ReplyDeleteTo my mind Christmas time is one of the best period in the year! I believe Christmas is a time when you should try to forgive people, get in touch with friends and family you haven't seen in a long time, have fun, relax... Christmas is also an opportunity to create new good memories! For me Christmas is also synonym of eating a lot and eating good food! At Christmas in my family we are more than twenty! So we have a huge dinner and we laugh all together! I also have to say that one of the best part of Christmas is on the 25th when we open our presents!

ReplyDeleteFor me Christmas represent family gathering , In fact in France I have just my parents. My brother , my cousins...etc live in other countries ( Canada , Italy ....).I only see them for christmas and new year ! so I'm very happy when Christmas is coming.

Actually, I am not christian so Christmas is not a religious event for me, it is just a part of the French culture, but, the meaning is still the same, a time of family moments, forgiveness and happiness. This holliday didn't always had this meaing for me, actually, when I was young, it was a sad moment for personnal reasons, but now, as a teenager, I start to get over the past and just enjoy my childhood almost over. I want to share the rest of my time as "my parents's little baby" as the family's child, I want to enjoy Christmas and all the celebration that it implies, christmas songs, christmas trees, presents ... are just AMAZING !!!

However originally Christmas was a religious event, nowadays it is a time to forgive, to enjoy moments with your family and to eat ! Most of families are reunited for Christmas holidays and have a huge dinner ! Children receive lots of presents and are very excited about this part of the year. As for me, Christmas is also a time to do shopping with my mother and my sister !

To my mind, Christmas means gathering with the people we love, sharing a great moment, and of course celebrating. To me, it also means partying and having fun with people we care about. Christmas is a moment of happiness where we eat a lot of good things and also when we receive presents! I like the atmosphere, the winter spirit which involves a cosy and friendly atmosphere. For me, Christmas is one of the best times of the year. I love Christmas! The atmosphere, the sharing, the meals... I can believe it's Christmas soon!! It really makes me happy! Christmas is originally a Christian holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus. However, even if this party is originally Christian, many people make Christmas, whether Christian or not. Christmas, for me, is above all a great moment of sharing with his family, or even with his friends. The purpose of this party is to forget any tensions or disagreements, and enjoy. The spirit of Christmas is something magical and wonderful!

Indeed in a week, it’s holidays! But these holidays are the most important because there are two interesting parties. First there is Christmas but also the change of year. The new year. To return on the subject which is ‘’What does Christmas mean to you?’’ For me the holiday Christmas are very important because I will go to Paris for see my family. I celebrate so Christmas with them. That’s why I love Christmas by it’s magical moments and of sharing with her family. That I see rarely only during these holidays.

As far as I'm concerned, I've always loved Christmas and I'm always really excited when the holidays start. To buy the presents and then to see the smiles on people's faces are every year moments I can't forget. However there are little things that I dislike for example the stress when we have to prepare everything before the guests arrived. It is supposed to be Christmas so why it is always such a mess! But there is some much good points that I fast forget the negative ones. When I think about Christmas I usually see family reunited but I also know there are some people who can't see the persons they love, that makes me really sad and I understand how lucky I am. So I hope every one will have a good time as I will.

ReplyDeleteFor me, Christmas is the best time of the year. We bring our family together and eat so well! Christmas also allows children to believe in Santa Claus and realizes all their wishes. I think everyone is happy for Christmas except my father, it does not celebrate Christmas, I never understood why, but I often celebrate it with the family on my mother's side. For me, Christmas is a unique moment that must be enjoyed every year, I love celebrate Christmas as it should be.

Even more than the 25 of December in itself, I love the days before Christmas:all the shops are decorated, all the people go looking for the last minute gifts or the food for the Eve of Christmas! I love the effervescence caused by Chirstmas! Moreover,I appreciate as much choose gifts as to receive them: even being impatient, to spend time in the malls to find nice gifts for my friends and family don't disturb me,on the contrary! Of course spending Christmas with my family is obvious, but not only: we like invite close friends because Chirstmas is also synonymous with conviviality!

When you say "Christmas", you think directly of your family, the winter is coming, the falling snow (like on americans cliche movies), the gifts that share. It is wonderful to see people smiling and being happy, to see families reunited.
So to answer clearly to your question, Christmas to me is happiness, the joy, and the most important it is the moments that share with your family.
As far I'm concerned Christmas is the day to share but not necessarily a gift. You can share a mile or time for instance. Christmas is the day to share with other, spend great time surrounding by all people, that you love and make memory. It's the time to put away your problem and to bring friends back together.

DeleteFor me Christmas is a moment of sharing. We must forget all the rancor and the familly comes together in the joy and the conviviality. In my familly there is always a person who disguises herself in Santa Claus and who knocks on the door at midnight with the présents because there are little children. It is always a very funny moment because the Santa Claus is more original from years to years. As I have a family rather numerous it is also the moment to see everybody and especially those who do not live any more in France. To conclued, I love Christmas because of the cool athmosphere and the good meal!

ReplyDeleteI personally love to walk through the streets the days before Christmas and admire the Christmas lights everywhere, listen to the sound of carols in the air. Everyone seems to be more joyful and smiling than usual, there is an athmosphere of serenity all around you !
But what I like above all is the Christmas Eve. That day, we prepare the dinner and decorate the table all together, then we listen to Christmas carols on the radio by admiring the beautiful dishes, candles, stars and Christmas tree ornaments… And we finally enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner all together !
But for my part, the best moment is when, after a short night, children - and older - discover mysterious presents under the Chritmas tree... There is no words to describe the magic atmosphere of this exceptional moment !

