Hello everyone ! Today I would like to share with you what I think about the novel "Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde". First of all ,I have already read it (in French) when I was in middle school and I liked the story. It's a short book, very simple but effective. Even if it's not a big book it's an interesting fantastic one and a classic. For me it's a "must read". Besides, in middle school, I also read another book of Robert Louis Stevenson : Treasure Island that I have appreciated a lot ,with fantastic elements and an impressive writing frome the author. That's why I liked read "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" because I loved the fantastic side of it and how the author makes evolve the main characters in the story. Susie 1ES1 (135 words)
Hello everybody, I will talk about the book "Dr Jekyll and mr hyde." Read in English is very useful to improve our vocabulary and langage. The book was interesting ! To my mind, first, it demonstrate the dangerousness of sciences. Indeed, the doctor Jekyll uncontrolled his experience and it would lead to his death. Sciences can be dangerous when you don't know exactly what you do and what can be the effect of your acts. Then, it permit to show the important of the dialogue with friends and family because the lawyer called Mr Utterson had to wait to the end of the history to know what happened with his friends, the doctor Jekyll because he refused to tell the true to his friend. To finish, it permit to show prejudices that we can have to a person because of his appearance. Certainly, Mr Hyde was a dangerous man but people thought directly to a bad man when they see him, they don't hope anything... In this case, it was correct to think that he was a bad man but sometimes it can be false. Finally, this book was quite easy to read a understand it. I think it help me to learn vocabulary and English syntaxs. Théo P. 1eS5
Hello everyone! In my last post I made mistakes it's not "frome" but "from" and not Treasure Island but "Teasure Island". Sorry for mistakes, goodbye !
Hi everyone! First of all, I've read " Doctor Jekyll and mister Hyde " last year. It was my favorite school book. Indeed, I've had already heard about this story but it was a great idea to read it in his original language. Besides, I love the story, there're suspense, fear, love and power. Mister Hyde becomes stronger and stronger although Jekyll tries to stop him. This story about double personality is very interesting because we all have two personalities and the stronger dominates the weak, this is always the truth in the society.
Finally, Dr.Jekyll and M.Hyde has been the most interesting book I've ever read. If I had an advise, it would be to get into the story at the beginning and to read it several times in order to study Human beings. Lena S TS2
To begin with, I’d like to precise that I read “Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hide” when I was in 1ereS and I found it at first really strange because, even if I’d already heard about the story, the end choked me. However, even if this book was at some points not really reassuring, I liked the scientific aspect of it and the way human nature is represented. Indeed, as it is said in it, every Man has two sides to its personality, generally one better than the other, and this theory had been verified during psychological experiences on human behaviours and especially on bipolar people because they are clearly showing their both personalities. Moreover, I really enjoyed the suspense, which is very present in “Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hide” and the way Stevenson used science-fiction to build his characters.
So, to cut a long story short, this book was interesting to read because full of suspense and innovations. Indeed, the author had to find the idea of creating a mixture to change your physical appearance and your mental behaviour !
hello everbody, first of all, just like Lena, I've read this book last year and I found it really interesting because of the personality's duality of everyone. Not wholly for the case of "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" but, we all have two sides of ourselves, and one is better than the other. everyone has a side that think about itself first, instead of thinking about the others first and we are balanced between both of the two sides.
furthermore, I personally think that we should do like a "fifty-fifty" between this sides because we can not always put other people before us, and we also can not think about ourselves first in every situation.
to put it all in a nutshell, for our own welfare we have to think about our happiness first, and eventually we change our mind if our decision has negative consequences on other people and we can make compromises.
Hey you all ! I've read the book Dr. Jekyll and M. Hyde and this book is one of the most gripping and fascinating books I have ever read. It is such a riveting thriller, that it is impossible to stop reading it even though the book is short. There are two main ideas in the story. Firstly, the battle of good versus evil. We see in the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde how he struggles to keep balance between both sides of himself. Secondly, it is about taking science too far and if we can control scientific research. He is a bit like an early version of the Incredible Hulk. This was a brilliant mystery, with interesting descriptions of London at the time. The illustrations are very good, creepy and dramatic. To end with, i will recommend this book to everyone who like the kind of fantastic stories and also to people who want to learn english because it is very easy to understand. Cindy 1 ES 1
Hello everybody, I would like to share with you today my opinion concerning the novel "Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde". First of all, I have already heard this tittle in a serie but I can't remember which one it was. Then, the summary intrigued me very much, I was impatient to discover all the secrets that hide the character of Dr Jekyll and I wondered who was Mr Hyde and what he really wanted. Morover, this is a very well written book, with descriptive and powerful language. The characters and their feelings are described perfectly, the way Mr Hyde was described makes people feel so uncomfortable just by looking at him. As a result, this was a brilliant mystery and I would recommend this book to everyone! Sonia 1ereES3
I red Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde last year and I really appreciated it. In fact I think this is a very interresting book which introduces us to the idea on consciousness and unconsciousness.
Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde is a short novel written by Robert Louis Stevenson published in 1886 in Great Britain. It's the story of Mr Utterson, a notary, who investigates on the strange link between Mr Hyde and Mr Jekyll. Henry Jekyll is a scientific who creates a drug to seperate the two sides of his personality in two different bodies. However, when he drinks the potion, he becomes Edward Hyde who is a criminel and an evil being. Mr Hyde is the negative side of Mr Jekyll and this one takes over. I'm going to tell you my point of view about this book.
First of all, I have never read a whole book in English so I thought that I would never understand the story. But actually, I didn't have any problems to read it or maybe I had some difficulties with the vocabulary. Besides, it's not a very large book so I could read it in a short time.
Furthermore, I am normally not very fond of sience-fiction or thrillers, so I was not very interested at first. In spite of that, the plot was good so I was really curious to know the end of the story.
What interested me most is the « the lesson of life » of the story : everybody wants to become someone else once in his life but we are what we are and if we become another person our first personnality doesn't exist anymore. Besides, it's impossible to become another person, it only exists in fiction. (257 words) CASSANDRE M. 1S5
Hi everyone, I would like to say that I enjoyed the book Dr Jekyll and mr hyde that I read in french, and in English. Sadly I don’t keep a good experience of my reading in English because it was a simplfied version especially made for student which didn’t developed enough the characters and made the dialogues stupid and unlikely. However, I really like the story, and i appreciated the way they told us because we don’t really know what is happening to Dr Jekyll until the end, it let the reader guess the end by himself and make different hypothesis which will change according what’s happend in the story. Morover, the principal plot is interesting, and asks many questions first about the different faces of a person. Indeed, a person is not define by just one personnality trait but has different faces which are put foward according to the person or group or person we are with. And then about how the evolution of the science can be dangerous. In a spirit a good will Dr Jekyll wanted to materialize one face of his personality but he just created an evil monster who enjoyed hurting people and who brought sadness to dr jekyll. Even if the experience of dr jekyll isn’t possible in real life, it makes us think about the evolution of science in the real world and if it is going to far.
Hi everyone, i would like to talk you about the novel "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde". I really appreciate this book because it's a good story with a moral. Furthermore, the history keep the suspens and give desire to finish her: we don't know, until end, what is happening to Dr Jekyll. I find this idea of suspens interesting. This book is a classic and i think it's "an unmissable". If someone didn't read it, i advise him this history, because it's a short story with stranges characters and a good subject.
Hello everyone, I'm writing today to talk about a really interesting book: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. First, the author of this book is Robert Louis Stevenson, a famous writer known for: Pieces of Eight... But we are not here to talk about his novels but his novel: Dr. jekyll and Mr Hyde. This book is fascinating, mesmerizing but also very intelligent. I will not spoil you but I can tell you that you will face multiple twists and an end as sad as mastered. In addition, this book is short and easy to read. To conclude, I have only two words to say to you: Read it. (107 words)

