On the one hand, Janice Hally is an author and scriptwriter who studyed drama and english literature in Hillhead High School and Glasgow University. She's scottish but she used to live in France. She has written fiction and non-fiction books .Her latest book, published by French publisher Hachette, is Ask No Questions, is a psychological mystery and the follow-up to Distant Echo featuring French psychologist Alexandre Lelong.
On the other hand, as saying higher, her latest book is Ask No Question, a psychological mystery. As I'm concerned, I found this book really interesting and captivating. It's in a real plot that we are dive and which one the book respond with as many unexpected development as possible. Even if the book was more complicated than Dr Jekill and Mr Hyde, he have something more gripping than the latest book. We have said in class that to have emotions, we have to identify yourself to one of the characters of the story; and personally I identify myself to Alexandre Lelong because he's already ready to come to the aid of someone, do what he think good and follow his premonitions; as I would like to become.
First, I think reading a book in english is very interesting, and even more when the story is enjoyable. From my point of view, I liked "ask no questions" as it is full of suspense : the reader always wonders if Dr Lelong will prove Rob's innocence. The story is not only about investigations and law stuff, but also about psychology. The love story and the betrayal of Kathy makes the book more attractive, for Alex will feel different emotions. To continue, I didn't know Janice Hally, but apparently she wrote lots of books. She is a playwright and TV screenrighter, and she is Scottish. When she was young she studied drama and litterature at Glasgow University. To conclude "ask no question" is the book I prefered to study, and I enjoyed reading this story.
Hello everyone! First of all, this book is written by Janice Hally (I did not know her before reading her book). I made some researchs about her to know how she wrote this book. Indeed I learnd a lot of things. For example, she grew up in Glasgow, England she also wrote another novel called "Distant Echo". Maybe I will read it because it is a thriller and I love that. On the one hand in class we talked about how our feelings can betray us when we are lying. On the other hand, we also talked about "Places and Forms of power" like the power of the money and the power of the media in this story. Moroever, there are other notions that we talked about like "Ideas of Progress " with Campbell and Lelong IQ. As far as I'm concerned this book is easier to read than "Dr Jekyll and M.Hyde" but more difficult to understand. Thank's for reading ! Susie 1es1 (153 words)
Hello everybody, "ask no questions", written by Janice Hally is the second book we've read in class. On the one hand, Janice Hally is a scottish screenwriter who lived now in France. She has also written different books like "Ask no questions" that we studied in class, or "Distant echo". When she was young, she studied at the Glasgow University, especially to study litterature and drama. On the other hand, I found this book very interesting, and modern. For me, it was easier to read this one than "Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" that I found more difficult because of the style in which it was written and because of the stroy that I found less interesting. Moreover, the fact that the main character of this book, Alexandre Lelong is French allows us to be close with him, because we share something in common. Finally, I liked the scientific and psychological sides of this book. It reminds me a serie that i watched "Lie to me". The both are about psychology and how we can detect human emotions. To conclude, I've really enjoyed "ask no questions", thanks to the modern story it is about, and because it was captivating, with a lot of suspense. Ally, 1ES3
To begin with, Harper Lee was born on April 1926 in Monroeville in Alabama and she died on February 2016. In her life, she wrote two books : "to kill a mocking bird" and "Go set a watchman". She earned the Pulitzer Prize and the Nobel Prise with the book "to kill a mocking bird".
Moreover, I think that it's a good thing to read a book in english. For my part, it was the first year that an english professor told me to read a book wrote in english. I found "to kill a mockingbird" interesting but I prefer "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde".
To conclude, Harper Lee's book became a classic in the american litterature. I think this book is important because after read it, people can share their opinion about the segregation and the discrimination. In my opinion, the segregation and the discimination are just two horrible things, even inhuman. Tanks you for reading, bye
Hi everyone, I made some mistakes in my text. It's not "to kill a mocking bird" but "To Kill a Mockingbird"; not "Nobel prise" but "Nobel prize"; the word english take a large letter. It isn't "wrote" but "written"; not "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" but "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde". The words "american" and "litterature" take a large letter. And "tanks" take a "h": thanks.
Hey guys ! First, "Ask no questions" is a book written by Janice Hally. In my opinion, I really liked reading it because I found the story very interesting and surprising. I was carried throughout it thanks to the author's writing style, both new and adherent. Also, I found the characters very endearing, Janice Hally knew how to make us feel comtempt for Kathy. Then, I'd like to point out that the end of the story incredible because I couldn't imagine that it would be real... But I can't spoil...
Morover, I don't really know this author but after doing my researchs, I would like to share to you some facts about Janice Hally : she studied litterature and drama at the Glasgow University, she wrote many books like "Distant Echo", and also she is from Scotland but she lives now in France.
In conclusion, it's the best book I read this year and as Romane said, the story's modernity makes the book really interesting.
