  1. Hello!

I think that reality Tv are painfully boring. And they seem to have an impact on how certain people in the target audience who actually watch them behave and that it's shock me . And the way many of those shows are built they tend to promote stereotypes like crazy. And the stripping no one of those shows really deserve to be called reality it is just to create conflits.
I don't really look reality TV show I just watch "Dance avec les Stars" or "The Voice" but there are not reality TV . In real I prefer watch series where there is a real story all along.

  2. First of all , as for me , reality TV shows aren't interesting because their aim is to make money . That's why the employees are paid because they do silly things to make the " buzz " . Moreover , I don't like to see their life , because all the things , problems that happen are not real , they are created by the production .
On the other hand , some reality TV shows are not as stupid as the others . Besides , sometimes I like watching these tv shows when the goal is to discover singers or those with a particular talent such as " Nouvelle Star " with Christophe Willem or " Star Academy " with Jenifer .
To sum up , i'm not convinced reality TV shows teaches something but sometimes it could be entertaining .

  3. Hi!
We don't have to generalize reality TV.
To be more objective, I prefer to separate TV show into two categories: the first part are reality TV that don't have much interest (to my mind) like "Secret Story" or "the Island of the Temptation":Firstly there is no respect for privacy and I don't care about the lives of others, especially when the participants are filmed every day in a House to argue, to form couples, to fight, to eat and to re-form couples ... I have already watched Secret Story, of course, because before there were more interesting secrets. The main positive point of these TV show is that people who don't have a lot of graduates can win money and work on TV ...
However, some TV show (not a lot), such as "the Angels", are pitiful because production and candidates have no limits and can show inapropriate or violent images (harassment, fights) and give a bad image of youth or influence their fans.
The second categorie are the reality TV like Koh Lanta, ,Top Chef, Dance with Stars which I like. For me the goal is quite different, because already the participants don't look for the "buzz" and have real abilities (cooking, physical abilities) and intentions: it's prettier to watch and we feel closer to the candidates.

  4. Hi everyone,
I share Lena and Lola's point of views concerning the boring aspect of TV reality shows. Furthermore, Lena gives an accurate analysis of the aim of those shows, which are indeed produced just to make money.
As far as I am concerned, I find ridiculous those persons who believe they make themselves interesting whereas, nobody actually cares about their life. However, many people enjoy watching TV reality shows because it may be entertaining.
Regardless, if I watched those silly programs, I would have the impression of wasting my time.

  5. Indeed, reality TV occupy a large place in television program. For my part, I don't often watch the television. However, I like Kohlanta and Top Chef. On the other hand Secret Story or Les Anges, I find this stupid. My opinion on reality TV is shared. Because some reality TV are interesting. But others are useless or uninteresting. Attention is that my personal opinion !!! Each its opinion.
If not, my two favorite television program are Kohlanta and Top Chef.
Kohlanta is a program that is broadcast every Friday night. There are sports events. However, over time it has become a very strategic game. Indeed, le winner is often the most strategic candidate and not the most sporting candidate. If not, the purpose of the game is : while forty days the candidates are on an island. They are alone without food. They must survive hunger, cold etc... It's a difficult game.
Furthermore, I like Top Chef. There are creative broadcasts. Sometimes, I'm impressed by some dishes made. They are very beautiful and very decorated.
To conclude, some reality TV are good but others that don't serve anything. Then the television isn't a pleasure for me but I like watch the films with my family.

  6. Hello everybody !!!

To begin with, I think that reality shows are nowadays more and more popular and that their audience is rising. Indeed, more and more people are now watching reality shows. First, I suppose it’s beacause they like it, indeed it is a mean to chill out and it is sometimes entertaining. Then, in my opinion, it is because a lot of channels are showing those TV programs, and so, if you want to look at a funny or quite simple program, you always fell on those.
As for me, reality shows bring you anything special, and to my mind, it is a bit strange to look someone that I don’t know living his life in front of mine and telling all his secrets and his life’s personnal aspect. That’s why, in general I don’t like reality shows but some of them are still sympathetic for me such as « The Voice » in wich you must discover new talents or even « Danse avec les stars » which are both related to art. However, those ones don’t really show the life of a person but his evolution as a singer, or a dancer and even a cooker with Top Chef, that’s why I like to see those sometimes.
To conclude, reality shows are only entertaning for the audience even if they can sometimes have an important impact such as Nabilla with her « Allo quoi ? » which is now famous in France and in a lot of other countries. However, even if the majority of them are a bit stupid, some are still for me, a funny and quite a nice entertainment.

