  1. Hello!

I think that we have to be careful with myths for different reasons.
Firstly, I would like to underline that in a lot of myths, heroes are not humans or they are humans with a lot of abilities. That could be dangerous because some persons may want to imitate the heroes of different myths and it could be really dangerous for those persons.
Secondly, I would like to say that some myths can deal with dangerous religions, gods or practices and rituals; so these myths could be dangerous because a lot of person would believe in that god or in that religion which can be harmful. In fact the danger is when people begins to believe in myths as if those were the true reality. Myths are full of supernatural things, but also historical lies. Even if the myth is based on an historical root, most of the time it is biased by the point of view, and by the time.

  2. Hi everyone,

First, I wanted to say that myths are not the truth, so it can be dangerous and that’s why we should be careful with them.

In the book « To kill a Mockingbird », a lot of myths are shown. The author wants to criticize prejudice and assumption. As an example, Atticus denounces Alabama’s assumption that “all Negroes lie, that all Negroes are basically immoral beings, that all Negro men are not to be trust around our women”. This assumption had Tom Robinson to be in jail and to be killed, even though he was innocent and never hurt anyone. This myth is dangerous.
There are also myths that everyone believes in, like the fact that there’s a real winter once with snow, and that it is because children like Scout and Jem are bad. According to Mr. Avery, it is written on the Rosetta Stone. This myth isn’t dangerous, but it is stupid, because it’s not the truth.

We have to be careful with myths, because it can hurt innocent people. We shouldn’t listen to myths and shouldn’t spread rumours because they are not the truth and are hurting.

    1. Hello everyone,

I'm sorry, I made mistakes : it is "to be trusted" and not "to be trust" ; and "had Tom Robinson sent to jail where he was killed" instead of "had Tom Robinson to be in jail"

      Thanks for reading.

  3. Hi everyone ,
Myths are sometimes important for people but we have to understand why its important so as to be careful with myths before believing in them.
First, myth is a oral story sometimes which started since many generations a long time ago. But we know that myth can be false for example in "To Kill a Morking Bird"by Haper Lee ,the man who lives with a black woman doesn't drink alcohol but only drinks coca. If a false myth is created about someone it can be unfair for him . The myth about Boo Radley creates ridiculous situations, for insistance Scout runs pass the Radley 's place because she is afraid . Imagines that a false myth is created about you ,you can be sad because people's behaviour towards you.
I can't understand why people believe in things that can never be prouved by something real . Except fo religion who is different from myth to me . But probably, these myths can create a bad relationship between people. We have to be careful and not to always believe in what people says without being sure of what he said."To Kill a Morking Bird is a good example because everyone in Maycomb has a myth attached to them.
To conclude, I think we must see with own eyes what people are to have a truth opinion.

  4. Hello everybody,

To start with, I would like to say that all the people feel concerned by myths. Furthermore, myths are in our life no matter what, they make us remember where we come from and how the aboriginals lived and fight for what we have now. Myths are more than just some stories.

After that, I think the myths are some tools for the whole new population to remember and to know the history and the culture of the countries in which we live and also the country we visit.
But we need to keep up and protect the sense of it and to be non-violent towards the aboriginals. We must be respectful towards the old traditions which are the sign of past.

To conclude myths are also sacred places and if we deform the truth that could hurt peoples and create some violence. That's why we have to prevent the people who are disrespectful towards myths.