Hello First of all, I would like to talk about the author of the book Janice Hally, who is a Scottish playwright and screenwriter who has written more than 300 hours of British soap operas in prime time and individual screenplays. . Janice Hally was born in Glasgow and studied at Hillhead High School and the University of Glasgow where she studied theater and English literature. Her latest book, is "Ask No Questions" (November 2011) the follow-up to her psychological mystery "Distant Echo" (June 2010). On the other hand, I find that his book was very interesting and mysterious. From the beginning of the first pages we are captivated and there is a lot of suspense. There are several characters in this book like Alexander Lelong who is a lie detector, Kathy his ex-wife, Cumbel the husband of Kathy who is arrested for stealing and Cavin who advocates it. Finally, this book was the best I could read in English. Sheila, 1ES1
This year, we studied a novel written by Harper Lee published in 1960: To Kill a Mockingbird. I'm going to tell you my opinions about this book and what I learned about the author.
First, I found that this book was very hard to read mainly because of the vocabulary used. Nevertheless, this book anables to learn a lot of things about many subjets of America History but especially about discriminations and inegualities in USA during the period of the Great Depression. And I consider that we have to know particulary those subjets which still persist nowadays. Thereby it was very interesting. For example, the discriminations represented in the book are against black people with the Tom Robinson's trial and poor people with the fact that aunt Alexandra forbid Scout to mix herself with poor people like Walter Cunningham. Besides, we follow the story throughout Scout's eyes. She is a little american girl and a stubborn tomboy and she offers to the readers her vision of the events. This kind of narration brings a humoristic touch which I appreciate. The author of the book is Harper Lee. She was born in Monroeville, Alabama in 1926 as Nelle Harper Lee and she died in 2016. After school, she studied law course at the university of Alabama and she stopped it to be a writer. She wrote To Kill a Mockingbird in 1960 during Civil Rights Movement in the late 1950s and she wanted to show in her book that racism was unfair. We can suppose that she is actually Scout Finch (the narrator of the story) because there is a lot of common points with her life like for example her father was a lawyer, as Atticus. Her novel wins Pulitzer Prize in 1961 and she was honour of the Presidential Medal of Freedom by the president George W. Bush for her litterature contribution.
Finally, I found this book very interesting and pleasant to read even if it was difficult. Besides, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is a classic of American litterature and it had been sold about forty million times.

On the other hand, Ask no questions has me allowed to develop my vision of things on the English literature, me re-knows that in the first reading of this book I was lost enough, I panicked at the idea of not understanding(including) why the reading of this book seemed to me so difficult. Then under the advice my English professor, I reviewed this book more attentively and my perspective) of things to be changed at once. The book seemed to me more clear, interesting and fascinating! Indeed, to review a book allows to notice details that previously was unknown us. This book is captivating and reveals the role of each. The character of Katy Campbell made remind me that it is always necessary to be wary of the wolf, which sleeps! I liked a lot Lelong doctor's role, a man who in chosen psychologist’s job for society’s interest.
« Ask no questions » is a book written by Janice Hally. It talk about Alexander Lelon, a psychologist who can tell if someone is liying or no by reading their facial micro-expression, who has to prove that Robert campbell, accused of leaking secret information to an internet site is not guilty. As far as I am concerned, this book is my favourite of all the one I read in my English class. Indeed, unless the others, the dialogues are very good and the story is entertaining with enough suspense to make us want to know the end. The characters are interesting, not only because they are very intelligent and have rare talents, but also because they are no manichean which means that they are no only good or bad. We can explain this realistic dialogues and characters by the fact that Janice Hally, a Scottish born in 1959 who studied drama and English literature at Glasgow university, has written more than three hundred broadcast hours of prime-time British television and was the screenwritter of the tv show Machair. She perfectly know how to write a good story.
Hello! This year, we studied in class a book “To Kill a Mockingbird” written by Harper Lee.
First, Harper Lee was born on April 28, 1926, the youngest of four children of Amasa Coleman Lee and Frances Cunningham Finch Lee. She grew up in Monroeville, a small town in southwest Alabama. Her father was a lawyer who also served in the state legislature from 1926–1938. As a child, Lee was a tomboy (like Scout in the novel). After she attended public school in Monroeville she attended Huntingdon College, a private school for women in Montgomery for a year and then transferred to the University of Alabama. After graduation, Lee studied at Oxford University. She returned to the University of Alabama to study law but withdrew six months before graduation. Lee died in 2016 at the age of 89. Moreover, “To Kill a Mockingbird” instantly became a best seller internationally and was also adapted into a film in 1962. A year after the novel was published, 500 000 copies had been sold and it had been translated into 10 languages. Harper Lee had many childhood experiences that are similar to those of her young narrator in his novel, Scout Finch: she grew up in the 1930s in a rural southern Alabama town, her father, Amasa Lee, was a lawyer like Atticus Finch and finally her older brother and young neighbor (Truman Capote) are playmates.
To conclude I've really enjoyed this book even if there are lot of difficult vocabulary.
