  2. Yes, I think we need a day devoted to this because suicides these days are increasing, around the world, a person commits suicide every 40 secondes.
It is said that 20 people attempted to end their lives at the same time: (World Health Organization) estimate.
As every year, the World Day of September 10 is an opportunity to participate in the prevention of this scourge.
Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death among 15-19 years olds. In order to stem this phenomeon, World Suicide Prevention Day was created in 2003 on the initiative of the International Association for Suicide Prevenation and the World Health Organization.
Since each September 10 has been an opportunity to take action to raise awereness of this tragic phenomeon, aims to make the general public aware of the extent of the problem and to inform them of the preventive actions within their reach.

  3. Hello,
in our society more and more people are getting in depression, have issues, live in misery, don’t find the sense of life, have rough lives, are bullied and as a « solution » they commit suicide. I think that if a day was created to help fight against suicide it’s because it was needed, indeed this day is a prevention day.
The people who live around suffering people should be made aware about suicide because we can’t even imagine half of the suffering that others are going through. If we pay attention to the different ways of helping others, maybe we might be able to do something to stop this scourge. Every 40 second a suicide has been committed and every 3, an attempt. Every year 800 000 people kill themselves. The figures speak for themselves, most of the victims were alone, despised, misunderstood. Prevention is a necessity.
However, I also believe that there should not be A DAY when you prevent suicide, but all along the year.

  4. Hello,
First of all, suicide is the leading cause of death among 25-34 year olds and one death in a hundred is a suicide. I think it is therefore necessary to dedicate a whole day to this cause. A lots of suicides are the result of bullying. This day is a good way to warn people about the serious consequences of these stupid mockery. It can also lead people to go talking to isolated ones. Moreover, since the beginning of the health crisis people have been feeling more anxious because of the social isolation and the dreadful news. Finally, I find that these day is also a way to show suicidal people that they are not alone and that there is a way out.

  5. Hi,
In my opinion, a day dedicated to suicide prevention is really important but also not enough. Indeed, there's a lot of people who thought about it or even tried and yet, it's still a taboo topic. Not being okay is still widely stigmatised. It's important to show these people they're not alone and that there is aid organisations for them.
Also, the latest suicides statistics from the online article "Samaritans.org" showed that in 2018, in the UK and Republic of Ireland, more than 6,800 people died by suicide. On top of that, the COVID19 crisis made it worse for these people by making them even more anxious.
To conlcude, we know that suicide is preventable and governments can still make better, more ambitious plans to prevent suicide.

  6. Hello,
Take a whole day to focus on a social issue can reach most of people at different times in different places. Suicide can concern anyone of us. I think that a World Prevention Suicide Day can help raise awareness to causes of suicide like nervous breakdown, bullying and burnout that are underestimated. Moreover during this day, people can easier express their unhappiness. At last, this day can also be a good way to pay tribute to victims of suicide.

  7. Hello,
Foremost each year 800 men and 300 women commit suicide, that is to say that there are 3 deaths each days because of it. Southeast Asia is the region most affected by suicide with a rate of 17,7. I think that a day dedicated to supporting people who feel lonely and want to end is very important in order to show them that we are there to help them. They don’t have to be ashamed of feeling bad and they need to ask for help. In my opinion this day will make people aware and teach them how to react if a person is about to end his life. In addition it could make it possible to collect founds in order to create associations for the most alone. Finally during this period of pandemic, lots of people are isolated so it is essential to
to remember to t take care of each other.

  8. Hello,
In my opinion, this prevention suicide day is a really good thing. First of all, it help the people who wants to commit suicide by showing them that there is others solutions, but not only.
This day also shows people how to notice that someone is having suicidal thoughts and how to help him or her. Even with just a small talk.
During this day, people who had suicidal thoughts can tell their stories and how they got out of it. These stories show people how to express themselves and ask for help.
Of course, we must not forget it during the rest of the year.

  9. hello,
yes, a day on the prevention is a good start but i think a day is not enough for that because it is a very important subject.
Suicide is often related to stress or health problems and it concerns all people, young and adults. Moreover many person have suicidal thoughts and have already tried to kill themselves but the attempt failed. And some of them have overcome the suicide and found the joy of the living.
I my opinion we should prevent suicide more to limit this from happening often.

  10. Hello,

Nowadays, suicide has become one of the most common reason of death. Not only poor or developing countries but high-income countries are also facing this problem which has made it a global issue.
So, people's decision to end their lives themselves can be caused by many reasons : academic pressure, stress, loneliness, depression, financial problems ... Plus, pandemic has made it worst by increasing the probability of these suicidal reasons to occur. Therefore, it is necessary to rase awareness against suicide in which " the World Prevention Suicide Day" can play an important role because it leads to discuss about this emergent problem on a specific day. But, it is not at all enough, we need to talk about this more often and need to help people who feel lonely or who are thinking to commit suicide. Moreover, governments equally have to take some more serious actions such as giving financial security to more families, showing this subject on media coverings, etc.
In short, dedicating a whole day to prevent suicide can be beneficial. But, in my opinion, it won't totally solve the problem as the most vulnerable people to suicide need a lot more help than this in order to save their lives.