Hello everybody, I writing you because i made mistakes in my text. It's not history but story, it's not finish her but finish it . And belong take a "s" and suspens take a "e": suspense, belongs
Hi everyone, To begin with, like Lena and Garance said, we have read « Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde » last year. I really enjoyed reading that book because the story was interesting and I wanted to know how it would end. Indeed, the story underlines that every person has two sides and, as Hyde becomes stronger, his feelings of hate and jealousy towards Jekyll grow greater and at the end he takes control of him ! Moreover, the book reflects a reality : usually, humans have two sides in their personality, one is stronger that the other and sometimes tries to take control. Eve H TS2
Hello everybody, I just want to correct a few mistakes :
To begin with, I’d like to precise that I read “Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hide” when I was in 1ereS and I found it at first really strange because, even if I’d already heard about the story, the end shoked me. However, even if this book was at some points not really reassuring, I liked the scientific aspect of it and the way human nature is represented. Moreover, I really enjoyed the suspense, which is very present in “Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hide” and the way Stevenson used science-fiction to build his characters.
So, to cut a long story short, this book was interesting to read because full of suspense and innovations. Indeed, the author had to find the idea of creating a mixture to change your physical appearance and your mental behaviour !
First of all, I read Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde last year, just like Lena, Hana, and Garance. Even if I read it one year ago, I feel like I am able to remember almost everything! The characters, the places, the awful actions of Mr. Hyde... It's thrilling, and the rhythm is so fast that we barely have any time to breathe! (And although the time has passed, I still think that "Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde" is the perfect Halloween costume !)
On the other hand, the story has a deeper meaning. Furthermore, I think we can all have our own interpretation! As far as I am concerned, I love the idea that we all have different "personalities" in us. This year, I also realized that the story could be linked to the notion "idea of progress". Science can indeed lead to progress, but we have to be careful. The new drug the doctor invented highlights the possibility of a "bad" or a "negative" progress!
To put it all in a nutshell, Stevenson used a disturbing horror story and outstanding characters to teach us a lesson about human nature
Hi everyone! I read Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde last year and I really liked this book. First of all I find the history very interesting, we always want to discover what exactly happened in this book, we want to clear up the mystery. Moreover, the story becomes more and more interesting as Mr. Hyde becomes stronger and unstoppable. This book is full of suspense and that makes it a very good book.
- To begin with, I read Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde written by Robert Louis Stevenson, last year with my class and I really appreciated it. - It is the story of a strange doctor who transformed herself in Mr.Hyde, an other man. Moreover this book underlines that every person has two sides of his personnality and my favourite part of the book was the chapter nine "Doctor Jekyll's confession" when we can discover the mistery... - Finally, I recommend this book to everyone because the plot is fantastic !
Hello everybody! First of all, I read Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde last year and it was like Lena my favorite school book. I really like the story with all the suspense we always wanted to know the end . Moreover, during this holidays, I have a work in philosophy about this book, I have to find the link between the book and Freud's theory about unconscious. To finish,I think this book is a classic and we have to read it. Alyson Bernardini
Hi everyone, I would like to talk about the book that we had to read in my English class. It is called "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”, written by Robert Louis Stevenson. First of all it’s the story about a man Dr. Jekyll who faces horrible consequences when he lets his dark side run wild with a potion. This magical potion, that he created, transforms him into the animalistic Mr. Hyde. Mr. Utterson, his lawyer and also friend, tries to help him. In my opinion this is an interesting and thrilling book. Moreover, I think that the author wants to show us that a man has a good and an evil side and that sometimes we can’t fight against what we are. According to me, Robert Stevenson also wants to prevent the danger of experimenting science. What I liked about this book is that we couldn’t guess what that mysterious character was hiding until the end. I didn’t had any problems to read it and I totally recommend it to students.
I read the book "dr jekyll and mr hyde" last year. I really loved this book for many reasons, even if I don't like reading.
First of all, the book is very short and easy to read so it is a pleasure to read it. Morever, the story is really captivating and full of suspense. We want to read more and more to know what happen to the characters. Finally, each person can have its own interpretation, but I personally think that we all have "two sides" of us, one good side and one dark side !
To conclude, this book is very interesting and it offers us the opportunity to think about the idea of progress: the consequences of scientific progress.
Hi everyone, have you past good hollidays ? Today, I would like to share with you my feelings after the reading of the book written by R.L.Stevenson «Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde». On the one hand, I've already read this book but in French and I found him totally gripping, the plot is really great especially the fact that the main character lead a double life: the good docteur the day and the evil man who give in to his death wish the night. It's trully a interesting book who deserve to be read, moreover it's a short enough book. On the other hand, I've past a lot of time on the reading of the book because I found the words too complicated, as for me, but the positif side is that this make me enable to enrich my vocabulary so it's cool. 141 words, Marcia, 1ES1
Hello everybody! I want to share with you my opinion on this book I read. First, I enjoyed the fact of reading a book in english. In effect, it allows us to improve our english.
On the one hand, I liked the type of story of Dr Jekyll and Mister Hyde. Indeed, I love detective stories. Moreover, the suspense all along the story and the mysterious Mr Hyde pleased me. I was interested and impatient to know the end.
On the other hand, I really enjoyed the different characters. Effectively, the characters are like stereotypes. It was easy to imagine and see the appearance of the characters.
However, I hate fantastic stories. Because of that, I do not like the end of this book. Indeed, I found this end quite simple and predictable.
To conclude, I like this book in general, and the fact of this story was an investigation
Hi everyone ! I want to talk about "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde", a book written by Robert Louis Stevenson. To begin, it's the first time I have to read a book in order to work on it with my English class, and I think it's a good way to learn vocabulary and improve our english. To continue, the story talks about a man named Mr Utterson who investigates about the link between his friend Dr Jekyll and an evil man named Mr Hyde. He discovers that Dr Jekyll made a drug that can separate the two sides of his personnality into two different bodies. However, the evil part soon became uncontrollable and made Dr Jekyll do horrible things. To my mind, I think "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" is a good story, as I like thrillers. I wondered the whole time who this Mr Hyde could be, and why Dr Jekyll wanted to protect him. But in another way, I disliked the end. I believe that it was too fantastic and not realistic at all, also it destroys the investigation part as it becomes too fictional. To conclude I enjoyed reading this book even if the end was not the one I hoped
Hi everyone The last month i have read "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" my first book in english. Thought i put one month to read this book and understand the whole story i loved reading it because his story is unique of its kind and that the author has succeeded at us make live the emotions of it's character. During my reading of the book i was impatient to discover all the secrets that hide the character of Dr Jekyll and when the bad side of Dr Jekyll went to take over. That's why that i loved reading this book of Robert Louis Stevenson who manages to pass a message throught these few lines.
Hi everybody! We read a book few weeks ago and I would like to share my opinion with you guys.
I really liked this book because, from my opinion, it is very relevant by his modernity and the psycological aspect. Moreover, as it is built like a thriller, it is really excitting to read. The psycological aspect is very interesting because we all have two sides, we all have in our mind, a small devil and sure that everyone will agree with me. In addition, the modernity is amazing! Today, in many books and movies, we can se these double characters like in new movie "Split" witch discribes schizophreny. By the way I strongly recommend to you all to watch it.
To conclude, I really enjoyed reading this book. It was at the same time strange, frightening and exciting!
Hi everyone, I will share my opinion about Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde with you. To my mind, i think it's a good book, there is a lot of suspense, there is a killer with two sides but I didn't like read this book, because I found it weird. I didn't really like the story. Alicia V. 1ES3