  7. First of all I agree with Alicia, there is two different types of TV shows. The reality TV is (to my mind) so boring and interest-free compared with entertainment shows like Koh-Lanta, Top Chef or France's got talent.
This second type of programs, show to the audience a contestant who has a real skill.
I like France's got talent because there is a lot of different acts. Moreover I also watch Britain's got talent sometimes, because during all this program you can be impressed by the candidates whereas the reality TV stages people who don't have any talent, the only goal is to make the buzz and at the same time some money.
Of course during France's got talent or Star Academy there are still crazy contestants but it's funniest than look at a group of people who just form couples.
Besides, in an entertainment show, the winner receives a reward which allows him to practice his passion.

  8. I think there are two types of reality TV shows: one has a bad side and the other a good one.

One reason reality TV shows have negatively impacted society is the way that these TV shows uphold bad morals. In a search for ratings and media coverage, shows are becoming ever more vulgar and offensive, trying to find new ways to shock. Reality TV shows are corrupting as they rely on humiliation and conflict to create excitement. The programmes are full of swearing, violence, crying ... This sends a message to people that this is normal behaviour and helps to create a crude, selfish society but they do reflect our society, which isn’t always perfect. Reality TV shows create also a cult of celebrity. Moreover reality TV is dishonest – it pretends to show “reality” but it actually distorts the truth to suit the programme makers (selective editing). Most viewers want to be entertained and to escape for a while from the worries and boredom of their everyday life.

On the other hand even if some reality programmes are bad, exploiting people in nasty ways, others are good. Allows people to show their talents reality TV allows talented young or old people to show the world their amazing abilities. In many reality TV shows, people are competing for a prize. The prize being the opportunity to pursue their dreams. For example, in the "France's Got Talent" … Reality TV shows educate the viewers reality TV can be an educational programs. They educate people by asking/giving information about current affairs, general knowledge…, for example “Who wants to be a milionere”. All of the educational programs make us to have a more knowledge about social knowledge, sciences, mathematic, history. Reality TV is good because it exposes you to different cultures, beliefs... It can teach us languages, fashion, cuisine and other useful things.

I think that broadcasters should be give to their viewers quality programmes which expand their cultural horizons because number of the reality television programs today promote selfishness, degrades family values, lowers television network quality, encourages unhealthy relationships...

I enjoy watching "Koh-Lanta", "Man vs. Wild" and "Beijing Express" because I like the side adventurer and I like discovering new things about survival because who knows, maybe one day I will need it !

  9. Hi everyone !
I don't personnaly Watch reality tv shows because i think they're useless. Most of the supposed to be actors don't know how to beahve and they just say dumb things to buzz. I personnaly think that tv should be a source of information and not make us dumber than we already are !
That's why i personnaly prefer watching series, i think that first of all they are more entertaining and funnier and i feel like for most of them they teach us something ( just think about the big bang theory ! )

  10. I look at reality TV however I look at these broadcasts to amuse and amuse me. I think that you should not look at these broadcasts by taking them seriously because often the people in these broadcasts are vulgar and not very intelligent.
Later I think that it is important not to confuse everything because certain broadcasts are interesting and instructive I think for example of Top Chef who is a broadcast of cooking and who little to bring information and novelties to the spectators.
I thus think that reality TV shows are to be more taken for the entertainment and in the amusement than in the instruction or seriously, you should not thus take these broadcasts as the truths broadcasts but this one can be pleasant to laugh and relax.

  11. First of all, these kind of shows are becoming more present on TV.

On the one hand, people can watch whatever they want, and we should not judge someone as "dumb" just because he likes Tv reality. As long as it is not taken too seriously, people can watch it just for entertainment...

On the other hand, it is not very hard to produce and might give bad exemples to young children. I think film and series makers are producing great works and these fictions and documentaries are thought to share a message with the audience. I do not see any artistic interest in the kind of tv show like "Secret story". As for shows like "The Voice", I am not a fan but I have to confess having watched them more than once.

As far as I am concerned, I think that watching reality tv is a waste of time but I do not blame people who do.

  12. I agree with Alicia and Karina. Indeed, I would also classify reality TV shows in two categories: those that are interesting, and those that are less, even ridiculous. I think we can have different opinions about reality TV. Regarding the realities that I would classify in the non-interesting category, like Secret Story or The Angels of Reality TV, I find that these are ridiculous and stupid programs. In this king of programming, we show the life of the candidates from all angles. The attitude of some candidates is sometimes embarrasing, ridiculous and vulgar. Nevertheless, there are other types of TV realities, which are more interesting to Watch; like Koh-Lanta, Dance with the Stars. Personally, I prefer to Watch these programs, which are much better than the previous ones. Indeed, it is another type of program, quite different than the others. My two favorite TV shows are Koh-Lanta and Dance with the Stars. What I like about Koh-Lanta is the atmosphere of adventure, survival but also the fact that there are trials. In Danse with the Stars, I find the concept of the program quite interesting, the fact that Professional dancers dance.

