If you were a black person during the period of segregation in South Africa, would you have let the white government treat you like how blacks were treated or would you have militated like Biko ? Justify your answer.
First of all , biko was a black activist from South Africa and a figure in the anti-apartheid struggle. If I was at the period of segregation in South Africa I would also be against this racism. We should have liberty and equality and not privileged a group to another just because they are black. We are all the same and we must have the same rights and owe. Nouha Ben abdeljelil
Hi. According to me, answering such a question is very tough, as it demands to be capable of conceiving yourself in a totally different situation from your actual. Considering the fact I am black, I would undergo bad and even ill treatments. If I assume that I am black guy who had to stand this kind of treatment during his all life, but who did not live in an environment where the rebellion was thriving, I don't think I would have risen up against the established authority as I would have considered it as excessively risky and dangerous. On the contrary, If I make the opposite assumption. I would have revolted for sure, given that I couldn't envision any other option. Like I said, answering this question is truly complex since you could not just answer it from your actual point of view. It wouldn't not be relevant historically. I tried to come up with a synthetic answer as you could not contemplate any possible cases. Florian Crahès, T2.
According to me->To my mind. Conceiving yourself in a totally different situation-> in a black guy's shoes I am black ->I am a black guy Like I said -> As I said
I think this question is very difficult to answer, as it seems impossible to put yourself in the place of someone in a situation you never lived. It is sure that I would have been against it, and I would have tried to stand up for my rights, but I don't know if I would have been able to be the leader of a movement anti-Apartheid for example. Indeed, you must have the guts to endorse such a role, but it is logical since to fight for your rights, you obviously need to be determined and strong-willed.
It's hard to say my opinion about this topic because I didn't experience it, but I think I would have fought against racism like Biko because I hate injustice more than anything. I probably would have lost my life trying to change things.
Hello, I think that if I was a black person during the period of segregation in South Africa I would have advocated for my rights and those of all blacks people. Steve Biko is the symbol of courage and non-violence, he was a pacifist activist like, I think, I would have been. I believe that I wouldn’t have borne all the injustices that were done between whites and blacks. Equality but I would even say equity is a need, you can’t live peacefully knowing that you are considered less than another just because of the color of your skin. But I also don’t know if I could have had enough bravery to support this cause knowing that I could be punished, hurt, or worse : killed for that. I find that blacks activists were heroes because they knew what they were risking but that didn’t stop them from defending theirs rights, I find that admirable. Charlier Jade, 104

I think I would have militated like Biko so that rights and freedoms are respected and recognized by the state. But being an activist was very dangerous at that time so I would have been extremely careful not to get killed or go to jail.
Hello, for me it's difficult to answer this question because I haven't experienced it. but I think I will fight and defend my rights like Biko. hey, i would definitely fight for my rights.it’s important to be an activist even if we’re not black because it’s so important to have the same rights we can’t leave without that! don’t forget in our days we had an movement for black rights named BLM (black lives matter) and our days we have to continue the battle until all of us are equal.

I think if I were black during apartheid in South Africa, I would defend my rights and the rights of all blacks. Steve Biko is a symbol of courage and non-violence, and I think he is a peace activist. Equality, but I would even say fairness is a necessity. You cannot live in peace because you know that you are considered inferior to others because of your skin color. But I don't know if I will be able to have enough courage to support this cause, because I know that I could be punished for it. I find black activists to be heroes and still are today.
If i was a black person during this period, of course i would be a militant like Biko because i disagree with this society that makes injuries for black people. Nobody is suppose to live with this bad feeling that make you sad and feel shameful about his color. This is why i were a militant to fight for my justice. Raphael VINOT T*2
If I was a black person during the period of segregation in South Africa, I would’ve militated like Biko. In my opinion discrimination shouldn’t even exist, I can’t put myself into how anyone felt during this period but I know that if I was there I would have fought against any inequalities, because we are all equal and we should all think that way and treat everyone the same way because we are all humans that’s all, nobody should be put apart we are all united. I would have fought for justice and equality!
If I was a black person during the time of segregation in South Africa, I would have never tolerated any kind of injustice towards me and people around me. I would’ve fought for my rights and for humanity just like Biko did because I believe that no one should tell you what to do and how to live.
To begin with I think this question is very complicated question to answer, but I’m convinced that I would have militated, like Biko, in front of violence against my people and me. It is out of dignity but above all, a duty to do so, despite the consequences and dangers.