However, I had lot of troubles to read in english so I take lot of time to understand what I read. I think in the future, I will read more in english to enrich my vocubalary in this language. Hey everyone! Just like all of you, I took great pleasure in reading the book "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" by Robert Louis Stevenson. This book had been recommended to me by several people, and the least I can say is I haven't regretted one bit reading it myself. Why is that? First of all because I'm a great fan of science-fiction and the book is a must if you like this genre : it deals with a doctor who came up with a drug that can separate one's personality in two different bodies, one receiving the "good" side and the other the "evil" one. Furthermore, the story is written in such a way that it keeps the reader hooked until the end, and what an end it is! Lastly, the reason this book became so iconic in my opinion is because it has such a wide reach. Indeed, it deals with many notions such as the ugly side of science as well as the good and the evil in men and how they balance their two sides. In this way, the book even has a philosophical significance since it somehow symbolizes Freud's theory of the Unconscious Mind.
Hi everyone, I would like to talk about the book " Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" and give you my opinion about the famous story of Robert Louis Stevenson. First of all, I can say that I really enjoyed reading this book because there was a lot of suspense and the end was very surprising because I really didn't expect to read this shocking end even though the story was weird because it's not everyday that we have the chance to read a book with such imagination but still it was interesting. My favorite moment from the book was when Mr Utterson discovered who Mr. Hyde because even after this I wanted to have a longer story. For me the most incredible character was Poole, he was so faithful to everyone and this is an awesome quality. Mélissa B. (Yvonne) 1ES1