  13. Personally, I don't watch reality TV for few reasons: Firstly, these shows are dumb and are "trash tv". As said the owner of TF1, these programs are simply made to "make space in the watcher's brain, for publicity". I don't think that these shows are useful to evolve like some documentaries do. For me, watching people living their life ( and sometimes it is not their real life )is not something I like or need in my life. We already have our personal struggles, we don't need to watch fake problems and fake people on Tv.
To conclude, I think reality TV is a really bad idea because a lot of young people watch them and it gives them a false vew of what real life can be.

  14. To start with, I have mixed feelings about reality TV.
On one hand, In my opinion I believe that reality TV can be a bad influence on teenagers and young adults because when people watch reality TV, they look up to the « actors » and they tend to copy them without thinking if it's the right way to act. For example, they start copying how these « actors » talk or how they dress which is, at times, very vulgar.
However, I also think reality TV can be entertaining for some people. Indeed, It may feel good and calm you down to watch people who have bigger problems than you or sometimes you can just be interested in how other people live their lives even if most cases, reality TV shows are now scripted.
Finally, I personally don't watch these kind of shows because I think they're not that interesting however I prefer following a proper story like in films or in series.

  15. Hello everyone,
Nowadays, reality TV has expanded massively because a lot of people are fond of this type of TV programs. Besides, the numerous reality shows tend to increase the number of viewers.
As for me, first of all I don't really like watching TV and I never watch reality tv because I find it completly stupid. I think it is useless to watch unknown people living on Tv telling us all their feelings which are rather personal ones. Moreover, they are actors and behave as they are told to because the goal of this kind of programs is to make money !
To conclude, according to a scientific study, waching reality TV makes your IQ decrease. So I don't think it's should be produced anymore.

  16. I think that reality TV is a good thing to distract people. Of course, that's not intelligent, and we don't learn anything by looking reality TV, but people cannot always watch the channels of information or politic.
I've already watched Secret Story, but I don't really like reality TV, and I won't watch again, to part if I'm bored a lot.

  17. There is more and more reality TV and the majority of the programs which are on television are reality TV. It is especially the young people who look that , for the youngest of them these programs can be dangerous because they convey bad messages , dull and can influence their way of thinking. Well on, that can be a good way of entertainment for some people if it is people who can think by themselves, it is not a big problem ,the real problem it is for the youngest teenagers who are still influenceable. Personally it is because of this kind of programs if I don’t watch TV any more because i don’t care of reality TV and I don’t like that. I think that there are movies/series or documentaries, which deliver a strong message, and can teach us something, for example «  Black mirror » is a serie which criticizes bad side of the new technology and the future which they reserve for our society , This series is more interesting than secret story , koh lanta …..
To conclude , for me Reality tv are a bad thing , but it can be an entertainment for some people and I’m not against that I just think that reality TV bring nothing and it is a bad idea to leave young people watch it

  18. Hi everyone,

Reality Tv shows are programs created not only to entertain people but also to create a buzz so that make a lot of money . It's a simple principle : a Tv reality show is made for attract young people so all part of this type of emission has been shedulded to make people addicted. The term "reality" is often criticized as being innacurate because the shows are often acting and urging from behind-the-scene! All the content must be interesting , dramatic , funny and emotional .I think that it is stupid and useless to watch this . It is better to do something useful instead of this type of distraction .
To conclude , I don't watch reality show and I will never do it !

    ReplyDelete
  19. To my mind, reality TV shows are very disappointing because they only created these programs for the buzz and show people who do not know how to speak and I find that saddening because know young people who look these programs on TV take the same language.
For me I definitely do not watch reality TV show at home.

  20. Good Afternoon !
Reality TV shows have several aspects, the first one is, of course, that they make us beast. They are always programmed at the time when the young people are returning from school and are therefore intended for young people, they therefore incite them, for example, not to do their homework and put them on the margins of society. The second one is that it show us some "famous" people facing youth want to look like, while these people are not good model of intelligence or integrity

  22. Hello everyone,
Personally I don't watch reality tv shows but I used to watch "les Marseillais" , when I think back to this periode I find it so stupid because nowadays I find this kind of show meaningless and it make me inconfortable, it is voyeurism to my mind. I know many people who look at these stuff and I asked them many times why ?! They answered me that it's funny to laugh at candidates. I clearly can't understand this phenomenon.

