Hi everybody, Some fifth formers students including me : 1ère S4 & ES2 , will go to Sweden to spend some time with our pen -friends. Personally, it's my first experience and I don't know my pen-friend very well, we have only written to each other. So I have to confess that I am a bit worried about meeting him. I don't want to be impolite or anything so I hope I will do the right thing . Therefore, if you had the same experience and would like to share please do so.

  1. Hi!
I also had two pen-friend but in germany. With one of them, we never write us before seeing us in Germany.
So I just knew where she lived and that she had a little sister. But We had a increadible time togever and we became good friends. I pay attention not to be impolite and to be descreet. It is also better to adapt yourself to the family's time. For exemple in this familly they didn't eat at the same hour as in my familly and took short showers. And I did it too. When my pen friend also came at home it was super too and we never had a problem. When she didn't know Something or was not sure she simply ask us and therefore there wasn't any conflict.
I hope it will be so for you too.

  2. Hi there,
About my experience with penfriends, I already had once. He was a German student living in Heidelberg, Baden-Wurtenberg. I went twice to him and he also came twice. We were very close at each other. However, we have lost touch.
Secondly, I also received an American student last year. He was 22 and stayed one month with us. He was very nice.
So I'm use to exchanges with pen friend.
Nethertless, I'm a bit worry about my Swedish pen friend because he is only 14 years old, so he is quiet young.
    Have a nice day,
    Julien

  3. Hi Matt !
First of all , I don't really know my pen-friend either but I try to text her every week in order to create some links between us ( and it works ) . Maybe you could do the same thing ? However , it's difficult to talk about something interesting when you're not face to face ( and it's in English not in our maternal language ) . I didn't have the chance to go to a pen-friend's house yet but I guess it's a great thing and I'm sure that in May it will be awesome !
To conclude , I'm a little bit scared of going to her house because maybe their traditions are strange for us .

  4. Hello !

    - First of all, we must admit that we are lucky to have a pen-friend, It improve our English and it open our mind a lot. As for me it is my second experience, I've already meet a pen friend when I was in primary school, it was in Czech Republic and it was awsome.
Like Mathieu, I'm a little bit scared because I don't know very much Miranda but she looks very nice. I hope that this trip in Sweden will be perfect, we will visit many typical places and have fun together.

  5. hi everyone, I once got a pen-friend in England and I was as worried as you, the first time we met. I stayed with her and the family about 3 weeks and one thing leading to another, we played games and shared some time together and we became almost friends. we still sometimes continue to exchange with the other because she won a sing/music contest and she is a model for shootings so she share that on facebook and I am very proud of her (because she's one year younger than me)

However , I have changed of penfriends , In fact I have had two girls the last year and because they have changed of school ,now , I write to two boys. So , I don't kwow who will welcome me..
Therefore , Mathieu , don't worry ,you're not the only one to apprehend this trip !
Nevertheless , I am happy to go in this country and have the opportunity to visit a part of it.

  8. I already had Italian and German pen-friends, and this year a Swedish. We have the chance to go in Sweden. I am not too worried because personally I will do everything to make it go well with Alexandra, and she looks nice. One of the advantages (and disadvantages also if one doesn't understand) is that one can only speak English to progress, since I don't know anything about the Swedish and she doesn't speak French at all!

  12. Hello everybody !
Like you I have a pen friend and I will go to Sweden. I am really excited about that experience because it is the first time I will met someone I just know through a few letters ! In fact I have written to him but I am a bit worried because I don't really know what he likes or dislikes. I hope we will get on well, and if we do I think we will continue to exchange with social networks !

  13. Hi Mathieu,
As everyone, I am very exited to go to Sweden and a bit scared to meet my pen-friend as well.
I actually do not know many things about her although we had sent letters to each other. I hope that the few days we will spent there will be nice ! Unlike Patricia, I am not stressed at all because I will do the best I can to make my trip enjoyable.

    See you in Sweden so!
    Xx

  14. Hi everybody,
As for me, I understand you are a little bit worried, mathieu, about meeting your penfriend, as I am too because, even if we wrote to each other several times we don't really know each other. And it is quite normal to be afraid about an unknown situation. We don't know wether we will get along well together or not. But when I think about it, I do think we are very lucky to discover other habits and traditions.
To conclude, I'm very confident and I'm sure that we will spend a fabulous time in sweden.