Hi everyone, I would like to talk about the book "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" and give you my opinion about the famous story of Robert Louis Stevenson.
First, this story is very interesting and attractive because there are many new developments and mysterious actions. All the characters are different, unique and have a precise role in this book. Effectively, the characters are like stereotypes. It was easy to imagine and see the appearance of the characters. This book is turned as a thriller, a police series and Mr Utterson represents the inspector. During my reading of the book, I was impatient to discover all the secrets that hide the character of Dr Jekyll and when the bad side of Dr Jekyll went to take over.
To conclude, I recommend you to read it, if it is not made yet.
I would like to talk about the book "Dr Jekyll dans Mr Hyde" and give you my opinion. First of all i find this book very interesting because it is different from all the other books I have read. Indeed the mystery is the most important point I think about this book. For answers to our questions we must always read. I find it very good not to get out of the story. Then I find the characters all different from each other. the two parts of the personality of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde are strange and different at the same time. I enjoyed discovering this book filled with mystery but I do not think I read it again because I find the story too weird and complicated at first glance.
Hi everyone, First of all, "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" is a book easy to read , it is a short story but interesting through different points. In fact , even the title is attractive and makes us want to read it . One of the most important point is the mystery, as everyboby already said because it encourage the reader to keep the train of the story . Therefore, the characters are very fascinating : on one hand we have Dr Jekyll which readers can identify and on the other hand , Mr Hyde is a complex character which cannot have an identification to the real world but which is link to the reality through Dr Jekyll. The last but not least, thrillers are always the best stories and this one mixed mystery, actions and supernatural so it outperform all of the other books that we've read in class.

