Change the world

In a few months we will have to elect a new president.
Each candidate has his own proposals, his changes to make France a better country.

  • If you had the opportunity, what would you do to change the world?

  1. Hi Esther,
First of all, this would do a great subject of philosophy.
That being said, the problem with what we want to do to change the world is that it is difficult to make it happen. I mean, I would like to stop all wars, make disappear deadly sicknesses and famines ! But that is hardly achievable, even with a lot of power.
However, if I could change some things about our world, I would probably try to make people understand each over. You know, make them talk together so that they can see they aren't that different after all.
And I would try to do something to protect endangered species because well... I love animals, what else can I say ?
To conclude I think big changes are difficult to do but maybe we can help with little ones : give money to associations or just be a litle more concerned about what happens around us.

  2. Hello everyone!

First of all, I do not think that any of the candidates have the power to make things better.
As far as I am concerned, I wish everyone could have access to great education. I do think that every children deserves a chance, and if we want to make the world a better place, we have to help the new generations !
If I had the opportunity, I would allow every children to go to school as long as they want, and to choose the path they want.

  3. Hi Esther !
To begin with, these elections would be hard because of the polemics there were in France. I have may ideas to change the world but I'm not sure I can. I'm not going to be a politic and I'm not old enough.
However, if it was possible for me to change the world, I would probably eradicate wars and maybe religion because they are the origin of many conflicts and wars ( yes it's an utopia ). I also would change people's mind ( racism, homophobia, haters... ) and stop pollution to make the planet better.
The last big idea that I have concerns pandemics and I would like to stop them, to find treatments for each diseases in the world. To finish, I see eye to eye with Coline concerning the animals and therefore we should protect them as they are so important.

  4. Hello !

    - To begin with, we must admit that our world isn't perfect but everyone can do something to improve our living conditions.
It is difficult to anwers at your question Esther but I will try to do my best.
    - Firstly if I had the power to change the world, I would like to eliminate discrimination (racial, gender, age or handicap) because discrimination seems to be the source of many conflict between humans. Secondly, stop all wars in the world because every year lots of innocent died because of their religion, their nationality or their choice. Thirdly, like Coline said I would like to give access to education to all children of our planet, moreover I admire Malala because she's fighting against this kind of injustice. And to finish, the most important thing in the world is THE FREEDOM because everybody have the right to decide by himself and it is just disgusting that nowadays in 2017 some people are denied because of the political aspect in their county. So don't forget that we are lucky to live in France, a great country with many liberties, equalities and fraternities...

  6. I have many convictions and things for whom I would like that that changes. I would like a real equality between men and women, whether it is at the level of salaries, in movies or in them companies but also in mentalities. Every little boy and girl have to believe in itself, a boy in him straight ahead to cry and to play with dolls and a girl in him straight ahead to like cars and to play soccer.
The every woman and every man company should stop stereotypes on the sexes and have to can become emancipated in a egalitarian way. Furthermore I would wish that the adoption for the homosexual couples is not any more something to complicate to make, a homosexual should not be to oblige to hide or it should not be shame to admit to his family its sexual orientation.
I want a real tolerance to the other one, whether it is for its religion, his ethnic group, its sex or its choices, the tolerance is essential for a better world. I would also love that the youth stops being put all the time in competition, we live in a world where the school pressure is very strong. It would be necessary to tell to the young people and to reassure them that later what is important it is to work in something which enjoys us and not to make something because our family finds that pleasing wherever the society imposes it to us. Finally, I think that better France, it is France where every human being respects himself and wishes the happiness of his next one or his former.

  7. This is a very nice question ... I would like to be able to find vaccines against diseases such as cancer or AIDS first, it would be a great relief for everyone! Afterwards I would like to offer like this has been said before a minimum of education to all the children, of any social origin, age ... because it is nevertheless primordiale. I would like to make disappear those who have not evolved and who still practice racism (any kind of racism), homophobia, sexism in both directions, or harassment ... Finally I would also like to stop all wars in all parts of the world, because most of the time it is a matter of ego between different governments, and it is never those who declared war that will fight, not they prefer to send people who must kill each other without real reason!