For me, Christmas means a lot because I think that it is the best time of the year. During the four weeks just before Christmas, my mother and my sister make Cookies almost everyday, there are some cute and romantical movies on TV about the "Christmas Spirit" and most of the people seem to be happy in December. Yesterday, I went to the supermarket and I saw some kids smiling because they had taken a photo with a fake Santa Claus. It reminds me that Christmas is also known as "a party for children", so I hope I will not have to grow up too fastly, but I think that in December adults are allowed to act as children. That is one of the little things that make these days just before and just after Christmas really magical and that is why I love Christmas!

Nevertheless , I love offering presents especially to my family . As I have already said in my last post , Christmas won't be a great moment with my family . On December the 24th , sharing a beautiful meal like everyone won't be easy . Moreover , I like candles , snow ( even if in Nice it almost never snow ) , the advent calendar ...
On the other hand , the best thing before Christmas is the songs !! I am always singing on Christmas Eve , sharing Christmas music with my family ( my favorite is " all I want for Christmas is you " of course ) .
All in all , as for me Christmas is a great day when you can share laughs , music , happiness , presents with your whole family . However , this day isn't as " perfect " for myself this year .

Christmas means a lot to me for different reasons. The most important aspect of Christmas all over the world is to spend time with family and friends, no matter how the festivities are carried out. Christmas Day, for many busy families, is the one day of the year when everyone is able to gather in one room at the same time. Christmas time is also an important time for charities. As well as gathering donations, charities also recieve an abundance of volunteers willing to give their time to those in need, perhaps helping to prepare meals for the homeless, or wrap gifts for those who otherwise might not receive any. What I like about Christmas is that sort of solidarity wich is rarely formed nowadays. People are more open and we can feel the Christmas spirit all over the air.

Personally, I think this is the best quote about Christmas. Indeed, Christmas is one of my favourite holidays of the year. I love everything about it: decorating the tree and the house, exchanging gifts, eating nice festive meals…
Moreover, I think it should be the time of year when friends and family get together and spend time with each other. Also, Christmas should be a time for traditions, for example, my family and I always have a walk before eating on Christmas day. It allows us to share magical moments and make lifelong memories !

ReplyDeleteFirst of all we must know that every religion have a Christmas indeed Christmas is for Christians people, it' s time to celebrate Jesus birth, for jewish people it is different, it is called : Hanukkah and it remembers the rededication of the second Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. And concerning Chinese people, a tradition that's becoming popular, on Christmas Eve, is giving apples. Many stores have apples wrapped up in colored paper for sale.
As for me Christmas is very important because I am catholic and it is the most important celebration of the year. I think it is very good for all the family to spend time together, receive present and sing a lot of Carol like "All I want for Christmas " !
However, every year many poor children in the World haven't the opportunities to celebrate Christmas and that makes me fell sad.
To finish, like Emilie said we must admit that christmas, for most people, is more commercial than religious.

I think that Christmas is above all a feast of joy and happiness, where our family meet, where we offer présents.
I can not understand why admitting the existence of a magical being is "Santa Claus", while it is our family that seeks to please us, who giving us gifts.For my part if I have children, I will tell them that it is we, the parents who are at the origin of all this and not an unknown
What I like most at Christmas is the part of the game "risk" that is done every year. This takes us to mouns two hours and it's really great fun

However it depends of course on your beliefs. To Christians, Christmas means the mass of Jesus -mass being a communion.
Furthermore sharing your joy at Christmas eve with your family is a unique opportunity.
At home, we decorate the house with prickly leaves from holly, mistletoe, laurel and a fir tree.
Finally, Christmas dinner and gift opening are also exciting and thrilling moments.

Hello! For me Christmas means a lot! Indeed, it is the celebration which brings a lot of enjoyment. It allows to meet all together and to create links. What I like particularly for Christmas, it is the decoration of the Christmas tree. It allows to pass of the good time with the family and it is rather funny. Have a walk the night in the city is also pleasant because decorations, music, Christmas market and atmosphere which is there really puts us in the universe of Christmas and I find that really great. It is a bracket in the course of which we forget the bad news which swamp us in everyday life. To summarize, I would say that Christmas is one of the most important celebration of the year after my birthday of course... (no I make fun!) On these last words I wish a merry christmas all the world.

ReplyDeleteChristmas is the holidays where we gather with our family and spend time together. It is a great period with much activity in towns although the weather is cold. Indeed , streets are decorated and people buy presents .
As for me , I eat a lot of chocolate and sometimes help my brother to cook.. It also means a period to rest . People who work all along the year take a break for Christmas But us who study at high-school we get 2 weeks. For those who love skiing and snowboarding , the skiing season generally starts around Christmas .When I was a child , I was more interested in my future gifts and I waited Christmas with excitement. Still ,now I am happy because I hang out with friends and see my family for dinner .
Christmas means to me a house full of happiness.
First of all I would like to say that for me Christmas holidays are the best holidays of the year, because of the atmosphere. Indeed we are all in a Christmas mood and because I have got family in Germany it is even better. In Germany we already start to celebrate Christmas 4 weeks before the 24 th. Every week we light a candle on a crown made from the branches of a fir tree. When we were still small children, Saint Niclas came on the 6th of December to pick up our Christmas lists and at the same time leave us a little present. Moreover, on the 1st of December we received an advents calendar with 24 little doors that are to be opened everyday until Christmas. This was always very much fun, but also added to the anticipation of Christmas! During December we baked ‘Plätzchen’, a German speciality that are little cakes with spices and are formed in funny shapes. Baking them filled the house with a delicious smell.

The 24th of Christmas my entire family has dinner together and we can feel that this is a time of bonding. Every year I spend my Christmas holidays in Germany and it’s really a great moment!
