Michigan's attorney general has promised a full investigation into how sports doctor Larry Nassar was able to abuse young women for decades while working at a university in the state. Nassar was effectively sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday for sexually abusing young athletes. Nearly 160 women accused Nassar, 54, of abuse.

What do you think about that ?
According to you, why it took times before the supreme court noticed ?

  1. Hello everyone!
This story is amazing because this person sexually abused 160 athletes.
I do not understand how a person who is supposed to look after the athletes or to take care of their physical interviews can act in this way and especially to recidivate a hundred times.
I think the Supreme Court took a lot of time because the athletes were surely extremely shocked and did not have the strength to speak about Nassar's inhumane acts.
Moreover, I think that the sanction inflicted on Nassar by the Supreme Court is absolutely justified and deserved.

  2. Hello everyone !
I'm very much choked to hear that doctor Nassar sexually abused 160 young athletes for decades without being punished. I can imagine he kept abusing them because the victimes were too shy to protest. They were probably ashamed to admit the way they have been treated. Also, it was maybe easier for them to ignore this prejudice than making it public. They would have suffered more by telling somebody about it.
And this is for sure the reason why the Supreme Court didn’t notice before. Anyway, to my mind doctor Nasser deserved the Supreme Court sanction of life in prison. I wouldn’t imagine another issue for him.

  3. Hi everyone,
This story is absolutely horrible and i doubt that this man is the only one doing things like this.
I think that the reason why it took so long is because these women were ashamed(even though they did not, in any way shape or form, do anything wrong) and they didn't want to make this story public.
They wanted to go on with their lives, they most probably did not know that more than a hundred other women had gone through the same thing.
His sentence is more than deserved because these women have to go through life terrified, they will go on with their lives thinking that every man on the street is himself a rapist and it will be very hard for them to go on because there in no such thing as moving on from something like this.

  4. Hello everybody,

First, I think it’s horrible that Larry Nassar did that because he took a part of women he raped. He traumatised them, which is unbearable. I don’t understand how he could do something that abominable. He was supposed to be the one who could heal gymnasts from joint diseases, but instead of curing them, he raped them.

So many people are victims of raping and it’s something I think we should condemn like murder because it’s the same than taking life from someone. I heard some of his victims saying they were in his basement when he was doing that and it proves they trusted him and he took from them their trust in others and even in themselves. When he raped them, he was talking to them daily conversations like it was normal, but it’s not. A girl commited suicide because she suffered from depression because of that. He did that for his own pleasure and did not think of how the victims would feel, which is sickening.
I think that it took time before the supreme court noticed because of several reasons : the victims were maybe too traumatised to realize what he did or people did not believe them because Larry Nassar was a renowned doctor. I think that they felt uncomfortable with themselves because of him so they tried to hide and forget it.

This monster is now in jail and I’m glad he is because he totally deserves to die in jail after what he did to over 150 women.

    1. Hello everyone, I made some mistakes :
It is "he took away a part of the women he raped" not "he took a part of women he raped" ; it is "the same as" instead of "the same than" ; and "he was having daily conversations with them" instead of "he was talking to them daily conversations".
      Thanks for reading,

  5. Hi everyone !

I would like to share with you my opinion about Larry Nassar's case.
First of all, I'm really shocked that somebody allowed himself to take advantage on someone else. But here, 54 years old man. He has the age to be almost their father. Moreover, they trusted him and he took advantage of that to rape and steal a part of the victim's life doing that.

When we trust someone and she disappoint us, we feel sad, soil, swindle and it's exactly what the 160 victims must have been feeling.
So many women suffer from violence, rape and it's unacceptable because it's destroy a life. We became a other person, we no more control our body.
Obviously, I understand that the victims didnt' want to bear witness but we, the women, need them to make our lives better jailing the louse like him.

  6. Hello, in my last post I made some mistakes: "take advantage of someone else", "she disappoints", "another person" and "but we, women, need them to make our lives better"

  7. For starters, what this person did is foul. Abuse young athletes while the latter are poorly developed (hence the reason for the visit to the doctor), it is really an act unworthy of a doctor, sorry, a student of medicine ...
In addition, there were 160 complaints against him, which proves that he was really guilty and that it was not a simple mistake.
Now, why did it take so long before the Supreme Court realized it and well, I think I have my idea ...
In fact, by researching, I realized that Nassar had been tried and convicted in 2018.
I think the Supreme Court could not believe that this man could do that ...
It was not until the end of 2017, when Harvey Weinstein was guilty of several rapes, that we began to take seriously the complaints filed by young and old young ladies who had been victims of sexual harassment ...
Thus Nassar was sentenced in 2018 following these 160 complaints against him.
In our society, if we accept this kind of person, we accept sexual harassment, therefore men (or rather animals) ignoble and without any moral values.