  24. My first answer would be to say, that the reality TV is an uninteresting and bad thing. However, I think that there are differents kinds of reality TV shows. For my part, I'm against the shows in which we follow the daily life of a group of people who live in the same house. I don't want to see, when I com back from school, the disputes of people, who I don't know. Besides, the reality TV can also show people, who work a lot and want to engage in their passion, as is the case of "Masterchef" or "Nouvelle star". Even if I don't really watch these programs too, I think they can motivate the television viewers and open their mind to news areas that they don't really know. I have so a divided opinion on the question.

First of all, I would like to say that I respect everybody's opinion on this subject and what I'll say is not against anybody !
I don' watch reality shows, I think it's not interresting and very, very, very borring, I can't find the goal of watching people pretending their life is perfect and exposing it to TV.
The only reality show I am watching is "The Voice" and I don't know if we can consider it as a reality show, I am only watching it to discover new talents and new songs.
Moreover, a sudy showed that any time you are watching a reality show of 20 minutes, you loose 0.002 percent of you IQ.

  26. Hello !
Personally, I find first that all the reality TV are not comparable. The programs like “Koh Lanta” or “Pekin Express” are programs that I like very much because the viewer is disoriented and follows candidates in thirst of adventure and discorvery, ready to surpass oneself mentally and physically. I find that these programs are very interesting and we learn about the ability of humans to survive and to overcome difficulties. Likewise, I don't really consider "talent show" as reality TV even if they are. I find these programs (“Nouvelles Star” “The Voice”) very entertaining. On the other hand, I consider the programs “Secret story”, “Les anges” and other, very futile. I sometimes watch them momentarily out of curiosity, at the second degree of course. These programs give bad images to the young people who watch them and who take these candidates as “celebrities”. Moreover, reality TV of “love” revolts me because it degrades much the image of the woman. Indeed, in all these programs she is presented as a vulgar object which men possess. Their outfits are generally too daring and return a bad image. To conclude, I am neither for nor against the reality TV because I like watch some of these but all programs are not comparable.

  27. In my opinion we could separate reality show in two types. The first one would be the ones we could call "useless" because it's just watching ordinary days of ordinary people gathered in the same house. These are the one I really hate because I think it's so sad watching people acting brainless in front of a whole country, sometimes the whole world. On the other side, some reality tv are trying to discover new talents to be put in the light. I do not like it either but sometimes it's nice for the winner. Indeed most of the time he will be successfull after the show. But I don't watch any of them because if a new talent is discovered I will soon hear from it.

  28. I watch reality tv from time to time but I put them in different categories for example I like to watch Hell's Kitchen (French and British version ) because I like food or nouvelle star and the voice because I love music and it's really funny sometimes then there's another category of reality tv like secret story or les Anges I watch it because I find it entertaining obviously I don't take it seriously because it's not reality what we see on tv doesn't reflect the real life to me they are just actors that's it they're acting or whatever it is but it's absolutely not life. The reason why I put them into different categories is because one part of these reality tv are interesting because it helps people to find jobs or improving their voice for example they try to find new talent wether it's in music or cooking and the other part is just stupid because they have nothing better then other to be where they are they're just saying stupid things hoping that people will talk about them. (They are others reality tv that I didn't mentioned of course but to me they're not in these two categories like koh lanta )

  29. Hi everyone!
I totally everyone's point of view when they say that reality shows are boring. Furthermore I totally share the point of view of Hana about the people who participate. I mean they think their lifes are perfect so they wanted to show it on tv. Moreover those people think they will become very famous but indeed they just got a bad image of someone who is stupid because he participated at a reality show. Nevertheless some people find that funny or interesting to watch. But as far as I'm concerned I don't watch any reality show except The Voice sometimes if it's considered like one.

  30. First of all, I think that reality TV is watched by young people rather than older people. I don't watch this type of television program and I don’t plan to watch it because I believe that is not interesting, celebrities speak badly. It’s for the “buzz” and to receive some money. It’s just stupefying and a waste of time. I mean that is not diverting for me. That is why I don't recommend watching this type of television.
Yes I already watched one of these TV shows, for example I enjoy watching Koh-Lanta and pékinexpress. On the one hand, Koh-Lanta, because I like the concept of this emission because you push your limits and on the other hand pékinexpress for the same things but it demonstrates more of a solidarity spirit. However, the other shows don't make me want to watch them. Maybe "L'amour est dans le pré" with my mum haha.