Hi everyone, I would like to talk about what I thought of the book "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde". So as we all know, the book relate the story of DrJekyll who create after an experiment Mr Hyde, his evil side. I found the book really interesting because the author recount how the good side and bad side of each are constantly fighting trying to take control on are actions, on who we are. I also really appreciate the story itself, I found it really innovative and full of mystery which I like recover in a book of science fiction.

I’m going to talk about the book Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. I found this book very interesting, it looks like a police story. I liked very much the story because there are many mysteries. Robert Louis Stevenson had a lot of imagination to write this book. This story was very attractive because he talks about the good and the evil side of a man using the fantastic and science. Moreover he also used the supernatural. In my opinion this book is neither too hard or too easy. To conclued I really liked reading this book.

Hello everybody, I will talk about the book "Dr Jekyll and mr hyde."
ReplyDeleteRead in English is very useful to improve our vocabulary and langage.

ReplyDeleteHi everyone!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I've read " Doctor Jekyll and mister Hyde " last year.

Hello everybody,
ReplyDeleteTo begin with, I’d like to precise that I read “Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hide” when I was in 1ereS and I found it at first really strange because, even if I’d already heard about the story, the end choked me.
Indeed, the author had to find the idea of creating a mixture to change your physical appearance and your mental behaviour !

hello everbody,
ReplyDeletefirst of all, just like Lena, I've read this book last year and I found it really interesting because of the personality's duality of everyone.
ReplyDeleteI've read the book Dr.

Hello everybody,
ReplyDeleteI would like to share with you today my opinion concerning the novel "Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde".

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I have never read a whole book in English so I thought that I would never understand the story.

DeleteHi everyone, I would like to say that I enjoyed the book Dr Jekyll and mr hyde that I read in french, and in English.

ReplyDeleteThis book is a classic and i think it's "an unmissable". If someone didn't read it, i advise him this history, because it's a short story with stranges characters and a good subject.

(107 words)

Hi everyone,
ReplyDeleteTo begin with, like Lena and Garance said, we have read « Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde » last year.

Hello everybody, I just want to correct a few mistakes :
ReplyDeleteTo begin with, I’d like to precise that I read “Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hide” when I was in 1ereS and I found it at first really strange because, even if I’d already heard about the story, the end shoked me. However, even if this book was at some points not really reassuring, I liked the scientific aspect of it and the way human nature is represented.
Indeed, as it is said in it, every Man has two sides to his personality, generally one better than the other, and this theory had been verified during psychological experiences on human behaviours and especially on bipolar people because they are clearly showing both personalities.

Hi !
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I read Dr.

Hi everyone,
ReplyDeleteI would like to talk about the book that we had to read in my English class.

ReplyDeleteToday, I would like to share with you my feelings after the reading of the book written by R.L.Stevenson «Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde».

ReplyDeleteI want to talk about "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde", a book written by Robert Louis Stevenson.

ReplyDeleteJust like all of you, I took great pleasure in reading the book "Dr.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" is a book easy to read , it is a short story but interesting through different points.