  8. I 've already thought that I would make something good for our world. First I've imagined a united world without inequalities , violence and racism. I know , it is not really believable because this isn't human's features, but if something can be done , to improve our way of life and make the situation better , I would try it . In fact ,the only thing that we can do is to fight against corruptions ,deseases and wars . Nevertheless, the education must be accessible to all chidren in this planet because the future of our world depends on our generation and the next one .

  9. Hi everyone,
First of all, the quote "you're never too young to change the world" sounds a bit funny as we strongly know that we are not able to fully change the world. However, we can all contribute to make things better just being more tolerant, more respectful towards others but also towards ecology. Indeed, we are just destroying little by little our planet, the ecosystem but also the humanity.
To be honest, I am kind of worried for our future seeing all these terrible things happening.

Well, let's hope that changes will be done (though I am not really convinced about that). I look forward the presidential election, which will reveal who will lead our country for 5 years.

  10. The elections include a lot of debates and the candidates must show if they can manage to convince people. Some of their ideas are good but some of them are also absurd and unrealistic. But could we do better than them?

I don't know enough about the situation of our country to say what should be done or not. I think some people a well qualified to take decisions. It is really hard to take measures that satisfy everyone because we don't all live in the same conditions. We can't change the world, there will always be injustices and differences between people. Nevertheless some problems must be overcome like poverty, war or pollution. But they include that everyone try to do something. Tolerance is also an important theme and it just depends on how we behave. If people could look behind the little differences and try to accept the ones who are not like them, it would be a great change. School should also be leaning to this a acceptance of other people because it is where the future inhabitants of the country are taught how to behave and how to think.

I don't judge myself qualified enough to say what should be done but to my mind some problems are related to people's behavior and it's our duty to resolve them.

  11. I share the same point of view as Fanny!
If I had the opportunity to change the world, I would like that all people to be equal. Because, even though all human beings are equal before the law, everyday that is not true. Thus, women don't have the same salary as men. Besides, a typified man or a woman will have less luck to be hired as a white man. Similary color man will have more luck of being arrested by the police as a white man. Equality is a big problem in our society. For example, homosexuel obtained the right to get married not a long time ago...
I think for a better world, everybody should be able to do what they want, when they want and where they want because we are every equals when we are born.

  12. If I had the opportunity to change the world, I would do so many thinks.
I would firstly try to make the world a more equal place, as much as a more peaceful one. First of all, equality between men and women, then equality between the have-nots, rich people, white, black and so on. Equality, to my mind, is the basis of humanity. We are all born in the same world so let's share it properly. But it would also cover equality between any living being, that is to say animals. Animals are to be respected and treated as well as humans. We know very well now that anmals are not inferior to us, so let's act accordingly.

Of course, this will probably never happen when seeing how many people still are poaching illegaly animals for instance. But even if at first, our hope to change the world is utopian, we should remember that willingness is the strength.

  13. On one hand, this is a difficult question to answer because changing the world isn't something only one person can do in one day, not only does it require a lot of time but it also requires a worldwide contribution. I also think little things can go a long way, for example by buying cruelty-free and environment safe products you can help create a better place.
On the other hand, if I had the opportunity to change the world, I would start by erasing all inequalities, from gender inequalities to social inequalities. I would also diminish poverty around the world allowing everyone to have access to water, education, and a home. Furthermore, I would want to stop pollution and global warming in order to save the environment and wildlife, which I think is crucial if we want our planet to survive. Next, I would establish peace thereby eliminating wars, terror attacks and all forms of discrimination. Last but not least I would give everyone the right to have medical care which is to my mind very important in poor countries like South Africa.
All in all, I hope everybody takes matters into their own hands to make this world a better place.

  14. Hello,
If I had the opportunity to change the world, I would give the access to a good education to all children in the world. Then, I would stop pollution because our planet is in danger. I would also stop wars and make people equal. However, that's sounds impossible, I think we all can contribute to make the world better.
Indeed, we have to be more tolerant, accept and help all people even if they are diffent.
To put all in a nutshell, changing the world is diffuclult but we can hope that things will get better because I am a bit worried about our future !

