Technology

Has new technology (robots and machines) made our lives easier or more difficult?
In what ways?

  1. Hey.
New technologies have made our lives easier because we can now cook more easily with certain machines, cure diseases previously considered incurable, have a robot do the housework for a person with reduced mobility for example, or to do the hardest work for a human being because robots are efficient and polyvalent, and more!

But new technologies are also making life difficult for us, for example in China where the streets are monitored by a lot of cameras. They recognize people using facial recognition and give Chinese people points, good or bad, depending on what they are doing. For example, if someone throws something on the street, they get bad points. Depending on the number of points, the person receives privileges or restrictions. It is a very hard and difficult system for Chinese people because they have no freedom and are constantly judged according to defined criteria.

  2. Robots can make our lives easier, for instance when you are at the supermarket and they are a lot of people, the automatic checkout help us to go faster. But the robots can make our lives difficult too, because the cashiers are remplaced by automatic robotized checkout. So robots bring to us positive technologic factors and also social negative factors.

  3. I believe new technologies have their pros and cons. On the one hand they make our lives easier by reducing our efforts (with the addition of machines in industries for instance) or by allowing us to communicate with one another at all times. But, on the other hand technologies are often polluting: most technologies cause pollution during their creation, others pollute while being used like cars and most of them can't be recycled. On top of that machines sometimes reduce the number of employment which is always a bad thing.

  4. The inventions of robots and machines has allowed us over the past years to automate previously tedious jobs such as industrial work, which consisted of repetitive activities. New technologies get rid of all the hard and manual work for us and facilitates many tasks. For instance in construction work, it is now much easier to build buildings with cranes and bulldozers than to do it all with your hands and your body alone. However, automation leads to a higher rate of unemployment. While the job gets easier, less people are needed for it. These new technologies also release huge amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which is today the main cause of global warming. Even if new technologies have made our lives significantly easier, we shouldn't ignore its consequences and its impact on our environment.

  5. The society in which we live today is very much oriented towards new technologies.
Indeed, technology makes our lives easier on many levels.
As far as work is concerned, it allows us to work faster. As far as medicine is concerned, it is possible to treat many pathologies. It also allows us to organise ourselves better in everyday life, to set an alarm clock in the morning, to learn languages, to control our home, etc...

However, there is not only good in technological innovations.
We can easily become addicted to screens, and thus be disconnected from the world. Also, our privacy and personal information are not sufficiently protected.

  6. For me, in one hand new technology can be very useful for our life and for our futur because nowadays, robots can be use to medicine they are more precise or in the army robot like drone they can allow us to fly over dangerous areas without putting ourselves in danger. In the other hand new new technologies can increase the risk of problems if exposed to young children making them assosiale moreover they can suffer cyber bulliyng.

  7. I think New technology has really made our lives easier in a lot of ways, because nowadays we have an electronic device for every task we could have to do, from cooking to cleaning, passing through closing shutters or alarms to remind us of things to do. But in the long run, wouldn't that increase our dependence on machines? When people have the choice between doing something themselves or having some machine or AI to do it, they often choose the more lazy way. So to sum it up I would say that new technology made our lives easier, but in the future we will have to be careful with technology and try to do things on our own when we can.

  8. Hello!
Technology is omnipresent and touches pretty much every aspect of our lives. Technology is so important in the daily lives of people and in businesses today that many of us cannot imagine a life or a future without it.In my opinion the new technology made our lives easier with machine can process the equivalent of a million books a second. It’s analyzing and diagnosing cancer biopsies and it’s doing so with more speed than any human can or will ever be able to do.

  9. New technology has positive and negative points . First of all, robots and machines exerce the work that a worker or a person in general is supposed to do, they do the work for us and therefore reduce our effort. For instance , in the working world, it is beneficial for employers whom hire less employees than before thanks to the new technology wich replaced them , So this makes our lives easier because it reduces our work . However , new technology can make our lives difficult because as the robots and machines replace people ´s work , a part of the population find themselves unemployed because of it . Then , for instance , if we take the example of the thermomix , we can say that it is really usefull because it makes ourlives easier cooking and baking every recipe at our place but on the other hand I think that it is not as good as we imagine because we don’t do nothing anymore , we just put ingredients and wait that everything is ready so we completely loose our efficiency in doing and preparing things.
