  2. Black Beauty has been with different owners, some were kind, some were mean. Farmer Grey was a kind owner, he is Beauty's first owner, and my favourite. In fact, that is where he lives the first for years of his life with his mother, Duchess. He is a good and kind man who trains Black Beauty well. ( 56 words )

This cab driver was a good-tempered man who do cares about people. He accurately took care of Black Beauty and that was why he really appreciated him.
In other words, his behavior towards customers and horses was exemplary ! (57 words)

    1. Hi,
I just saw that I made a mistake for two reasons so I am correcting myself : "a good-tempered who DID care about people" talking about Jerry Baker.
Moreover, I believe it's better to use the verb "look for" Black Beauty instead of "take care of"

  5. I see eye to eye with Marie! In my opinion, Jerry Barker and his lovely family were great. He treated horses and humans with an unconditional respect. I felt worried about his health and was relived and quite sad when he found a better job and had to leave BlackBeauty...

    2. Hello everybody !!!

To begin with, as for me, Jerry Baker, the cab driver was the best of Black Beauty’s master. Indeed, I like his kind behaviour with the horse (that he nicknamed Jack). Furthermore, he gave him enough food to eat, never hit him, always patted him and Black Beauty rested on Sundays. So, to cut a long story short, he loved horses and so that’s why I like him.

  7. After a lot of thinking I strongly believe that Jerry Barker was Black Beauty's best master. From my point of view he is the only one who really considers his horses as members of his family and not just as work's tools. Money doesn't worth his horses's health and that is something that a lot of people forget: panimals are living beings and can feel the pain as much as love. I am so disappointed Black Beauty couldn't stay with him and have the life that he deserves!

  8. Hello !

First of all Black Beauty has lots of master during his life. As for me the best owner was Jerry Barker, but unfortunately he arrived too late in the story because he was very gentle especially when the woman asked her to go to hospital and accept immediatly, it was very moving. To sum up Jerry was the man who whispers to horses.

  9. Like Lena, my favorite master is Mr Gordon.
First, I like him because he had always been kind and gentle with horses and, he always took care of his horses like humans.
Also, he had the best grooms in the story, his grooms knew horses and theirs feelings. That's why Mr Gordon is my favourite master.

  10. In my opinion, Jerry Barker was my favourite owner and probably Black Beauty's one as well. Indeed, they take a strong liking to each other right away. He is a cheerful man who is extremely gentle and caring towards his horses, qualities that only a few of his owners possessed. All in all, more people should take example on Jerry.(60 words)

  11. Hi everybody !
To my mind, Mr gordon is my favourite master for several reasons :
First of all, he is nice, honest and respectful towards the horses. Moreover, he takes care of them kindly and he is warm-hearted. Last nut not the least, he doesn't use the bearing rein and he is fair to the stable boys. (55 words)

  13. hello everybody!
Like many of students, my favorite master is Mister Gordon.
First at all, it's not easy to have people under your commend without become pretentious, harsh, or just a powerful man who is thinking only about him and his buissness, without compassion for animals and his employees...
But during all the story Mister Gordon seems gentle, kindly and considerate!
I think when a man is able to respect humans like him, it's not be surprising that he is a good master for animals, and vice-versa!
I would point out that all apprentices and more generally people around him are kindly people for Black Beauty and horses: James, Joe Green, Miss Gordon or John...
they did actions in order to welcome warmly, save, or help Black Beauty!
I think he has charisma and good influence to others.
Finally, we mustn't forget that he doesn't think only at the well being of his horses: he intervened when a man was talking in a very bad way to his little poney. Alicia

  14. To begin with, Black Beauty had a few really good masters, but, my favorite is Jerry Barker. Indeed, Jerry Barker is never cruel with his horses. Even if he is poor, he gives priority to Black Beauty's hapiness and not to earn money. To my mind, he is a good person who wants the best for his horses. (55 words)

  15. The owner I liked the most was Jerry Barker, for a few reasons. First of all, he was always kind to horses, but also to people in general. Moreover, he wasn't interested in money even if he wasn't wealthy at all and never asked extra money from his clients. And finally, he went out of his way to take care of Black Beauty and his other horse by not working on Sundays.(70 words)

  16. Hi!
I think Jerry Baker was the owner I liked the most because he was always kind to Black Beauty, he never tried to hurt him or make him work when he was really tired. Plus, even if he is pictured as poor in the book, he didn't care about money:he never accepted to go faster for extra money and when someone was in need he just helped.

  17. Personally, the masters that Black Beauty had that I considered to be the best are Mr Gordon and Jerry Barker. They both were the kindest and loved horses. Mr Gordon was an excellent rider, and we could feel that he was passioned about horses and gave them a lot. Jerry Barker wasn't only a great cab driver, he was a great human. He cared more about other people's or animals' lives than his own, and wasn't interested in money. He worked hard to give to his family the best life they could have.

  18. First and foremost, Black Beauty had several masters but just some of them were sensible and kind. As far as I'm concerned, Jerry Barker was my favorite. Indeed, beyond his kindness and his generosity, he was a clever man who took care of his horses. Furthermore, he was altruistic. For instance, he helped a woman who was in great difficulty binging her to the hospital. In a nutshell, Jerry Barker was my favorite among Black Beauty's masters.

  21. I am totally FOR the uniform because it causes a lot of positive things Uniforms help supervisors recognize potential intruders "in school uniforms are less expensive than the clothing fashion that students generally want to wear Since students are all dressed the same way, there is no distinction of dress sense and especially of "affluence" ... students are more disciplined and therefore are better able to learn to enhance all these ideas, here is a short interview with a director of a Canadian school (this interview is from a Canadian magazine) Before uniforms are worn in our secondary schools, the percentage of students who succeeded the provincial Ministry of examinations of completion of secondary education was 33%, ranking among the lowest in the region of Montreal. Today, it reaches 64 Nelson, 13, France fOR absolutely, it helps with the differences of rich and poor, there is no discrimination. I am for the uniforms because everyone is equal.

  22. Hello !
My favourite Black Beauty's master was Mr Gordon. To my mind, he is the best master that a horse could have, in fact he is kind and very gentle with horses. Moreover, he is an excellent rider and Black Beauty adore him. At Birtwick Park, Black Beauty was very happy because Mr Gordon really took care of his horses : they stood in a stable, night and day, they had a large field where they could gallop around at full speed, they have good food, and the most important they had loving owners. Black Beauty and his friends, Ginger, Merrylegs and Sir Oliver had a beautiful life by Gordons' side. Besides, I also guess that Mr Gordon was respectful with horses and a wise man and, to conclude, I think he loves animals a lot, so in my opinion, he is a person with a big heart.

  23. My opinion is that Jerry barker was the best black beauty's master because he was very kind and he really took care of him with kids and wife. Moreover when I write about Jerry I can't prevent me from remembering that:" extra money doesn't pay for extra speed ". As I see it this sentence proved that Jerry pay attention to black beauty's health even though he was poor and need this extra money.

  25. I think that Mr Gordon was Black Beauty's best owner, because he was very nice and loved Black Beauty and his mother a lot. Furthermore, he learnt to Black Beauty to behave well, what was of use to him a lot, later.
Nevertheless, and even if he's not strictly speaking one of the owners of Black Beauty, I prefer James, because he is very nice and he was ready to put his life in danger to save his horses.