  15. Hello ?!
If I could change one thing in the world, first I would try to reduce inequalities, I don't understand the fact that some people are suffering from poverty and I don't understand either that basic human needs (water, food, shelter and sleep) are not fulfilled.
Up to a certain point, each person should be given the opportunity to have a decent life.

  16. Hi,
I will apply a liberal and progressive protectionist agenda while retaining certain existing measures and trying to preserve the history and values of France. I could then develop the importance of France internationally and use diplomacy as well as economic and military power to make the world better.
But as Eve, for the moment I'm a bit worried about our future with the next presidential election...

  17. Hello,
First of all, it's a difficult question because the world isn't perfect but if everyone do something maybe the world could be better.
If I had the opportunity to change the world I would like to stop all the discriminations, we are all differents but equals. Moreover I would like to stop pollution because our planet is in danger and we have to protect it for the next generation.
To conclude, I would like to live in a world in peace, I know it's impossible but I hope that everybody can contribute to make the world a little bit better.

  18. Hello everyone,
If I could change the world, I would, in priority, make sure everybody could get a job, whatever it is. As a matter of fact it could reduce poverty and idleness. And then, it could certainly reduce violence between people.
Moreover, I would make sure there are no discrimination towards women and coloured people because equality must be a worldwide value.
Finally, everybody must have access to education to get qualified in order to be able to apply for a job.
To conclude, I would mostly do what I promised because to many politicians make promises and once they are elected, they never apply them.

  19. Hello everyone,
I think that the main problem in our actual society is inequalities, in fact, France has never been that rich in 2017 but has never had that much inequalities in its territory. There is some very rich people that spend their money of hudge society which products polluting products which kill million of people and very poor people that live in the street and eat one a week. I think that it's distgusting. Also, discrmination should be stoped, in every ways, because it is unbelivable that in 2017 some people are rejected from a group because they are homosexual, black, jewish ...

  20. Hi everyone,
To my mind, the biggest issue is the Famine. For instance, people in Somalia are starving, while we waste food every day. It is a bigger problem than unemployment, or gender inequality at work... If I could change the world, I would make sure that each person has enough to eat. Then, I think every child should have access to education, because every child deserves a chance. Morever, we have to do something for our planet. We are destroying it just to make more and more money. Pollution is a big issue and we have to find a solution. Finally, I wish we could live in peace. I would do something to stop wars and discriminations.

  21. Hello everyone,
    the election is over now but the question is still significant so I want to express myself about this subject;
If I had the chance to change something in the world, I wouldn’t maybe be able to change it. Firstly I couldn’t make something where I am not sure that it is in agreement with the biggest part of the population and that it is legitimate in the name of the civil rights for the whole world. Our world is maybe not perfect, but there is a lot of good stuff. Also it is so much complicated, so in thinking doing the right, I could do the opposite of what I wanted and destroy the good part of our world.
As simply understanding example (not really realistic): If I could, I would stop all the wars and pain in the world, help that all humans who have worked a long time for the future of us, and that they get all help needed until the end of their life.
This is a really nice plan and what in my mind I would immediately do. But now looking over the edge, first at all the life expectations will dramatic grow up and the population too.
We will be, like we are maybe even yet, to many humans. This is why, with our consume life style as modern humans, the resources will not be sufficient.
Now, in the moral term, because when I push through that what I want to realize, I put my ideas of progress over yours. I’m convinced that I couldn’t give up this power once when I received it. So I would destroy the democracy and the reason of existence of each one of us.
I hope what I would do is giving up this power or maybe hand it over to the population and follow their decision. We would all discuss about our future, because with our united experience and culture we are able to find the nearly perfect solution.
It signifies that I will strengthen a true democracy system. This democracy will have incontestable human rights as foundation, which wood be untouchables. This system will stay above all the other systems who could be imaginable. It doesn’t mean that it won’t exist other systems, because they can coexist.
Finally in our world the democracy shouldn’t be for one country, but for the all humans:
“one for all, all for one”.
