlist and say goodbye to sadness !!!

Hi !
ReplyDeleteFirstly, during the festive season I always enjoy watching Christmas themed movies, in my opinion A Christmas carol by Robert Zemeckis, The Grinch by Ron Howard and Elf by John Favreau are the best movies for this time of year.
Secondly, there are so many excellent Christmas songs, my favorite ones are Last Christmas by Wham also the covers by Beth and Ariana Grande are really good, and obviously All I want for Christmas by Mariah Carey.
All in all, Christmas movies and songs are great because they help us get into the Christmas spirit !
One of my favorite Christmas movies is a film called `Sun Valley Serenade’. Sun Valley Serenade is a 1941 musical film; it features the Glenn Miller Orchestra as well as dancing by the Nicholas Brothers and Dorothy Dandridge, performing "Chattanooga Choo Choo", which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song.
ReplyDeleteThis film tells about the orchestra who has decided to take an adoptive child, a refugee but as a result they got a young, clever girl from Norway .The essential part of the film takes place on a winter resort .In fact the original purpose was in advertising this resort, when the heroes arrive at this place we can notice the description of what we can do here. Ski resort could not be more successful scene: the characters are cut off from civilization, the situation at the same time exotic and aristocratic.
The beauty and silence of nature, major music, grandiose scenery, fun, sometimes a little imaginary - all discreetly distract the audience from the social and political problems: the Great Depression, the Second World War which took place at that time. In my own opinion this is a very good film from which we can learn a lot about the culture of 20th century and that people can live normal life even during world problems