  11. Indeed, I think it is important to dedicate a whole day to suicide prevention, because there is a lot of suicide, especially in the teenage years where harassment is omnipresent.
The aim of this day is to raise young harassers awareness , for example, in order to limit this. But also to tell fragile or harassed people that help is available to avoid this act of no return.

  12. Hello,
First, I think that suicide is a very important subject which needs to be discussed. I totally think that suicide deserves to have a whole Day dedicated par year.  In effect, a lot of people can need help without us realizing it. This people can seem really happy, while they are, in fact, at the lowest point of their lives. Moreover, we can’t imagine what is happening in people’s private life. I think that people only show us what they want us to see. So all these people, who are not okay, who doesn’t have friends to talk to, who feels alone, they deserve to feel loved and matters during this day. Some people need to be reminded that there is a whole life waiting for them, and that they deserve to be happy. Also, I think this day can help the suicidal people to talk about their troubles. This day also remind the other people to always be nice and caring, cause the tiniest detail can help. Finally, I think that the world suicide prevention day helps and matters.

  13. I think it is a great initiative to dedicate a day to help fight suicide. Indeed, people who want to commit suicide are, most of the time, people who feel lonely, sad, depressed, and like they aren't appreciated. Dedicating a whole day for them is a way to tell them that they are not alone, no matter what they think or what their sadness shows them, there will always be some people to support them. The goal, obviously, is also to raise awareness on this problem that, nowadays, is still present in our society, unfortunately. It is a great way to inform people that taking care of our mental health is really important, but also to take care of people's mental health. Whether it is our neighbor, our classmate, our friend, our brother... everyone has feelings and we should all consider them, respect them, and try not to hurt them. Obviously, there are some hardships in life that make us sad, but sometimes, our sadness is caused by the cruelty of people around us, and I think this is one of the goals of that kind of day : tell these people that their words and actions can have consequences. Life is not a game and should be taken care of.

  14. A whole day is not enought it should be everyday of the week. People these days are getting so stressed by their work, by the rythm of life which is getting faster and faster everyday. People don’t have the time to think about themselves and they need to have moral support to go thru every difficult events that are happening in their lives. We have to help others and take time to talk to others and treat eachothers the right way to make everyone feel good and thankful about being alive.
But it’s already a huge improvement to have one day dedicated to this issue because everyone is going to give a thought about this subject.
Moreover these days teenagers are more concerned about this subject because they are worrying about the future of our planet (global warming) and also due to the pandemic. That’ s why it’s important to remind everyone globally that this issue is really important and we should act.

  15. Hi,

To my opinion a Whole day dedicated to suicide will be a big oportunity for raise people awarness about this public health problem. We know that 9000 people a year commit suicides for various reasons : rapes, bulling at school or professional reasons. This day would be a good way for make it possible to act upstream and give a support for this victims. Moreover they would be able to talk about their problems and have a support to avoid to commit a sucid in their turn. Finally i think a day it’s Not enough because it’s a recurring subject to take seriously and we should talk about it more often.

  16. Hello. I think a whole day should be dedicated to help fight suicide. Indeed, because of family issues, misery, harassment , or other reasons, whiches lead to depression or mental disorders, suicide stay one of the first causes of death all over the world. There is a suicide every 40secondes and for people between the age of 15 and 29, suicide is the second leading cause of death. On average, 800 000 people kill themself each year. This problem concerns everyone. I think, these people need help and support to fight against their dark thought. Even if a day to help fight suicide isn’t enough, it shows to people who need it that they’re not alone in their fight.

  17. Hello

I don't think that a day is enough to talk about sucide we have to talk about it every day to stop this plague. Awareness campaigns should be carried out on this subject. For example the people who are harassing us can help them talk about it and therefore avoid suicide.

  18. Suicide is a big issue all around the globe and suicide rate keeps growing. Unfortunately, we can only blame the social media for spreading the act of commit suicide.
Moreover, the social media doesn’t only introduce suicide to be a less taboo topic but it also helps internet trolls to be quicker in spreading hate online to innocent people which creates a brand new term: cyber bullying. Also, certain types of tv shows tend to romanticize this act by introducing special dramatic effects and music. Indeed, this leads the vulnerable youth to a copycat action to these scenes while the number of suicide rate among teenagers increases. Suicide rate isn’t only a problem of young generations, suicide is also common of all age groups in Asian countries due to work pressure and society pressure because Asian bosses tend to prioritize their work instead of their employees’ mental health, working overtime can be seen as normal everyday therefore life and work is not well balanced. On the other hand the media and the pressure of the society are also involved, the concern of mental health in general has worsen in the last decades among the young generations.
All things considered, the internet doesn’t only communicate hate it also creates deaths among young people. Although a lot of people are aware of mental health and suicide issues, bringing awareness and positivity on their blogs is helpful for people in stressed. A kind word can make someone’s day.
Therefore I think a day which is dedicated to suicide prevention is very relevant to our generation and our society in today’s world because this is a topic still seen as a taboo therefore everyday should be the world suicide prevention day.
